Finally a moveset breakdown video. I've been looking for this one for a long time because there was a moveset breakdown video foe Lost Judgment but it was taken down by the owner. Good content!
Something you can do with the jet boots is that if you press X as soon as you’re about to stop boosting, you immediately throw a cigarette without charge up. It’s kinda situational but I found it fun in long battles boosting into a group and blowing them up.
So it’s confirmed the Agent style is mostly rooted in Aiki-Jujutsu. Which style of it, no telling. There maybe some Taido in there as well. But Aiki-Jujutsu is definitely the main root, as his style is based on self-defense and disabling suspects
Great video kyodai! Agent could've been so much more fun if it had a guard parry similar to Tanimura/Snake stance and some MMA style finishing holds and a more robust grapple.
Thank you for this video. I've been writing a novel and plan on having a faction somewhat similar to the Daidoji in it, so I've been wanting to take inspiration from their fighting style. Daidoji style has this almost ritzy, yet practical feel to it, like that of a spy in how they are portrayed in media. And I'll admit, I can be a sucker for that stuff lol
Great video mate, really comprehensive, really well filmed, you did good with recording most things in the empty parking lot. I appreciate you putting time and effort into this vid, well done
Thanks for the moveset showcase, Kyodai. Now i have some references for my Kiryu cosplay if i decided to perfom his fighting style in a cosplay competition
@@TheBanbanGames well, in my in country (Indonesia) idk if this sort of thing also happened in your place as well. There is a competition called "Coswalk Competition" basically it's just fashion show but for cosplayers. And the participants have to show the character they cosplayed in front of the audience and judges for 30-60 seconds. I'm also sometime participate in other competition for singing japanese songs but that's another topic if you're interested. Currently for me, i'm the only the person who cosplays a Yakuza character Mostly as Kiryu all the time since the end of 2022. Yep, i rarely changed my cosplay ever since that time. And probably won't change it until if some circumstances happened forces me to changed my cosplay. And now my cosplay was almost perfect (only if my parents doesn't scold and stopped me from buying a white loafers shoes. But a full white sneakers is already enough since they wanted to make me seems more "Younger" version of Kiryu by wearing a sneakers instead of loafers making me looked like a middle aged man in his 30s) i'll just need a wig/just keep styled my own haircut just like him. Anyway, back to the topic. Since most of everyone in my city cosplay community doesn't know much anything besides Yakuza or have a deep interested with the series besides i did and lack of community for Like A Dragon in my country. I decided to do the research myself and since i felt like Yakuza series doesn't gave any "Special" pose or anything like other Games/Anime/Manga. i decided to demonstrate some it's Fighting Style moveset/Showing one of the 4 fighting styles stances during my performances. (Including i learned Kiryu's every Fighting Styles from Brawler, Rush and Beast. For the "Dragon" style i picked the DE ver. Instead since it's the most closest i can do (i'm not hating the OG DoD but i felt it's just stiff compared to DE DoD/Yakuza Style). (And sorry for the bad english since it's not my first language. But i'll try my best to answer it politely)

@@luisotaviogalvao567 You're wrong. Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name was released on November 9th 2007 and in South Sudan it was called Beowulf The Game 2007
Can't believe RGG made the decision to make agent style combo's increasingly longer rather than the other way round. Fr impossible to do these combos without hetting interrupted by an enemy out of nowhere. What was RGG smoking when they made gaiden fr
Because you're supposed to spider web away the enemies you don't want to focus on then just combo the ones you do. It's not too hard when there's only 2 or 3 enemies in front of you because you can easily hit them with how fast and far the agent rush combo goes. It's also pretty good in one v ones unless the opponent uses hyper armor which is the worst thing by far in the game imo. If all else fails you can intentionally whiff your combo and just hit with the part you want.
@@descendantofartorias2067 bro the hyper armour IS the worst thing in the game its a fact lol. Whiffing combos is stupid as agent style is too slow to do that which is annoying as the final triple finisher has crowd control moves unlike literally every other move it has, it makes no sense.
I didn't have that many problems basically Yakuza: it's good against strong enemies and bosses, Agent: is good against several enemies, especially the weaker ones (area effect). What gets in the way is the armed enemies, this is to balance the game otherwise you'll hit an NPC with 0% intelligence as much as you want.
review these styles imo agent: suck-ass rush combo and finishing moves makes ex-lawyer lmao, you cant even full combo on a boss, *6 FUCKING I-FRAMES QUICKSTEP WTF*
Fun Fact:LJ tiger style is faster than agent style and you can quickstep cancel earlier than agent (ps: agent style is a speed moveset but lose to tiger style, a power moveset)
It's pathetic how combat didn't make a real progress in the yakuza series considering how many games they've made. They should've continued with lost paradise type combat and made it better.
Lost Paradise is also literally superhuman anime, and in the end the gameplay loop *really* doesn't change in it, not to mention the overall game is, while seen as a cool adaptation, considered one of the *weaker* Yakuza entries besides, not everything has to undergo major unrecognizable evolution; if it works, it works, and with how Yakuza/Like a Dragon does yearly releases that evolution wouldn't be possible anyway
The combat did improve a lot, I think you are being blindsided due to not playing the Yakuza game chronologically (the original not a the Kiwami remake). Also, yakuza games are released very frequently in comparison to the majority of game series, so improvement are expected to be minimal from game to game.
