So glad that KJT was able to bring it & win her 2nd WC Gold Medal! Can't wait for KJT vs Thiam vs Hall vs Sulek @Paris '24 🔥At 28, Taliyah Brooks with a 12.61 100mH PB & 6.78m LJ PB should seriously consider committing to one of those 2 individual events given the sheer amount of DNFs she's had in her Heptathlon career to date, it's an insane amount of DNFs!
I love Kat and am so glad she won. Worked really hard. Didn't perform so well on the first day so we had almost given the gold to Hall because she's better at 800, Javelin.....but KJT came back. Congratulations champ
As someone who's watched, pretty much, her entire career so far, it's been far from a smooth ride (from the early promise, to the disappointments, to the many injuries & mental struggles she's had). But nobody can take away how much she's improved in her weakest events (I still remember the regular 11m shot puts & 36-38m javelins) & how much heart she's shown to fight back from a torn Achilles & become world champion again. She's truly ascended to being one of the greats of all-time.
Many years since that surprised look on starting blocks at London Olympics by a very young lady at all support they gave her. Since then the cheers are louder
What an unbelievable performance from KJT . Although the scores where not high , she put herself in the mix and her determination and competitiveness did the rest.... so pleased for her....not many deserve some luck and success than her !!!
Congratulations kjt ,must say these mixed race people are so good at heptathlons and decathlons ,that's their specialty,I have my twin boys here warming up to represent Canada
Very hapy for KJT for the 2nd world title.. It's sad Anna Hall fail to prevail for Long jump.. but, Anna a very strong contender for the gold at Olympic 2024..
The athletes that specialise in any one of these events (esp the throwing events and the long/high jumps) are leaps and miles beyond the hep athletes and you can see that from their body types too - more power and mass. And they can't be specialist in the more athletic events i.e. hurdles/running. Hep athletes' body types don't suit the power throwing exercises but they suit the running more. They can invest time but their bodies aren't tailored/trained for that, there are limitations (mostly for javelin, shotput, long jump, maybe high jump?) but that's exactly what makes them special as all-rounders - also they need to compete flat out for 2 days and need the mental side for that time also. A bit like tri-athletes, I have admiration for multi-discipline athletes because it takes MORE than even a single event, to be good across the board I believe. Going for a single event may be easier (depending on event).
. @MrOldun That's the answer. The BBC do not like winners, that's not being inclusive. Let's just mention the loosers like Asher Smith in the 100 mtrs. More interested in her nails, fashion and music rather than competing.
Meanwhile, back in the real world of women’s sports, after the Women’s World Cup nonsense, KJT completes one of the greatest injury comebacks ever. Fair play giirrrrlllll.
I’m English and confused. If the UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the athletics team is called Great Britain and Northern Ireland, why oh why on earth can the team not be simply titled team UK??? Makes little to no sense. Team UK would save an awful lot of arsing around cramming that enormous team name onto the vests. As an aside by the time they’ve attached their numbers the Northern Ireland bit disappears beneath and all you can see is Great Britain, which is at best disrespectful, at worst insulting. Our country is so stupid sometimes.
She's lost/not yet regained her sprint speed fully since her achilles rupture. She was about half a second down on her best times in the hurdles and 200m
Achilles injuries are tough mentally too, you can subconsciously take the foot off the gas by 5% (sometimes more) scared to suffer another injury on it and that makes the difference. But she competed nevertheless - mentally as well as physically. A hep is not about any singular event and she knows that from experience - she cracked on with the other events and kept herself in contention - and that kick on the final half of the 800m to claw it in - just wow! It wasn't a processionary 800m for the gold, she had to find that extra gear to win it and she did. Amazing win!
Her near perfect height and weight ratio, looks, posture, fluffyless, lean and fitness makes her a min 7 at the least and she knows it. To think she is not even in her prime!!! Ah wow, one can only hope she naturally has a matching feminine character, yet to get run through as opposed to today's self destructive ways that tend to permanently damage most women.
This is a ridiculous amount of things to be good at. Amazing. 🇬🇧
It is a ridiculous amount of things to be average at. You see that Javelin throw. My 14 year old cousin can throw it slightly further.
@@M-Dawg-kk4ls Well theyre women, of course theyre not as good as men in these fields
@@lollius88 my 14 year old cousin is a girl. You sexist
@@M-Dawg-kk4lsthen why isn’t your 14 year old cousin at the world championships if they’re that good?
Well done Kat! A true fighter, inspirational 🇬🇧
Just brilliant for this incredible athlete. You made GB proud. The NBC commentary here in the states has been diabolical.

I love Kat and am so glad she won. Worked really hard. Didn't perform so well on the first day so we had almost given the gold to Hall because she's better at 800, Javelin.....but KJT came back. Congratulations champ
Her problem has always been the mental part especially when doubts due injuries and extracurricular stuff.
She's so talented.

Amazing Athlete, well done KJT!
That 3rd attempt at 1.80, 2nd attempt at 1.83 and 3rd attempt at 1.86 were ballsy as anything.
So happy for KJT.
such a sweetheart.
congratulations johnson thompson
I became a fan and supported them since the last Tokyo Olympics. I learned not to give up till the end
Many years since that surprised look on starting blocks at London Olympics by a very young lady at all support they gave her. Since then the cheers are louder
Impressive. Hearty Congrats, Ms. Johnson-Thompson. Kudos from America.
Being good at one a sport is hard enough but being able to complete across seven track and field events is pretty impressive
Happy for her. Its been a long journey back to health and Thiam has been a thorn on the side.
Congratulations Kat, great job!

Probably would have got a whooping by Thiam

If the time invested by hept athletes training on 7 different sport is invested on one sport only. Imagine how good they will be.

Yeah she athletic like Anna of USA and nafi of Belgium
Nafi Thiam didn't participate !
Not fully back to her best, but still a great achievement. Fingers crossed for Paris 2024.
shes a good girl
I have been stunned by the BBCs and Skys silence over her great win. They mentioned Zharnel Hughes Bronze but KJT.....nothing....WHY
i could not agree more it was all the girls football and they lost no mention of KJT a gold medal winner

She was literally interviewed on BBC Breakfast.
When she ran that great 200 metres. Something just woke her. For the remainder of the heptathlon.

yes and little mention of it on tv news

Gdyby nie ciąża co by się cieszyła Adrianna sulek złotem. Niech nie będzie narzekała jak powróci po ciąży i nie będzie już medali.

Playing it safe on a risky event. Also the Americans were just so good, her performance seemed worse than it actually was.
