      How is it! I have one. First car! I'm SO GLAD i decided to buy a Miata. BEST DECISION of my life. Even in it's stock form like mine it is the most fun car i've ever been in or driven. And it's mine! Enjoy your Miata! It will give you many years of joy and happiness. It's a trouble free sports car!

    LOVE My Miata IRL. Did so many runs in this NA on Trento. Been awhile since i've dropped into a GT Stream! You probably remember me. Hope to drop into a few streams soon! I agree with you on the sound. The sound from my 1.6 Miata is very nice and spirited, Especially when you get it up in the rev range. The sound from the MX-5 on AC does not sound like a 1.8 BP at all. I managed a 14:03 on this track in the Miata once i mastered the course. Nice driving!

    Nods in agreement about the Bilstein shocks, my imported '94 S-Spec had them too. They gave a very direct feel but yeah so crashy. I used to commute 80 miles a day so when my back finally gave up I stuck a set of rebound adjustable Koni Sports on instead. Still nice and low but much more compliant! Finally sorted out the last remaining rattle too (replaced a bonnet hinge) so it's almost too civilised now haha. Nice vid :)

    Wow I love watching this Trento Bondone Hillclimb on UA-cam! For the really fast cars (Christian Merli, ex.) these sharp turns are blind. And the climb is pretty steep: there’s something like 1500 m elevation change. The scenery is breathtaking.

    I also own an MX-5. I completely agree with you about the sounds. The real car has a lot more induction roar, and of course there's a lot of wind noise. I think the sounds from the mod were far more accurate than the Kunos ones.

    It's always great when you find one of the cars you have or had in a sim (or simcade). So far I only met three. My then current 944 in Forza 2 (but obviously the Turbo whereas I had the 1984 "I" version), a shamefully overlooked Porsche model, a Kadett C Coupe in Dirt 3 which felt very familiar despite being about 7 to 8 times more powerful than the one I had - and a 308GTS in Test Drive - Ferrari Racing Legends, which was the one time I had an actual stronger version (and the coupe, GTB, not the targa) in RL.

    I own a supercharged Mk1 MR2 and when I drove my buddy's Miata I realized what people liked about them. The MR2 feels a bit more serious compared to a Miata. It almost makes me want to buy one...almost.

    I think i'd have the same enthusiasm if project cars 2 or similar brought out BTCC from the era as the TWR Bastos Rover SD1, I had a Rover Vitesse 3500 V8 Twin plenum which was a great car to drive when it worked right lol, it had poor brakes but you could drive it like a hooligan until they overheated and it sounded awesome.

    Great video! May I suggest that possibly moving the field of view slightly backwards might help the experience? I say that because if you could see in game that the windshield (windscreen) isn't attached to a roof, it might help give more of that convertible sportster feel. I don't know if that might help or not, just a thought. Thanks for sharing this video... oh, and what on Earth do you have under your throttle? Subscribed, thumb'd-up.

    theres a program where you can change the stats of the car i.e. change how many gears what gear ratio and i´m pretty shure you could make it a "welded" diff... It´s called "Assetto Corsa Car Tuner"

      and then you can create a new Tune for the "ks_mazda_miata", click on advanced Tuning, select "drivetrain.ini" and change the settings how you like 'em!

    • @Artics
      @Artics 7 років тому

      Practice, don't over do it, and remember the true purpose of it. think of it like this, less is more. I don't mean braking pressure but the amount you actually balance the gas and brake. Idk, that's what helped me at least.

  • @ben6993
    @ben6993 4 роки тому +1

    I can’t drive the MX-5 in AC, every time I brake or change down the car spins uncontrollably, I’ve tried blipping the throttle whilst changing down, I must be doing something wrong. Any advice??

    • @chris14151
      @chris14151 4 роки тому

      Lightweight cars can spin when hard braking into a turn. Brake hard before the turn and heel and toe into the corner.

