They debut in 2009 as "BEAST/B2ST" under Cube Entertainment and they are really popular in Korea. In 2016 HyunSeung left the group, but they made a comeback with all the others members. They left Cube Ententarinment and created their own company called "Around US Entertainment" which all members are CEOs... They couldn't promote with their group name after leaving Cube Entertainment, The legal authority and rights to B2ST as a registered commodity in the areas of music albums, advertisements, and artist performances, belong to Cube Entertainment until January 25, February 23, and April 1 of 2026, respectively. So they change the name to "Highlight" (their last album's name). So yeah, it's the same group, but with a new name because of problems with copyright after leave the old label.

Our fandom is so lucky. HIGHLIGHT could have disbanded like most of the groups of their generation and break many hearts, BUT NO !! They decided to stay together and we're so lucky that they succeeded with their company.

Beast was actually one of the first kpop groups i got into but i didnt know that they changed names and i was trying to find out who highlight was so i clicked on it. Im kinda mind blown rn but also disappointed that i didnt know. But i do agree with you

Dear newer Kpop fans I would appreciate if you take a day or two of your time and get to know about general Kpop history. Believe me, it'll help you appreciate the genre even more. That's what I did when I first got into it in 2010. BEAST/HIGHLIGHT are one of the most recognised boy groups in South Korea and one of the most successful idol groups digitally. While most 2nd gen groups are disbanding or on the verge of it, BEAST/HIGHLIGHT established their own independent label (Which is an incredibly tough thing to do and only a handful of groups have managed to do so - like SHINHWA for eg.) Unfortunately they had to rename themselves because their ex-agency hold the trademark rights to their old name BEAST. But, they're the CEOs of themselves now. And this is their first debut/comeback under their own label. They already had complete control over their music - their albums are completely self-produced - and now they have complete control over the management as well. I really hope you enjoy their music and appreciate the lengths they've gone to stay together and keep making music - which is a rare thing to find within Kpop these days.

20 seconds have past and i'm already crying. i've been a fan since the Shock era which is like 2010. BEAST has been a huge childhood inspiration and idol for me. I collected CDs, I collected posters, I voted for them, I owned fan accounts (lots of them), i grew up, i matured, i became busy, and then I left the fandom. I've seen what they have experienced, I felt their struggles, I symphatized with their problems. I'm just so proud with how strong and passionate they are in what they are doing. Beauty or not, it brings me pride to be their fan. I started loving six young and innocent boys and now they're five professional and successful men. I'm watching these boys again as if they're starting all over again (except their richer now) I wish them success and happiness in everything they do. I hope people recognize the talent the boys always have in them. Shock & beautiful era was their prime and I can see them surpassing that. I will always love these boys, whatever they want to call themselves, always and forever.

i remember watching this as a depressed teenager going through puberty, and i didn't watch it often because i saved this for when I was really really sad because it made me so genuinely happy. It was my comforting safe space to come here and cheer up. There was one particular bad day when i sobbed by the end of the music video and not cause i was sad, but because i was so comforted and happy.
the opposite happened with me lol, when I was younger, for the longest time I hated this song because I thought it was "too bright" little did I know it'd become my comfort song :)

They are BEAST. They change their name cuz their contract ended in 2016 and it was with Cube Ent. Plus Jang Hyun-seung officially departed from the group on April 19, 2016. Beast was actually one of the first kpop groups i got into but i didnt know that they changed names and i was trying to find out who highlight was so i clicked on it. Im kinda mind blown rn but also disappointed that i didnt know. But i do agree with you

I would appreciate if you take a day or two of your time and get to know about general Kpop history. Believe me, it'll help you appreciate the genre even more. That's what I did when I first got into it in 2010.
BEAST/HIGHLIGHT are one of the most recognised boy groups in South Korea and one of the most successful idol groups digitally. While most 2nd gen groups are disbanding or on the verge of it, BEAST/HIGHLIGHT established their own independent label (Which is an incredibly tough thing to do and only a handful of groups have managed to do so - like SHINHWA for eg.) Unfortunately they had to rename themselves because their ex-agency hold the trademark rights to their old name BEAST. But, they're the CEOs of themselves now. And this is their first debut/comeback under their own label. They already had complete control over their music - their albums are completely self-produced - and now they have complete control over the management as well.
I really hope you enjoy their music and appreciate the lengths they've gone to stay together and keep making music - which is a rare thing to find within Kpop these days.

20 seconds have past and i'm already crying. i've been a fan since the Shock era which is like 2010. BEAST has been a huge childhood inspiration and idol for me. I collected CDs, I collected posters, I voted for them, I owned fan accounts (lots of them), i grew up, i matured, i became busy, and then I left the fandom. I've seen what they have experienced, I felt their struggles, I symphatized with their problems. I'm just so proud with how strong and passionate they are in what they are doing. Beauty or not, it brings me pride to be their fan. I started loving six young and innocent boys and now they're five professional and successful men. I'm watching these boys again as if they're starting all over again (except their richer now) I wish them success and happiness in everything they do. I hope people recognize the talent the boys always have in them. Shock & beautiful era was their prime and I can see them surpassing that. I will always love these boys, whatever they want to call themselves, always and forever.

i remember watching this as a depressed teenager going through puberty, and i didn't watch it often because i saved this for when I was really really sad because it made me so genuinely happy. It was my comforting safe space to come here and cheer up. There was one particular bad day when i sobbed by the end of the music video and not cause i was sad, but because i was so comforted and happy.

Their history is like a documentary i mean they went through so many difficulties first people used to call them "recycled group” a few years later, they overcame all obstacles and took home so many award. then hyunseung departed from the group then they left Cube I wonder how many time they cried but they never give up, for me they are not just my first bias in kpop industry they are my coaches they taught me how to never give up in life and this song I think they write it not only for the fans but for them-self too and yeah from now on uri oppa don’t frown we (b2uties)will be your light forever. :D :D

They are BEAST. They change their name cuz their contract ended in 2016 and it was with Cube Ent. Plus Jang Hyun-seung officially departed from the group on April 19, 2016. Now they are with Around Us Entertainment. It great to see them again. I miss them and this song is very catching....Glad they are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When they were BEAST before, I was not a fan of them, even I listened to their songs. I am a Cassiopeia (fan of TVXQ+JYJ). Seeing they comeback as a new name HIGHLIGHT with their own company really wanna make me cry. I really admire because after all of hardships they faced, they are still together as a group. I wish TVXQ+JYJ in someday might create their own company and comeback as 5! Anyway, because I admire the relationship and HIGHLIGHT talents, I will support them (of course still have TVXQ and JYJ) as a fan from now on.

So first VICTON stated Highlight as their role model, then same goes for KNK who is paying homage to Highlight in their upcoming track, and now BTS who looks up to them 😃 Like wow they deserve all this recognition for their hardwork. It's kinda sad from a b2uty who follows them from the very beginning to know they're being "idolized" as their era is passing by. BEAST/HIGHLIGHT are not as famous as they were back in the days but that's what makes them LEGENDS. It's nice to know that at least they're leaving their footmarks in a good way for the new generations.
