Wow, crazy story about the rifle being out of alignment. I'm glad you could use your sidearm. Well done! 4 hours back to the vehicle wasn't bad, given that terrain. Ryan , Im so happy for you!
What a great adventure in a wild and untamed land and good to get a result and have a shot, thanks for the trip, thumbs up and greetings from Down Under, Tony.
This is the hunt I have been looking forward to seeing. I enjoyed that more than an easy successful hunt. Good to see the struggle and how you adapted to use the pistol. Great job Ryan
@@FreeFormFlyFisher Oh yes... Nothing worse than that feeling when you're in the field. So glad it worked out though. Anxious to see those brookies in your latest video!
What a hunt. I could feel the frustration. Guessing you were high the whole time. Congratulations buddy on getting the goat. I can’t imagine how exhausting that was
@@RaisedOutdoors Scouting made me think that I'd get one lower down, but it wasn't in the cards. Still happy I was able to fill that tag though. I was definitely frustrated when I started missing. Glad I had a backup for sure! Thanks Glen👍
I had to rewatch because even knowing the story beforehand, It did not even occur to my tired mind that that last shot was with the Glock! 😆 I’m an idiot. The hunt is somehow even better to me now lol
That was an awesome finish. Had to be getting frustrated after missing so many., but your persistence paid off. I was getting short of breath just watching the video. Haha. I don't know if I could handle those high altitudes. Some beautiful views from there. And plenty of wildlife. Great job.
What an awesome trip... such a magnificent landscape... glad you and your buddy got some goats. Your shooting reminds me of the Eastwood movie a Fistfull of Dollars... you sticking with the glock over the rifle... Hope the goat taste great Ryan.. congrats on the mountain goat! You need to mount that head.
@@excursionamericaexa Dropped it off with my taxidermist the next day👍 Also, we just finish goat curry for dinner. It's actually terrific meat. Crazy thing is, the other guy that got a goat barely knows me. Just good people. Thanks for watching Dave!
What a wild ride! From the bikes to the misses and everything in between. To still come away with one, even tho not the one you were after…what a remarkable story. And to get one so close you could have used a bayonet or just gone hands on is makes it even sweeter! These are the hunts most memorable anyway. The ones you’ll be telling the grandkids about…and even show em in this case To just go and shoot the one you were after on the first day woulda been so boring LOL
I feel so bad about the missed shots with the rifle. How far of shots were those. Looked like a close piatol shot at the end. What a cool finish - so happy for you!!!
@@DCOutdoors Between 50 and 100 yards for the rifle shots. Should be slam dunks. Pistol shot was close, but that was also zoomed in, but yeah... What a hunt!
The forest service has the road closed for construction. That's why I did all my scouting on the other side of the unit. We were able to get past and get our goat. Colorado Parks and wildlife suggested this to the other tag holder, but I didn't consider it until he proposed it.
So, did you camp out there? I was tired just watching 😂 Cool 🫎 moose sightings. Do you have to draw a moose tag? What gorgeous country! What's the day time and night time temperatures? Beautiful goats 🐐 looks like yall were so close to them. I can't believe they let you get that close. Congratulations yall. 👍👍👍👍
@@WholeOtherLevelOutdoors Plan was to camp, but we harvested both days, so then we headed back home. Moose tags are hard to come by. It takes years. I got mine last year, but that was luck. Temps are all dependent on elevation, but it was 60s down low during the day, and probably 40s up top. Night, possibly drop those figures by 10-20 degrees. The goats are used to hikers and rarely get hunted, so that part is good. They're pretty skittish now that I let off so many shots up there 🤣
That's a bummer for your scope being banged on the rocks. It's so incredible seeing all those moose!! Where are they when we're moose hunting, though? Haha. Impressive view up there. That pilot must have a thrill flying above the mountains like that. I'm out of breath watching you out of breath 😂. Congrats to the other guy for getting his goat. Nice looking animal!