    • @snowjix
      @snowjix 4 роки тому +1

      Just to add one more thing to chris' explanation. Brake hard before the corner and as you start turning in, ease off it slowly. Think of it like this:
      While braking you're ideally using all the traction of the tires. So if you keep the same brake pressure as you turn, you've suddenly introduced more forces for the tire to handle and it'll spin. Whether thats understeer or oversteer in your case depends on the car.
      Driver61 has a great playlist (5 vids or so) where he explains concepts such as this. Helped me understand it alot better.
      Hope i helped :)

    • @dhoffnun
      @dhoffnun 7 років тому +3

      Car sounds in AC are hit and miss in my experience. Some of them sound both realistic and exciting - while others like this Miata here are a bit generic and boring. My best buddy has this exact model - and I have to say, Forza 4 did a much better job of accurately capturing what the first gen MX-5 sounds like. As far as realistic (or at least awesome) car sounds in games - I think I'd probably give that crown to Dirt Rally (except for the conspicuous lack of doppler effect!)

    I need a tip, how can you enjoy Assetto Corsa? Going from rFactor to this feels like leaving Nicole Kidman for fucking Oprah.

    • @MrTornadoman97
      @MrTornadoman97 7 років тому +4

      I mostly enjoy it as a sim you can enjoy but not be so hell-bent on realism (as compared to rFactor). Load it up with car mods and just do online track days/races. Sometimes people don't know how to race, but when they do it's a really good time.

    • @danielebrambilla2290
      @danielebrambilla2290 7 років тому

      Ryan Lynch Well, I appreciate you found time to answer me. What I mean is the feeling on Assetto Corsa not only is fake as fuck but it's actually pretty annoying, driving a fast car feels absolutely unrealistic and scripted and from my standpoint for a sim it's a no-no. Even the sense of speed, Jimmy can think what he likes, but on rFactor at least you can hear the wind and the head movement makes everything wobbly and shaky, whilst on AC the camera stays still and totally fixed to a center point on the horizon. Especially with slow cars on uphill tracks (or "hillclimb", whatever) after three corners I'm bored to death. I like hardcore simulation, or Mrs. Kidman, in this case. ;)

    • @miy1925hassun
      @miy1925hassun 7 років тому +3

      Daniele Brambilla Daniele Brambilla I think we should gibe where the credit is due though. Assetto Corsa has a pretty deatailed physics and tire model which models things that rFactor doesn't like flatspots and chassis flex for example. They also model turbo and hybrid engines where, again, rFactor just doesn't(there has been work arounds for turbo though). About the camera shake is customizable in Assetto Corsa just like rFactor so you can make it shakey if that's what suits you. About the wind, I assume you're talking about open wheel open wheel cars because I don't think there is the wind in a closed cockpit car as it should be. That said you can also adjust the wind sound in Assetto Corsa so Kunos has got you covered there too. On the physics side it changed from car to car really. Some rFactor cars, despite their age, can be just as accurate as Assetto Corsa(because ISImotor2 is just badass that way) if they're done well while others... Well, you get the idea. AC's also got a pretty sweet car roster right out of the box and has rallying so that's also a plus. However if I had to pick one of them for my simracing needs I would pick rFactor because of the much better AI(on mods that I like playing at least) and mods for GT1 cars(which are nonexistent in AC for some reason at least a decent quality one), especially the excellent Endurance Series mod, early 2000s V10 F1 cars(of which AC only has one) and DRM Revival. Oh and also the WSC 1970 mod.

    • @danielebrambilla2290
      @danielebrambilla2290 7 років тому

      Hasan Özuğurlu I know you listed all of these good features about AC, but in my opinion they're all non-existing, or at least they're not on a better level than rFactor 2. Flatspots are perfectly recreated on rF, honestly, as well as chassis movement... Not only, you have the entire tyre air chamber perfectly simulated, so that you can see when a tyre is flat or even punctured. For the hybrid and turbo, they ARE in rFactor, as far as I know; at least turbo, I'm 100% sure about that one. Of course, the only problem is the content, because on AC there's a huge park of official cars, on the other side for rFactor it's mainly third-party stuff, but 90% of it is absolutely top-notch, so I can't see the problem. Online-wise, rFactor 2 has such a great community built around that it's impossible not to find yourself at ease on it, while on AC every server has categorically that one asshole that wants to ram out everyone. AC graphics are better looking, yeah. Not that much, tho, I see 397 on the right path for DX11.

    • @miy1925hassun
      @miy1925hassun 7 років тому

      ***** While I admit I forgot about them(even though I love them actually) the real problem is that I can't even race them against each other since they're from seperate eras and there are significant differences in their pace. And there will be again once MC12 comes out.
