Hey there, Awesome video. I just had a doubt for chall1 which is that in the disassembly of _start, there is no explicit mention of the _loop function, then how does the execution continue to the _loop, since generally there is some jmp or call instruction to redirect to another part of the code. I'm new to assembly and debugging so i'm not sure how that works. It would be great if you explain this to me.
Hey a big fan here too ! The best thing yet is to practice I think. Try not to use decompilers and use gdb for example on programs u write and debug them ! Check this playlist and check the other playlist of microcorruption if u are interested in learning some basic exploitation/rev.
@@ir0nbyte Checked it out + subscribed! I've messed around with selenium + automation and some web scraping w/ python in the past but I'm gonna start applying for tech jobs starting next month. Been grinding data structures +algos for a week on leetcode, discovered CSES thru your website and now I'm planning on going through those as well. What else would you recommend?
Hey there, well you can't use c's because in the read syscall we are reading 0x14 = 20 caraceters. 20*'c' won't pass the 0x988 check the first few lines on how the read syscall was made to understand what i'm talking about.
Nice try man, but you are rambling a lot as you are not 100% sure yourself. Beginners are not going to be able to understand what you are doing. You should be more structured and explain stuff properly. Some things you just gloss over.
Thank you for your feedback, the video was just one of the videos that I started with. By looking back at it and on the last videos that I made I can spot a difference. But overall, I guess a lot of people understood the concept since many liked it and I even got good feedback in PMs.

I put it in my watch later. From the title it's content that I'd like to watch, but the pfp sealed the deal.

Thank You !
Why does it only work with z (chall1), aren't we only concerned with the 0x988 there?
E.g, how many c's would give the congrats?😢

@@ir0nbyte although it might sound stupid, try to do longer pauses if you have to, blanks are usually preffered as opposed to "onomatopoeias"
