Chana Masala | Chole Masala | Chickpea Curry | Easy Recipe

Chana or Chole Masala is one of the most popular delicious chickpea curry consumed with both Indian bread varieties like roti/chapati/naan/bhatura and rice varieties. The mix of fresh roasted spices provides that lip-smacking flavour along with the aroma is worth the time spent to prepare this curry.
Over the years, I tried various proportions of ingredients to get that wholesome deliciousness perfect every time in terms of look, flavour and aroma. It is easy to prepare - as indicated in the video, boil the chana to its consistency and use its water along with the fresh grinded masala in the process. Ingredients:
Pressure Cooker:
1 cup Chana
2.5 cups Water
½ tsp Salt
Chana Masala Powder:
2 Bay Leaves
2 Cardamoms
3 Cloves
2 inches Cinnamon
2 Dry Red Chillies
10 Peppercorns
2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
2 tsp Cumin Seeds
Gravy:
3 tbsp Oil
1 cup finely chopped Onion
1 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
2 cups chopped Tomato
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
½ tsp Salt
2 tbsp Coriander leaves
Good to serve about 4-5 people.
