I daresay I am at least mildly disappointed we didn't get a clip of that last flame kill from the targets perspective. Looks like it would have shown the flame coming over the house and slowly, Churchill speed slowly, creeping towards him until contact. I imagine the driver was hearing Yakety Sax trying to find reverse only to have his hands melt into the steering wheel.
Pro tip from a Churchill main: If you are in a panzer 4 series of tanks, or anything with a APHE comparable to 96mm or greater pen, you can shoot the parascopes on the turret to bounce the shell down and kill the turret crew.
@@buchelly8047 Not exactly, you can shoot there but the chances of it bouncing it off is greater in lower profile tanks is higher, if you look slightly lower there is going to be two small rectangular blocks mounted on the angled roof plate of the Churchill's turret. Those blocks are the vision parascopes I am refuring too. They will be on the spots were the gunner and loader's position is.
You can also just shoot the angled part of the roof on the turret. It works on all centurions aswell. You can nuke Cent mark 10 with russian 85mm frontally like that easily lmao.
flame throwers should "at least" damage tank engines. thats why people would throw molotov cocktails on the engine decks of tanks, it would stall them out. because engines run on air/fuel not flames an fuel.
There are a number of things people seem to forget when criticizing the Churchill VII. For one thing, the smoke. With smoke shells and a smoke mortar, this thing can create and impenetrable fog for the entire battle, and I once clutched an "unwinnable" Mozdok conquest this way. Also, the gun is quite capable of track and barrel torture at close range, and we all know how effective that is against German heavies. The armor may not be invincible, but low speed and neutral steering give it excellent response time, which is great in urban combat. This remains one of my favorite tanks in War Thunder. It's not my first choice in a full uptier, but I still have many successful uptiered battles in it. This tank is therapy, and I absolutely love it.
tbh im a huge fan of the churchill mkvii in war thunder and irl its my favorite tank of all time. i think its a lot of fun to drive it into a field, angle, then watch the panthers and tigers get more and more confused about why they cant kill me. its so slow but so hard to kill its like continental drift in tank form

@@tristanemery8748 There is no way you can win that fight though, is there? The Tiger is impregnable to the Churchill if it is facing towards you, and one little pen through one of the Churchies weakspots/unangled bits and you explode.

Its a shame how HELL every british tank is to play up until high tier, we get infantry tanks with no infantry to fight, solid shot against magically overpreforming aphe's, and some of the SLOWEST vehicles all with no reverse gears, but they are somehow comparable to things like the panther according to gaijin
Another great video, looking forward to one every day for November. Would be good to see an updated list of your favourite premiums considering the sale is on
Not going to lie, the regular Churchill VII (unless they've changed stuff since I last checked) was like a mobile bunker until you faced a Panzer IV using APCR, or the occasional uptier to 5.3 (sometimes 5.7) And I will admit the gun was lacking, until I played the Churchill VII like a lower tiered jumbo. If anything, the Churchill VII kinda taught me how a heavy tank should be played, sitting and holding an objective until your team generated enough momentum for you to advance with.
The Churchill is a brilliant line-breaker cos of how hard it is to kill if the driver knows what they're doing. It can kill Panzer IVs from the front pretty easily and it can track/barrel most things with one or two shots, so it can work well as a pre-push unit as well, taking point while going down a road towards an enemy position and such
I keep the Churchill in my lineup mainly for the rare downtiers. In uptiers I just use the Avenger and Sherman Firefly and only spawn the Churchill when I have no other vehicles left.
This reminds me, there is a flamethrower panzer 2 and flamethrower t-26 in Enlisted, if you stick out of the commander hatch while driving forward and shooting you take flame damage!
Having watched a couple of your videos, by now i get the impression the cal.50 is THE most lethal weapon in this game... Though that is probably more due to its ubiquity than anything else, otherwise it would be the 20mm autocannon. Probably. Every now and then, the 7,82/7,62 machine guns are also surprisingly effective, but nowhere near as often as the cal.50.
his thing is what i have so lovingly nicknamed "The Vietnam Prelude" as when it fires off it's, well, *Fire,* it can blind the enemy COMPLETELY! start flaming as you turn a corner and they won't see you coming, literally. all they will see is fire, and soon after, the garage if you hit the shot afterwards.
I think that blue dash at the end of Port Novo game was *your* trailer. Thinking there might be a strat for getting another vehicle to tow a spare around for you!
Honestly, there's a lot of stuff the flamethrower SHOULD be doing. It doesn't do jack for destroying terrain, trees included. Yes. Tree > flamethrower. Open tops have an instakill effect, but you can drown a very much NOT sealed vehicle in burning fuel and not even so much as melt off a turret-topped machine gun or turret (never mind engine or crew being damaged). Then again, when and if they actually DO get flame damage working properly, it'd make the Crocodile considerably better (and anything else with a flamethrower to come, like some of the Italian's flame tanks.).
Flames cause engines to stop working and can burn accessories and hoses if dousing an engine bay area. But not in the game. They should make your engine catch fire after long enough, but at least stall it out after some seconds. Blue thing might be where you last died? It's same position..
As someone who actually enjoys the earlier Churchill's, I've got to agree with Odd that this VII is just absolutely terrible for its BR. It doesn't have the armour to brawl with but its gun is so underpowered that it can't reliably pen enemies at its BR beyond 500m (and that's being pretty generous). Don't even get me started on bringing this thing out just to get a full uptier: I may as well have brought one less vehicle.

The M10 shouldn't be able to kill the Churchill frontally as it's APHE only goes up to 149mm of pen, but why they can pen is probably because in the armour penetration evaluator it says 143mm instead of 152mm and if you think I'm lying then go and see it for yourself.
