You don't need the receiver tapped. There is an integral 11mm dovetail. CZ sells scope rings that fit the dovetail, (other brands do also) and they are relatively inexpensive. Or you can buy a scope base - 0MOA, 20MOA, etc. - from a few different mgrs. e.g., Area 419 that slide onto the dovetail and are secured with screws on the side.
Man I just ordered me a CZ 457 Lux in 22 mag of course. Man I studied it for an hour or 2 before and you’re right, it is extremely high craftsmanship, truthfully, they could almost charge double. I cannot wait for mine to come in next week.
The 457 lux is sweeeeeet! Bought one in .22 wmr. The irons were spot on, out the box. Of course, being a .22 wmr, it reaches out a little further than a 22 lr....so, I put a PFI RR-Evolution-22M scope on it. It's a first focal plane 3-12 power drop compensating scope graduated out to 300 yards, with a rapid ranging feature, and illuminated. ($400, including caps and nice rings). It's sitting on a Warne pic rail. Varmints beware! 10:35
@@GSquaredTacticalwell I did the same. I hadn’t planned on putting a scope on it at first because the irons are so easy. However these old eyes can’t see like they did years ago so I to put a nice tactical scope 4-16x50. I’m a member at a long range club and man it was a joy to stretch out passed 400. I truly believe these firearms will hold their value. I’ve been trying to get a 512 but the guys i bid against must have deeper pockets than me!! Anyways, great video buddy
Just bought a 457 Canadian model, it's got a red walnut stock with the Canadian maple leaf embossed on it in 3 places. Absolutely love the look of this rifle, now to get a scope for it and try it out. The Canadian model comes with a 20" barrel and no iron sights so a scope is a must. In future I'm considering changing out the barrel to a 17 HMR which CZ supply as a kit.
I have the same rifle in 22 Magnum. It's one of my favorites. Love shooting steel with it. Great set of iron sights, which is rare these days. I've actually never put a scope on it because I like the irons so much.
That is what was so shocking to us is how accurate it was with the irons. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTactical Though I'm more into target c.q. competition shooting (pistols and rifles), the energy and content level of this video are my reason to subscribe. Thus, done. ;) Please keep these coming.
I have the 22 Lux but it has the very very long barrel on it I put a Leupold scope on it for squirrel hunting my eyes got bad and I couldn't use the iron sights anymore I used to be a dead on
Yeah I understand the thing about the eyes. I (Gene) am getting pretty bad eyes these days as well. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I'm in the same boat with irons. Check out J&P springs. They make an aperture blade that replaces the rear notch. You can get a three piece set with 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8" apertures. I ordered two in 3/32" since I have several CZ's. I use the Warne quick release rimfire mounts for when I want a scope.
Oh sweet. I had a 17 but sold it because ammo was scarce and expensive. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
is the barrel free-floated and/or does it have a notch on the barrel to fit a screw like old cz 452? thank you PS: maybe you can do a video when you do the disassembly. bye
With one I got 190 gophers in just under 3 hrs. using Velociter, Stinger and Aguila HP ammo. Strangely enough the Stinger ammo shot the best until the barrel heated up- then it'd shoot high.
@@GSquaredTactical Good fortune played a big part in that successful hunt: there had just been a good rain after a long dry spell and the gophers were all out filling up on water.
A local gunshop has 2 of these,,been here on YT researching it.Everyoone has only said good things about this rifle. You may have just cost me some money with this video,,lol.
CZ made the 452 for years, fabulous gun. Then all of a sudden they 'Upgraded to the 455 " not long after, another " Upgrade " to the 457. The upgrades are for the bottom line, not so much for the quality of the gun. I'll stick with my four 452's. Lux, Ultra Lux, FS and a Scout.
Love this gun. It very accurate. But it's not my first pick. My first would be the cz American or Canadian model. It's shorter and just feel more handy to me.

I understand now. But concerning your response to my remark about dry firing a rim fire,I've heard countless gun enthusiasts and even gun manufacturers who recommend against it. That was one of the first things I learned about rim fire. I know there are a few exceptions, but that's the general rule. Yes,they are your guns, not mine. But I have to say,I've made numerous comments on many gun channels, and never received such a condescending response! If you want more people to subscribe, you might want to treat people with more respect. I'm afraid you have a very poor attitude. And I don't honestly see where my comment was deserving harsh. I was simply giving my opinion. Wish you well!
@@GSquaredTactical I have no problem dryfiring centerfires, but rimfires can often be damaged by dryfire. The firing pin makes contact with the barrel. You might want to check that out.
All he would have to do is pull the bolt and press the firing pin, if it doesn't go into the breechface he's good to go. I have watched some heated debates on this, but some 457s do and some don't. Either way it's easy to find out. Nice rifle though man.
I've seen where you've been catching hell over dry firing your rifle. Lmao CZ and Ruger and most gun manufacturers want you to dry fire the gun. Ruger actually recommends you to practice with dry fire no snap caps. To get a really good feel of the trigger. A well built firearm should never malfunction break or tare up just because of dry firing. That's simply a myth me n my own father have argued about repeatedly. So hey guys practice that dry firing all you want to n not that u would but just don't pay no attention to the uneducated. Have a good day.
I know but you know you can’t argue with anyone. As the Bible says…”every man is right in his on eyes.” I have broken the firing pin on a .22 revolver from dry firing, but that was on me because you shouldn’t dry fire a rimfire revolver, but like your said most everything else is fair game and I don’t listen to the people who say differently. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTacticalI think it comes down more to the age of the firearm. Newer firearms seem to be ok dry firing. The 10/22 manual says to dry fire after re assembly of the firearm after cleaning to seat itself. In terms if revolvers, I haven't heard much issues with the Ruger Wrangler but I don't own one, can't say
That’s good to know! I was always taught not to dry fire anything. Then it was not to dry fire anything rimfire. Now all of them get dry fired on occasion because I don’t count my shots. When I store my bolt actions I always squeeze the trigger as I close the bolt in order to let the firing pin down slowly, storing it closed and uncocked.
It’s not your gun so what do your care so much? You are one of those guys in the gun store aren’t you lol. Most rimfire Fidel have a firing pin stop safety anyway.
