i like the distinction they make of whales having a "different language" because whales aren't fish, they're mammals adapted to the ocean, it's a fun detail at least i think so
That is cool, though I'm not sure if that explains the turtles and birds.
Then again, Dory only started "speaking whale" when she realized he probably couldn't understand her, so maybe most of the other animals are bilingual.
@@CJCroen1393 if we want to try and think real deep into this then I suppose a good explanation of why they make the distinction with whales, but not anything else is because most of the turtles and birds we see are ones that would probably interact with fish in one context or another fairly regularly and we mostly only see them in the context of talking to those fish sparing a couple throwaway scenes so bilingual does make sense, though we have officially crossed into almost definitely thinking deeper than the writers intended territory, my original comment already half assed bordered that line to be fair
I never noticed the scratch on Nemo's egg in the beginning. Now his fin makes so much more sense

When I first watched this movie as a child I thought it's just the flash of light but then when I saw it a few more times, I figured out it was a scratch on the part as his hand. It made too much sense then.
One message I love from this film and the next one is Dory's ability to keep through despite her disabilities. Her "just keep swimming" is such a good message for kids with ADHD or problems with their mobility and capacity to socialise. She sets an amazing example on how never to let your disabilities affect you.
Finding Nemo is one of those movies that doesn't have one singular most emotional scene. There are many emotional moments all throughout, and they are all as powerful as the last.
I’ll never forget 8 year old me fast forwarding my VHS past the prologue for a while because I found it too frightening LOL
Even all these years later, the prologue still makes me uneasy. Between the music, tension, and the shots of the barracuda. IMO one of the most terrifying openings in a Disney film.
At least he got his desserts in Toy Story 4 LOL

Finding Nemo was the absolute first Pixar movie I’ve ever watched as a kid and loved it. I’m 17 and the part where Nemo and his dad reunite still makes me cry
Me too it’s so special to me for that reason. I think it’s partly why I’m so close with my dad. This movies message of a father and his child really resonates with me :)
Fun Fact: Crush was voiced by the director of the movie Andrew Stanton and he did all his lines laying on a couch to really get into his laidback personality.

Fun fact, in real life when the female clownfish dies the male turns into a female, so Marlin should’ve gone on a gender change journey throughout the plot if we were 100% biologically accurate lol
Film Theory has a vid on this, stating that Marlin's increasingly courageous behaviour is more in line with a clownfish female (the dominant one in the group), so he may actually be starting the transition before our eyes :P
And then I'm pretty sure the now female Marlin would mate with Nemo. Not exactly a kiddie friendly story 😂
Not only that, but they also mate with the next male in the generation. Maybe that's why he needed to find Nemo so badly....

Actually, Cody, the anglerfish in Finding Nemo is a girl cause only girl anglerfish have the lure (the light it used).
Plus males are six times smaller than females. They are tiny.

You know, I always found it weird how the kid seahorse is “H2O intolerant” cause he literally LIVES underwater.
He always sneezes which is not how that works. Intolerant and allergic are two different things. Maybe they should have had him say he had a mild allergy to anemone so he sneezes around Nemo but chose to stick around him anyways.
This is such a classic movie and holy crap that beginning is still one of the darkest ways Pixar started a film. It's heartbreaking but it's understandable why Marlin is so protective

Did you know in the opening scene when Marlin was fighting the barracuda it says that male clownfish doesn’t fight or help female clownfish to defeat any dangerous sea creatures. Which means Marlin is not a male clownfish in the inside he’s a female clownfish which explains how Marlin fight the barracuda to try help his wife Coral to save many children as she can.
Not even a female clownfish stands a chance against a enraged barracuda, that thing will bite Marlin and Carol in half like a meat chopper
This movie was soo good awesome i always watch this movie with my mom all the time , the ending always give me tear up when nemo and Marlin was saying goodbye to his each other and nemo giving his dad a big hug

Fun fact: Bruce is named after the Great White Shark from Jaws.
It would be funny if that were literal and Bruce is actually Bruce Jr and that’s why he doesn’t know his father and hates humans because they kind of blew him up lol
Fun fact: In the original storyboard of the movie, there was going to be a scene where Coral and the eggs were seen inside the barracuda's mouth, but it was later cut because they thought it would traumatize little kids.

Marlin claims to have traveled the whole ocean. He only travelled the distance of the Great Barrier Reef. Which is still a lot.

This is the movie that inspired my URL!! ; U ; And honestly, the first Pixar movie to come out after I decided I wanted to go into animation AND it involved another huge love of mine in marine life. It definitely shaped me in a way. ❤️❤️
I rewatched this film recently and I haven't since it in a while. And even though I didn't cry, I felt a little choked up near the end when nemo is on the net and Marlin apologies to him.
I like how the one fish just says "I'm obnoxious" as his disability, lmao. A self-aware king.
Fun fact: The scene where all the fish swim down together to escape the fishing boat, according to the DVD commentary, was based on something that really happened. Apparently, the was a news report about a school of fish that did exactly that at one point.
Fun fact: Darla's theme is from Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". Plus, the scene of the seagulls hovering over Marlin and Dory at 17:42 is resembled after Hitchcock's "The Birds".

man, i love finding nemo! its so good as an allegory for disability and not over-sheltering your kids. the whole movie really feels like it was made to teach parents a lesson more than the kids

The. Pelican flying to the glass was my favorite parts and when the dentist pulled off the guys tooth I laugh hard all the time because of his face before he screamed
