DOA2: Dead Or Alive 2 - Bayman Time Attack playthrough

Played on Normal difficulty, and this is the EU PS2 version. Also I had to record this one on 30fps because I couldn't get progressive mode run right, and Elgato HD60 doesn't cope well with interlaced videos, so this will have to do for now.
Anyway, Bayman is an unlockable character from Japanese Dreamcast version and onwards, although he isn't available in story mode. Gameplay-wise he's similar to Leon as both share the same fighting style, but Bayman still have couple of unique attacks and grabs of his own, making him pretty fun character to use.

Long time no see, Raivop. I'm thinking about getting this game soon, and I wanted to ask a couple of questions regarding the UPS unlock method.
1. Does the number of times you play as a character in other modes (e.g., Story, Time Attack, Team Battle) count towards unlocking other costumes/characters?
2. Even with a profile created, do the original unlock methods work? Let's say you have a profile and you collect ten stars in Survival Mode. By doing so, you would normally unlock Tengu after Bayman is unlocked. Does this work even if you use the UPS option?

Hello. Nice to see you again. Anyway, using UPS counts chraracter usage in any mode. And as far as I know, I think the original unlock methods still work, even if you use UPS (According to this guide: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/197067-doa2-hardcore/faqs/11483). Unfortunately I can' really confirm it myself, especially survival ones, because that mode is absolutely pain in the ass, haha. Come to think of it, I need to record DOA3 playthrough, once I manage to order a component cable for the OG Xbox.
