I have the caramel baritone solid mahogany, with the electronics and goodies. It's well made the more I play it the more I love it and the better it sounds. I got it off Amazon for right around $140. Great company

Did I need another uke? No….Could I pass up a solid mango acoustic electric for $99 shipped? NO! I got my concert uke yesterday, and was very impressed. A few frets a bit high, but not bad. Action way too high…will address that. Out of the box, extremely playable, and just beautiful! Plugged in, it sounds fantastic with no buzz or hum. At rest, it’s dead quiet though the amp. Not sure if saddle is bone, but sanding it down. Strings look like a clear flourocarbon, so might keep those on for a bit. I usually change them out for Worth Browns, my all time favorite.
I also have a solid Acacia on order for only $79. These prices are nuts for what you get!

Thanks for sharing your experience with Caramel ukes. I think they are swell, too. Rich

@@richdavis4007 Further research found the nut is verified as Ox Bone, and I have to assume the saddle is too. The stock strings are Caramel Brand Flourocarbons! These are things often not found on ukes I have bought costing 3x as much! It seems price and quality do not make a straight line on a chart. Some companies like Caramel are an amazing bargain. Also companies like Enya also make amazing solid mahogony acoustic electrics that are also amazing out of the box for $110 shipped. The trick is to order direct from Enya and the sale price doesn’t show until you put the uke in the cart. I am a huge fan of Enya Ukes, and now Caramel. I also have a Caramel uke bass that is of very high quality with near perfect intonation.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Caramel and Enya. I like Enya all solid and solid tops, the ones for $125 or less. I had a super glossy blue concert I sold. I don't require many concerts and I have a ton of them!

@@richdavis4007 FWIW: Today I went over the Caramel Solid Mango very thoroughly. 4 frets were high, one obscenely high. I filed them all even which allowed me to lower the action. I sanded the saddle from stock 6.0mm to a mind boggling 3.9mm! That lowered action from over 3mm at 12th fret to 2.0mm. The bridge needed oiling badly and really soaked it up! I went one step too far and sanded the nut…a bit too far. Ugh. caramel nuts (Mmmm …caramel nuts) are a bit wider than standard nuts so I had no choice but to shim it back up with .2mm of styrene strips.
In the end a little attention made it incredibly playable, and the strings resonate forever! I don’t think shimming the nut hurt tone at all. I feel the playability is just as smooth as my $600 ukes. It sounds fantastic and even better through the amp. The pick up system and pre amp they use is really good!!
Nobody needs more than 3 ukes…lol….and that’s allowing one for a Low G. But collecting them is addicting, and deals like these are very hard to pass up! I am fascinated with the different woods used, so had to have a variety. I now play with my wife and she likes the Lanikai thin body ukes so I got her two of those. We both play through amps as it’s easier to control volume and get a good mix. So now I’m buying more ukes that are acoustic/electric….whew…closing in on 20 ukes! Running out of room!😬
