I'm so glad josha has gotten so far into the books and loves them like us
This cast is absolutely killing it as the characters from Robert Jordan’s epic. Can’t appreciate how well done they capture in just FOUR episodes! Can’t wait for more!
seconded. the cast are soooo good
amazinggggg!!! love it so far
Read the books, those are Jordan characters. Perrin isn't a wife killer and Matrim isn't a bloody thief.
Blood and bloody ashes. That's not in the series either. This is WoT in name only, nothing resembles the books.
"what sets this show apart from the rest?" "it's got Zoë Robins in it! " you've got that right, the whole cast is amazing but Zoë Robins is NEXT LEVEL in her scenes!
They have all been strong, but if I had to name the one actor at the tip-top of my list so far, it's Zoë Robins.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Josha is going to be an epic Rand
I've waited for this show for 20 years and here it is. Can't wait to see how this season ends!
I’ve been reading these books since the mid 90s and I am so very happy about the job they did for the casting and the storylines and the visuals are just stunning. I can’t wait for more people to fall in love with this incredible world Robert Jordan created for us.
Absolutely attracted to Lan in this show, he just has that demeanour. Its a good thing he didn't audition because he is one of the most renowned actors ever and he is just perfect for the role
Amazing show and amazing cast. 👍👍 and shout out to Barney Harris who has been incredible so far as Mat. So sorry that he is not around for season 2
Great cast, and I love how much they get the characters
The casting was spot on. I feel like they cast the characters as themselves.
Is there a petition for bringing Barney Harris back ? He's an absolutely amazing Matt
Daniel saying the series could last 6 years if things go well and I'm over here hoping it lasts 14 + a prequel movie :)
Yes, and no.
A lot of the text in the 14+ books can be cut for the movie adaptation, especially during the slog. That said, the path the first season puts the characters in now, needs to be woven with care. Could we go deeper into lore etc absolutely, should we? No, infodump filler episodes suck for a reason. Too much exposition and not enough payoff.
At the same time, try to avoid a GoT season 8 style ending if ya can. That's like the modern poster boy for how NOT to wrap hundreds of small threads. :)
Everybody is fucking killing it. Everybody/everything is either how I imagined them or better than what I had in my head. I seriously don't understand how some book fans don't like the show.
Talented, talented people. All of you. Daniel, you were meant to play a Hero. And Ladies! You guys are amazing. Thank you.
It's nearly impossible to do a series of this size without cutting corners. As long as the essence is there it will do very well.
Honestly, I'm really excited to see what this cast does in the future of the series. (I'm gonna miss Barney!) I feel like we've only seen the very basics of their acting skills and it's going to be so much fun watching them grow. They have a really hard job ahead of them, but light! I can't wait to see it!
I knew going into this show that I would love Egwene, Moiraine and Nynaeve, because I loved them in the books. I was surprised that the show has made me care so much about Rand, Mat, and Perrin, characters that didn't resonate with me in the books. So, shout out to the these actors and the writers and everyone who put all of this together. You've made me care about _Rand._ That's nothing short of magical.
I've never liked Rand either but now I definitely do! Looking very much forward to hopefully being able to like both Min and Elayne in this retelling of the story...
Same but with different characters, i'm a big Rand, Mat and Nynaeve fan but i never enjoyed Egwene and Perrin that much. As of now i'm really liking all of the EF5 group in the show.
@Anne Day I don't find Egwene "annoying" in the least, and can't fathom why anyone else would.
Matt was my favourite so far... hopefully the actor they recast to play him will work out well.
Love this cast
I love hearing their real accents! Love how they come from all over the world.
The cast is perfect. I was so Skeptical at first, but damn. My only wish is that they slow down and take their time with the story. I really like the first 4 episodes, but they’re going too fast. I don’t see how they can get it right in only 6-8 seasons. It’s gotta be at least 10-12.
It has been great so far
The casting is amazing, already missing Barney Harris 😓😓
Not gonna lie, he is putting in the best performance so far, I haven't seen this week's episode yet but he steals every scene that he's in. Very sad he's leaving.
You all are doing great!
It looks like Joshua has gotten buffer from season 1 Ep1 to 4... Is it because he has started to learn the sword?
He has started to learn the gym
Barney you will be missed. Carrying the show so far and he's the smallest (physically) character.
