That is NOT an exhaust leak. That is a carbon seal about to let go. Do NOT ride that ski again. That is a carbon seal that is about to fail. If it does your ski will sink. There is a recall the new 2020 seal is larger and fixes the problem.
You sir are 100000% correct i got in contact with my dealer after i saw this and they said they replaced it under warranty when i had the ski winterized in their notes. Thanks for looking out!
@@TaskForceOffroad Put some white masking tape over the sling spots. Go ride. Pull deck and make sure you have a THIN line. Some sling with a new seal is normal. But should be a THIN LINE. The tape will let you see what is new. Check every 2-3 rides and if sling goes away after a few rides your good to go check yearly. In fact with that machine all you have to do is take ski pole cover off and stick a light down the hole and you can easily see.
@@TaskForceOffroad I have finished installing the depth finder. It works on my dash but displays ---- Does yours give a reading of number when sitting on the trailer?
@@TaskForceOffroad I want to let you know my father was helping me with it. We did the jelly pad backwards. It is not sticking to the bottom but it is sticking to the sensor.
i would prefer epoxy over 5200 for that application as i think the 5200 will let go then it will damaga the sensor........I see your from ma and riding in da habaaahh
What part number is the depth finder you installed? I have a 2020 RXT X 300 so same hull and would take the same unit. BRP's website does not show a unit to fit 2020's and I know the GTX Limited still come with a depth finder. The wiring harness you had and glue down bracket is the same that would fit mine.
Task Force Offroad thanks. Do you know if that can be installed on any Sea Doo. I have a 2020 GTI SE 170. We’re on the Hudson River and it’s not clear water. It’d be nice to have for getting in close to shore. I feel it should be standard on every model. Check out the videos on my channel.
Greg Faucher you can install This on all models the process and part numbers could be different for your 2020 gti i know you won’t need to glue the bracket down you just have a few screws
Task Force Offroad ok cool. Thanks again. And by the way great advice telling people not to install the screws with the screw gun. I never use one to install on soft surfaces. You see people ramming that shit in all the time.
Do you have any video on how that depth finder works out on the water? Also great info, ill save a lil cash doing that myself. I see youre in taxachussettes too🙄
Id say its accurate enough to give you a good idea of where youre at. A few times its been super off but im more inclined to. Think that was because i got an air bubble when i installed it and that can easily be fixed by just removing and reinstalling the gel pad
i’m a tech at a seadoo dealer having this same issue- looking at BRP knowledge center seems like it has to be in water to be active. Also if installed at a dealer make sure they removed both protectors on the gel pad, as the foamy protector is tricky.
Discobiyatch for a time being I’m sure it would work however you are bound to get water in there at some point and I’m not sure if you plan on using your ski in the ocean but I’m sure salt would eat that glue away and eventually dislodge the depth finder I’d say better safe than sorry and just use the marine grade calk
Thanks for the video. The foamy side protector was not removed from our depth finder when it was added to our new seadoo. I fixed it by removing the foamy side protector and put it back down. I actually got 2 seadoos with added depth finders by the dealership and haven't checked the other one yet to see if the foam pad was removed on it before it was put in place but they both show the same depth tested to 9 feet when side by side in the water and seem accurate based on depth charts for the area that I tested.

Norman Ross Jr. this is great advice i will 100% be doing this before i take it out the first time this year thanks for the tip🤘🏻
I realize I am quite off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch new movies online?
@Jonathan Harlan Flixportal
Great video, makes a real change to see a well made video with clear instructions and no nonsense talk for hours 👍🏻
Thanks for the comment glad you liked the video!
Wish you showed it working on the water..
My dealership put my depth finder on, my dealer added into my deal on my 2021 PX. I’m
In TX so it’s a must have.
Nice yeah the dealers will install all seadoo products which is nice!
Will this show water temperature too ?
Thank you for the video! It will help me install this depth finder and feel comfortable during the installation.
Andrew Fazz that’s awesome to hear I’m glad it helped let me know how the install turns out!!
@@TaskForceOffroad I have finished installing the depth finder. It works on my dash but displays ----

Andrew Fazz Yea it does if you put like a bucket up to it and empty bucket try that if it you might have air bubbles in that gel pad

Any way you know the part number for the depth finder kit you installed ?? Very good video,,, I have a 2019 gtx 155
Great video👍 thanks for sharing 😊
Looks like carbon seal
Dust not exhaust

Haha ph yeah I’ve ridden all over the north east but buzzards bay is mostly my playground
How do you get it to work once installed mine does nothing
I waited about a day or so and then it just started working
What's the part # for the depth finder? I looked online and can't find for a '19 GTX
Monica and/or Mark Grill the part number is 295100927 let me know if that works out
What part number is the depth finder you installed? I have a 2020 RXT X 300 so same hull and would take the same unit. So no drilling hole in the bottoms of the ski? This works through the hull? Maybe stupid question but curious.
Correct and correct the gel pad keeps air out making a seal that allows the transducer to work snd no holes the silicone acts as your sealer
Love the animation add in however what was the torque bit size used?
T-30
I thought you were going to show it on the water lol. How did it work? I’d heard it doesn’t work over 5 mph. Is that true
The reading is definitely off when going fast but the main use of this especially for me is to ensure I’m not in water to shallow to run the ski

Is it possible to mount this transducer and the transducer for the fish finder? Is there enough space for both
Unfortunately im not familiar with the size of the transducer for the fish finder so i cannot say but there is a good bit of space there

I have a ‘21 sea doo gtx. Is that a ‘21? Do you have any videos installing a garmin gps? I like the 170, but im ready for the 300 super charged
Oh yeah gotta love spending all my money on taxes lol i dont have any videos of it out on the water but it is fairly simple to use
@@denismcmahon5769 this is a 2019 155 so the engine is a tad different between this and the 170 but other than that same ski! The 300s are beasts

@@TaskForceOffroad thank you for the response. I’m wondering if you can add the ski module or the scom module into this relay as well?
Hey I just got mine installed, but nothing shows up on the dash. What did you end up doing to get it working?
Try just in plugging and plugging it in but honestly i just let it sit for a day or so and it just started working not entirely sure why to be honest
