My Grandparents lived right down the road from there in the eighties on Lakeview drive and I remember riding the Cannonball over and over with my brother and sister. I remember it being the roughest roller coaster I ever had been on, they must have improved it. That thing would rattle your brain! We would also ride the Himalaya, which was right across from the cannonball.

Found your channel looking for reviews of Camden park as we are headed there tomorrow to (hopefully) get a ride on the Big and Little Dipper coasters. I was interested to hear you compare Lake Winnie to Camden and really appreciated your perspective.
I am in my 60's now but I credit Lake Winnie and the Cannonball for my lifelong love of roller coasters and amusement parks. I grew up in the Chattanooga area and enjoyed summers at the park from a very young age. I rode the Cannonball on its opening day in the summer of 1967 and have remained a fan of the coaster ever since. The Cannonball was my first "adult" coaster, my daughter's first, and my grandson's first.
We no longer live in the area, but we made a special trip to bring our grandson to the park in July of 2021. We were just heartbroken to see so many rides closed, poor service, safety issues, and an overall rundown appearance. There was a sign on Wild Lightnin' saying they were waiting for parts from "France" , but I later learned the ride was sold to Alabama Adventure. The horrific condition of the classic PTC carousel (#39, built in 1916) was unbelievably sad. Btw, that area used to be a very large swimming pool, hence the water near the carousel and the Wacky Factory dark ride.
I went to school with some of the family members who own this park and have always appreciated how hard they have worked through the years to maintain it. In 1977 the family leased the park to a company called Fun Time Inc and things declined to the point I wondered if the park would survive. The family took over again in 1998 and there was much improvement for a number of years, including the addition of a small water park in 2013.
Thank you for your videos/reviews of these smaller parks. Hopefully they can hang on and perhaps even enjoy a resurgence before going the way of Conneaut Lake Park.

I'm glad it seemed like a decent amount of rides were open. That was a major issue in 2020 for them. Was Conestoga closed when you were there? That was the best ride in the whole park.
I enjoyed my visit in 2018. I tried to go back this year, but the day got rained out.

I think Coestoga was closed when I went, they were on a rotational operations schedule and I even had to wait for a while for a ride op to come run the wacky worm

I went to lake winnie today it was fun. The seats for cannon ball need to be wider I could fit but barely if I was bigger I couldn’t of fit I lost 14 pounds and the turn style to get on was narrow I could barely fit through it needs wider seats and the caboose on the train I almost got stuck why can’t they make stuff more plus size friendly

one time in middle school me and my friend thought it would be a good idea to ride the wild lightning 30 times in a day and ended up with huge bruises for weeks
