From the very first time I heard this song it ministered to me, in so many different ways. Firstly for me to be singing all the gospel songs in the world and pretending to have a connection with Christ, only to know that my sins overshadows my connection. Secondly knowing Jesus' name and He not knowing mine - which means He does not even have a clue of who I am (spiritually) and therefore my name will never be written in the lamb's book of life. Thirdly for me to get to the gate and because I am "unknown", then I will be not be allowed in, hearing the words "depart I know you not" is not what I am working for. The second verse states I don't want to be preaching but not believing, how many times we have seen preachers giving one message but living another life totally contrary to what they preach? I do not want to be such a one. My life must be a constant example of who Christ Jesus is. The next line says I don't want to keep running, tripping over my sins, myself - for all the effort I am putting and everyday I keep sinning, doing the same evils over & over, constantly seeking forgiveness for the same things over and over again - I must be able to drop off my wicked ways and "die daily" as according to Paul. But most touching is again getting to the gate and being told to depart as I am not known!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Kelontae - so inspiring are your words. I have shared it among my church family and it has touched them greatly. BE BLESSED!!!!!!!