I have not read the books yet. Fully intend to now! I am really enjoying the show this far! This cast is amazing!
This show is so amazing and I really loved it
They two rivers is like the County... the village is Emond's Field... named after King Aemon. They haven't mentioned it once in the series :(
The show isn't only for us hardcore readers. Many of the millions watching don't know this world, you can confirm it with youtube reactions of the show, so many names are confusing them which makes sense, thats why the writers decided to name it The Two Rivers.
Done deliberately to try avoid non book readers from drowning in proper nouns. The name of the village is a nice touch in the book, but not essential to the story in itself.
I think Rand is the dragon reborn
I read some books from the Wheel of Time since I was at the beggining of my adult phase. The first book I read from Robert Jordan was not The Eye of the World. Funny enough, I read The Path of Daggers first. I think it was the eight book from the series which I got at a book fair. I liked it and found the first book from the series in the library. It is true that high fantasy was very trendy in the 9ies and although there were lots of stories very similar being published at that time, it was a good trend indeed. In my oppinion, I liked Terry Goodkind books the best and I was disappointed with the tv series they made based on his books. It could have been much better and no wonder the tv show only got 2 seasons. I dreamed that one day movies and tv shows based on these authors' works would be made and I waited for that for about 15 years. Altough I am too old to fall in love with these stories like before, I am so glad and relieved that this dream came true. I think that Peter V Brett also deserved a tv show based on his books from "The Demon Cicle" series. And how about His Dark Materials tv shows? I was another dream come true that It was made into a tv show. I has an amazing quality and a very good team cast.
Great actors. Totally wondering if they have all read all of the books. Then if they are enjoying the desecration of Robert Jordan's story.
Yeah so obviously the story departures and the season 1 ending were…. Questionable. However w our Covid restrictions, new found popularity, AND the cast now being behind the story having read it will really help get season 2 back on track narratively
I've been waiting for 22 years for a WoT tv show! I'm still waiting. The show is getting slightly better each episode but it's like a WoT tea bag was placed into a cup of cool water. We've gotten some flavors, but it's mostly something else.
Isnt it remarkable that so many fans express absolute joy over the series yet critics are still trying to paint ther show as a GOT wanna be... Certainly some fans would prefer the changes to be minimized but msot seem to be willing to accept change in order to see this series come to the small screen!
The one thing critics miss is that GOT didnt get super massively popular until season 2...
Did each character have to read all the novels to gain a complete understanding of this extremely detailed world? Or do they simply follow the scripts put forward by the production team? I believe that this is a fantastic world put forward through the authors and this team of actors and producers are putting forward a beautiful adaptation and it is highly enjoyable without any prejudices. They are getting as close to the books storylines as possible. Congratulations it is a beautiful TV series and I look for to following it through the next 8 to 10 years. Thank you
I LOL loo
Why did they play the trailer with sound over top of the interview? That made things difficult to hear and distracting. Very odd choice.
Love the Series, love the cast. Would like to see better character development. Looking at this series if I hadnt read the books I would be kind of lost. For those that havent read the books I can see how they would be lost on these characters. I want to see this series be successful so we get to see it go from beginning to end without the terrible GoT last season syndrome so I think there needs to be more connection with characters and not so fast on the story progression.
I just read the first book and actually character development in the show is probably the only area that the show does better then the first book. Due to the limited perspectives in the book you don't get a lot of the character moments the show gives us. Matt's, Lann's, and Nynaeve's development in the show I would say have been developed much quicker in the show then they have been in the book. Obviously if you read more of the series you get a lot more of the characters overall and they are better developed overall.
I haven't read the books and am enjoying the characters, it's like any new tv series really, got to have time to really love the characters
@@ambermurray2496 This ^
@@ambermurray2496 It is the fact that they are being so broad with the scope that I feel like the characters get lost. However it is only the halfway point of the season. And if they are trying to get all of book one and the world development into only 8 episodes then I do get the pacing.
That’s funny because my casual friends who don’t read the books love the characters already
The guy who played Matt isn't returning to S2! Why not??!!
I heard, but don't quote me, that he refused to get vaccinated so Amazon fired him.
@@whitestar3564 oh I see
INTERESTING details! I only want to hear about the mundane details! 🤣
1:14 "As Lan Mondragoran". LOL! You should proofread your titles, this isn't the Lion Witch & the Wardrobe.
