After watching Chihayafuru, I wondered if there are matches of competitive karuta. This made my mind blown! Their hands are fast! O_O

The difference in the coverage of the Master's match vs the coverage of the Queen's match is striking. Hell the men even have commentators lol

@@mangosday it was the queen match and it had very simple coverage and graphics until the master;s match was over then they suddenly for the like last 1/5 of the match had all the better stuff

54:49 I find it incredible how the Meijin upped his speed so much to take the card. He lost the previous card because he was slower to get it even though he started moving earlier so all he just goes "all I have to do is be even faster to get the next one" and he does it so simply.
岸田さんが｢ひとは｣と｢ひとも｣、｢もも｣と｢もろ｣を隣同士でくっつけず、中段と下段に分けた理由を知りたいです。
早い段階で「ひさ」が読まれました。つまり「ひ」と読まれれば「ひとは」「ひとも」どちらも取れます。くっつければ自分も取りやすくなりますが相手も取りやすくなります。
かるたも色々な種類がありますが、名人戦レベルとなると『攻めがるた』が基本だと思うので
（粂原さんは異なる）くっつけて一字決まりにし相手に狙われるよりも、離してどちらか一方を取る（「ひ」と詠まれ相手が「ひとも」を取る間に自分は「ひとは」をとる）方がいいと考えたからだと思います。「もも」「もろ」も同じく。

岸田さんはこういう時引いて調子を崩さないようにするタイプなのでそれを利用

序盤の出札が明らかに名人に有利だから岸田さんのやりたいことがどんどんできなくなってる印象

Im sorry but i have a question. Are both Torrifuda in each territory are the same? Or different?
They are different.
The cards named Ogura Hyakunin Isshu are used.
They are 100. But, 50 of them are used randomly.
And 25 cards are set in each territory.

取ろうとして、取らずに全然関係ないところ叩くの何ですか？
それは｢空札｣です。
競技かるた全部で100枚札がありますが、自陣と敵陣25枚ずつ、合計50枚だけ使用するので、残りの50枚は読まれても陣にないので取れません。
関係ないとこを叩いているのは｢素振り｣というものをしているんだと思います。
これ読手さん誰ですっけ

The correct card was in the challenger's territory, but the cards in the Meijin's territory were moving a bit.
The challenger claimed that he touched the chanted card earlier and he didn't make otetsuki.
On the other hand, the Meijin's claimed that the challenger made otetsuki.
NOTE:
- Accoring to the official rule, if the player didn't touch the card in the wrong territory directly, it isn't cosidered as Otetsuki.
- This rule is effective even if he(or she) eventually moved the cards in the wrong territory indirectly by the situation like the player was continuously touching the card in the correct territory then the card collided the card in the wrong territory.
- The Definition of "wrong territory" is the territory in which the chanted card isn't placed
The referee concluded that the challenger touched the card earlier but he made otetsuki, so he received one card from the Meijin.
Actually the challenger didn't make otetsuki because of the rule above, but, surprisingly, the Meijin touched the card earlier! You can see that on 50:04. So the referee's decision and the result attributed to the actual situation were in agreement (the challenger have to receive one card) by chance.
To supplement, It is extremely difficult for the referee to recognize such situation correctly because there is no slow-mo tools provided.
