      I really think that Gehrman is a well written character. While yes I do have some sort of empathy he's doing his best to help the player understand the nightmare. You can tell by his emotions that is he willing to stop us from being in this nightmare. This game is amazing.

    I actually understood this one more than every Fromsoft game I have ever played before. I loved the Lovecraftian cosmic horror and how it started to descend into this madness as the game went on with the enemies becoming more otherwordly as time went on.

    • @WoodsyPeach
      @WoodsyPeach  28 днів тому

      I think out of all Fromsoft games. I was very intrigued to know more about Bloodborne than any other title for whatever reason. I really loved this game and till this day I still think it's one of the best games that has been developed and published. The way the game opens up for having a certain amount of knowledge and seeing things that you "aren't" supposed to see is kind of a cool mechanic.

    I think the fight with Gehrman was a beautiful and tragic one.
    The old hunter, though still suffering from the nightmare, did not want the young one to experience what he did thus deciding to free him even if the old man continues to suffer his fate.
    The young hunter wanted to free the old man from the nightmare even if it meant taking the suffering for himself.
    The two cared for each other and was willing to take on the 'knowledge' for themselves if it meant the other can go free.

    • @WoodsyPeach
      @WoodsyPeach  Місяць тому

      Perfectly well said. Yeah at first I didn’t understand much on why Gehrman would fight us??? Like wouldn’t he want to be away from suffering if he doesn’t enjoy with hosting the nightmare? Bloodborne opens up to the point where certain things doesn’t seem to make any sense which wanted me to know more. And usually from soft games they leave it to us to guess the theory.

    I love when you say that bloodborne hides every knowledge from you and lets you think on your own
    its a clever way to create a game with such theme not only inserting elements of that theme in the story itself
    I love when the players starts the game and is faced with a massive campfire surrounded with beasts. When I first played it, I was sure I could kill every of them easily, but I did not even land a hit on one of them before falling.
    But its not impossible, I did it in a stealthy way, sneaking up on the right side of the road you fight fewer enemies and can lure the dogs one by one.
    Crazy is that I spoke of that on reddit and found a guy who threw pebbles to lure them and kill one by one
    The game does not tell you what to do and lets you figure out on your own
    everything is a mystery in this game
    love it

    • @WoodsyPeach
      @WoodsyPeach  Місяць тому +1

      I think that what makes Bloodborne very special. Because usually in other game, those knowledge or in other scenario certain game elements or mechanics are hidden from you but like in Bloodborne you will gain more insights and actually be exposed to certain things that a player isn't really supposed to see. Another thing that I want to say is that Fromsoft games give an option to handle certain things on your own terms without really facing the punishment. And you would be surprised that any item you pick up could be useful in your playthrough but it's another reason why I love this game and any fromsoft creation. It's because you somewhat have your freedom to progress on your own terms. Bloodborne is one of the greatest game I've played.

    This game has a major flaw….its beloved so much but clearly the flaw is that Fromsoftware doesn’t care otherwise they would have remastered it by now. I’m obviously kidding but playing the game today is choppy as hell. This is probably the most beloved fromsoft game outside of Elden ring. We won’t get a blood Bourne 2 but damn it this deserves a remaster. For those who want an easy mode….GET GUD SCRUB!

    • @WoodsyPeach

      100% this game has major flaws! Frame rate isn’t as smooth, a lot of exploits are still accessible. Having playing this game multiple times sometime I just wish for an update or a remaster/remake of this game because it needs it. Other wise it’s still a good game and a master piece which is why it’s so beloved by the souls community. However I don’t think this is a Fromsoft issue. It’s Sony that owns the IP and they have a say and control. I’m sure fromsoft would love to give it a proper update or give it a remaster but we will see what’s going to happen in the future. • @WoodsyPeach
      @WoodsyPeach  Місяць тому

      Hey welcome! It's good to hear that your planning for your first playthrough. Usually since this is a semi-linear souls game I would say to try to explore every aspect of the game but from my experience I would say look up Tonsil Stone. It's not a necessary item that is needed to progress through the game but if I am not mistaken with that item you do have access to a different area later on. There is one area that could be entirely missed and that is called Cainhurst Castle could be easily missed so be on a look out for that. I can go on but usually for the first playthrough I say just try to explore, see what weapons suits you and have fun with the game. Your going to love it. One thing that I would like to add though is I highly recommend playing the DLC. Good luck and have fun thank you for tuning in and hoping to you see you in my next video :)

    damn bloodborne fanboys are trying so hard to keep this almost dead game relevant...i feel for you my beastly friends, but youre gonna have to get over this game one day and spare yourself alot of pain, i know i did, sony are never touching the IP again, we might get a remake for ps6 launch, but thats about it.
    i truly think this game "failed" in sonys eyes due to sonys own mismanagement, the fact that it only sold 7 million in almost 10 years and most of those sales were after the game dropped to 20$ in price was partly sonys fault and their insane standards and premature action, they threw it in ps+ for for free way too early in the consoles lifecycle and then in other forms of "free" sub based content, ive even heard that bbs code is even worse than DS1's code, the only reason DS1 did get remastered is because ds1 and dark souls in general is far higher regarded and far more loved in the industry than bb, which is pretty much known as "grey dark souls reskin with alot of british cocaine" outside of its small but annoyingly loud fanbase.

      Doom fans went through a 12 year drought and survived. Half life fans are still on an ongoing content drought but are more hopeful then ever. Miyazaki himself said that he wants to bring it to more console but the decision is not upto him. Demons souls was nearly forgotten yet sony still published the remake. BB fandom may be loud and annoying but them being loud is going to be the reason sony eventually releases the remaster. 7 million isn’t a small number for an exclusive souls like game that came out before souls likes were super popular. Last of us part 2 was considered a success but that game also sold around 7 million copies.

    *Contains Spoilers*
    Great analysis! I am a massive Bloodborne fan since I played it for the first time earlier this year. It's a game when I first played, I didn't quite understand everything. I more so wanted to experience all bosses, but because I loved the style, certain characters, wanting to know why orphan of kos was an orphan lol, I knew I wanted to know more about this masterpiece. While I still haven't looked into small stuff like why was there a fake Iosefka and she turned the real one as well as her patients into celestial emissary?
    But upon replaying knowing the lore, it hits! Rather thinking Gehrman betrays you by fighting you, he wants to kill you by sparing you the suffering he's endured as the host of the nightmare. AND you (the hunter) wants to release him, giving more meaning to why you refuse him in the first place. It makes the fight more beautiful especially with Gehrman's theme. Even after playing most of Fromsofts games, I still consider BB my personal favorite and I hope Sony makes a PC port or Sequel someday like we all been wanting.

I do wish Bloodborne does a get a proper support. At this point I'm just asking for a Patch but I do have a feeling their might be an update regarding Bloodborne but only a fan can hope. "But upon replaying knowing the lore, it hits! Rather thinking Gehrman betrays you by fighting you, he wants to kill you by sparing you the suffering he's endured as the host of the nightmare" this really doesnt make much sense when you think about it, sounds like an asspull fromsoft made purely for gherman to be the final boss fight, i personally think bbs lore is its weakest aspect. its basically just lovecraft and stoker edgy fan fiction, speaking as an actual reader of both. the lore has its cool moments like kos and gherman, but most of it is just...meh for me. i would far prefer elden rings take on cosmic horror which actually tried its own thing and wasnt just fanfic, or ds1s deep lore, which i think, atleast from a scenerio and writing perspective, does lore the best.
