Hi Alexa, your tips were all useful. I just posted my 10th UA-cam video on June 2nd and I guess I can no longer claim beginner status! Ha! I did try in my first 10 videos to experiment with a few different topics (early retirement, slow living, and my new UA-camr journey as a GenXer) and the YT Studio analytics tell me that of these 3 topics my audience is only interested in one of them - early retirement. I confess to being a bit sad that I can't branch too far out in different directions with my channel, but I do understand the logic with the algorithm. It actually helps me - now I know where to focus my time and energy. No need to make more videos on topics my audience has no interest in!
You had mentioned in one of your earlier videos that you live in Finland and I thought that was so interesting! Like how did you end up there, how long have you lived there, where do you live, what is it like being an American there? I would be so interested to know more about these things. Have you given any thought to creating another channel that is a vlog style on being an American in Finland? You would attract an entirely different audience. I think there are many Americans who are seriously interested in moving abroad and would like to know what it is like to be an expat in Finland, which is constantly at on the top of the Happiest Countries lists.
I follow this couple UA-cam (Grounded Life) and they have several UA-cam channels, and each one has its own theme and revenue stream. It is more of a time commitment but they seem to enjoy it. I guess that is one tip to earn income on UA-cam - have multiple channels!

I’ve been considering exactly what you wrote - serendipity maybe? ☺️ Thank you for the idea confidence. I think I will start it actually, because I am incredibly passionate about living abroad and raising my children here and how wonderful living abroad is (and the difficulties), but yes I think you have been the final push for me to start that channel! Woohoo. 🥳 As for your channel you could start there in the retirement zone and then branch out more once you grow. Are you passionate about early retirement? I think that draws quite a range of folks. So that’s great! It’s really nice to hear from you and learn about your journey. 💛

How do you do a clickable survey at the end? I've never heard of or seen that.
You can create a survey/poll in the community tab. I think it is only available to those with 500+ subs. You can create it in your video in the cards section when you upload and you choose poll instead of video or playlist. You can also do this later if you want to add it to an already posted video. Just edit video and go to cards and add a new one. Hope this helps! Xoxo

One is totally fine and expected I think when you have few subs. So just go for it and don't overthink it too much! If you want to wait and upload a few at once, that could work too. But there are usually so few people watching in the beginning it doesn't matter that much. xoxo

Just wondering, by any chance would you be able to help me (and my wife) with something... we are literally starting our new holistic-wellbeing-coaching business (called Aligned Harmony) and we are looking to have a successful UA-cam channel as a significant part of the work. I'm looking for a mentor really as our need is to get going quickly. I understand you will be probably quite full with projects, but I imagine you would find our project interesting.
