Great interview with sincere and intelligent questions and replies. Guess your skill on track will attract the better rides.
As an aside did a Calculation of Jockey outcome blending finishing positions and expectations with a minimium of 100 rides and included apprentices. The scores are set out below which gob smacked me about the collective level of outcome skill. There was no tapering off and one could almost throw the silks at anyone at the race course and they would do a good job.

Arithmetic cannot determine ALONE performance or capable to evaluate the benefit of knowing a stable, horses, courses, strength, track craft and fighter pilot skills. But feel it apt to mention that Holly and Laura are close to the top of group B. Getting down to earth being a jockey is a trade akin to being an electrician, plumber, nurse, chef but is far far more glamorous. I don't hear commentaries of Sparky going for the recharger and flash home to get up in a shock result at 500 volts to 1 that sees a 20 quid punter run off to the bookies to collect.
So to all enjoy the adventure but for newbies who may not make it along the way train a bit for a back up trade for when retiring or getting injured. Racing is a fantastic but also unforgiving sport and so high octane that retirement is not easy. Probably impossible. Keep your eye open for options down the track and then after. Media is so boring and patronising asking soppy questions to people who respond with scripted answers.... you're a too genuine lass for that caper. Note how Nick was respectful and waited for an answer and only probed to further understand a topic.
Just keep steering hopefully the best horse in the race to win and if you get beat accept being the victim of circumstance or error as part of Fate. Even then the job is not over as you will learn and advise connections how their charge may be improved on and or off the track. An example may be a horse who is not happy in the stalls may be "I rode a horse for another yard and they put stalls in place of a gate so the horse and babies got used to it by going through with the mare to the next paddock for water and/or feed."
Reality is that generally the best horse wins the race and if you are on the best horse be sure to "own" the race and "own" the outcome whatever that may be as you, the horse and trainers are always evolving.
Needs to start getting better rides on the turf, she’s doing well with 20/1 or more shots
G1 winner and several stakes winners on turf, nothing to crib at without a high profile job as such
With Jockeys like Holly Doyle and Rachel Blackmore it's only a matter of time where the gender of the jockey will be meaningless.
Agree, and the sooner the better. For instance could you imagine Nick Luck interviewing Tom Marquand while Hollie was riding overseas and asking how he was coping?

Unfortunately, Horse racing is the most corrupt sport in The Whole Wide World. The media are complicit. The jockeys are as corruptible as fuck. I can understand the trainers wanting their horses held up to get a better handicap mark, because their whole business depend on it. The BHA are also complicit because if they were to act, it would bring the whole thing crashing down. So everyone keeps quite. I mean it’s only the mug punters being shafted and who gives a fuck about them? So along comes Holly. A real breath of fresh air. She wants to win on everything. If I owned a horse I’d rather have Holly ride it than Ryan Moore. It’s actually hard to believe how highly regarded he is. He seems to not give a fuck win lose or draw and most of the time he looks like he can’t be bothered. I must just add. The BHA don’t seem to mind owners who have members of their own family abducted and imprisoned against their will. That’s fine. But have stupid picture taken sitting on a dead horse and they’re coming down on you like a ton of fucking bricks. I wonder why?
