Aside from how badly they suck at playing, I actually like a few of their songs and they do seem passionate in what they do. I'd like to hear the same material after they all learned their instruments. :)
***** You got a dark sense of humor, James... I was already referring to the studio recording. You can't base the quality on a lousy phone's pickup. heh, noisy riffs. That's definitely a soft way to put it. XD
***** Error might be a bit miss-leading. When someone like me say that they suck, it's usually in regards to how their fans interpret music with little to no musical experience. An example could be the terms "experimental and innovative." I even once heard someone who genuinely believed they had brought back punk from its' roots. Why these claims are pretentious is because since the 80's when you'd able to hear this kind of music all over Copenhagen especially from the band Sort Sol, hundreds upon hundreds of bands have been copying that particular style ever since and even to this day, if you take a look in the Danish underground, you'll find out that there's nothing new about Iceage. They use an old format that has been gone over and over.
***** I do not intend to pick on them, and I think it's fine if anyone enjoys listening to it, but I feel like it's my solitary obligation to raise my voice when someone can practice the guitar a few weeks, write a bunch of shallow stereotypical lyrics, yawn into the microphone and then be put upon a pedestal as something remarkable. I'm just sick of hearing how talented they are. You can't just suck on a guitar and then after say *"oh uh well actually I hit all those false notes on purpose. I'm trying to sound really angry and chaotic, even though I have nothing to complain about."* Talent doesn't work that way. You gotta somehow know what you're doing. Also I don't use the word ripoff cause they don't rip off anyone particular, the sound is simply just a cliche in the Danish underground.
***** The amount of years you've played doesn't determine how much you practice, and you're absolutely right, until I hear any valid reason for why they hit random false notes other than the fact that they can't help it, I think they are an overrated high school band. You're wrong, there're no genres that infers sloppiness as a standard. Punk is about anger and rebelliousness and the reason why people play it sloppy is because nothing more is required. Music defines the genre, not the other way around. You can't excuse it like, *"Well it's punk so it doesn't matter they can't play."* You should always judge what you hear, not what you're told. *(By the way, I think it's pretty funny how we're just letting this pointless thing roll. Hope I'm not offending you) :)*
Fantastici!

***** Easy dude, you gotta admit a song like ecstasy could be decent enough if you had some skilled musicians on it.