I’ve seen his name spelt “Mondragoran” quite a few times, including on IMDb and even in the show’s credits when the first episode aired (it’s since been corrected), and it definitely sounded to me like he introduced himself as “Lan Mondragoran”. Apparently a hangover from auditions or something?
😂 brilliant
How sad that a great actor ensemble is not allowed to make a great series, and instead we're forced to have this shit-show, fucked up story and mutilated characters. Despicably abhorrent writing and directing!
Thank you for pointing the truth. The level of denial from people is astonishing. They've messed up the boys and the show about the woman. The first part of the books is the Boys. Turn Perrin into a wife killer, he is not the bloody blacksmith, his wife was. We don't see him make anything, Matrim into a girl shagging thief, in a small village, that would happen he would be strung up by the woman circle and beat by the men. The important characters removed, Elyus, the Seeker, Boyle Domain. Thom the gleeman, doesn't even have the mustache or tumble, no high chant.
What are these people, who supposedly loved the books watching. It's horrible.
so weird seeing a blonde peach-fuzzed Rand... and where the hell is my favorite character *MAT?*
@Anne Day love it.
Couldnt make it through the first episode...
Then why are you here and why are you watching this?
Dragon can be a woman now! lol How dumb. Show writers didnt read the books and dont understand the world. Thats the problem.
I think Rand is the dragon reborn
Don't worry, it's not because they didn't read the books (they did, while I would've preferred it they kept it the same, it is a new turning of the wheel where I'm sure they'd have some misunderstandings. Besides, Balthamel became a woman but was still someone who could use Saidin.), but rather because they wanted to add some mystery.
@@kid_eisenhorn9438 True, if it doesn't change the outcome then we can just talk it up to ignorance of the people from the 3rd Age, maybe if they go more in depth in the prophesies when they get to the Stone of Tear things will be cleared up then
It doesn’t have to follow the books exactly
You know what's really dumb? Spending any amount of energy on something you hate as much as you hate this show. Go outside. Have a Snickers® bar. Do _something_ else. Find something that brings you joy, and focus on that.
If the show isn't for you, it isn't for you. But a lot of people really love it, and that doesn't take anything away from you, does it? Why come here and be hateful about it? You still have your books, go read them again.
It could have been so much better.
But we got low quality CW instead
Exactly. It deserved so much more. It deserved to be left alone from studio notes and allowed to just exist as an accurate translation of the characters and themes and feelings.
@@andy2069 as someone who's read the series more times than I can bother to count I have to disagree. I think they're doing a very good job with the adaptation. If you're not liking it then don't watch.
@@themostfowl I'm sorry everybody has a right to critique a bad show that doesn't do anything remotely similar to the books other than the names
@@themostfowl I don't understand why people keep thinking adaptation equals good
@@anthonyturner791 well there's definitely a lot more than just names that's the same. More than what's different. If you can't even admit that then you must be watching the show through a wall. Approaching adaptations requires the correct mindset. It can't be the books you wouldn't even fit a quarter of eye of the world into these 8 episodes if you did that. There's a reason we use the word adaption. Media doesn't translate 1 to 1 between different mediums. I think Jordan would love the show personally. The show has the same support he had when he wrote all the books. If his editor and wife is involved and on board that should tell you all you need to know.
Made a ton of changes that they didn't need to. I just pretend like its not the Wheel of Time and try to enjoy it as a fantasy show. Because it's not the Wheel of Time.
I find that actually sad i bet theyre gonna destroy LOTR series also.
I cant even enjoy it as a fantasy show, the writing is horrendous
Most of the changes really aren't that big a deal. The main story is unchanged. Considering how Jordan loved the concept that stories are unreliable because they changed every time they're passed on, I don't have an issue.
That is a sweeping statement without enough base. If you want it to be the books on video, that is unrealistic. There will be changes to make the story look better on video. IE visual effects of actually seeing the one power, changes in the story to gain a larger audience, like opening the Dragon Reborn to maybe be a woman and add more mystery. There is so far still the core of WoT in this series evident here.
@@chuckfiero yeaaaa. Thats not what is happening and those changes no one has a problem with. GoT didnt have this issue because the writers were reverent of the source material and thats why it was the biggest show in the world for a while. I like WoT even more, but I dont think its going to be as big because of this horseshit
