My favorite thing about Rachel, and the camera isn't in the right place to see it, is her smile as she plays. She is overcome with joy as she plays, and that is so delightful. I try to feel that same joy when I practice--in an effort to be like her. Her spirit is pure light. Thank you, Rachel, for sharing it with us.
I've been a classic rock lover forever and a contemporary music concert pianist who also does piano versions of classic rock songs as part of my rep for 50 years...Rachael blows me away. I LOVE all the keyboard-heavy classic rock bands and enjoy coming up with piano versions. And, her mental catalog of other awesome musicians' work, across several genres, is just amazing. She even knows the stories behind the artists at the level of a music historian for goodness sakes! I just love her spirit, energy, and knowledge and I would love to study piano with her, from her. So good! Looking forward to watching her grow and become so very famous!!!! :)
Like many of us, I got into Rachel Flowers via my life-long interest in ELP which was heightened after Keith’s passing. She is truly a special talent. Loved her picking out South Side of The Sky by Yes! She is an interesting person and a gift to us all!

i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
This kid is just awesome, I have down a Rachel FLowers rabbit hole for a couple of hours now, and the first clip I listened too was just amazingly awesome, and each clip after has gotten better than the previous
There are those of us that play music and there are those special ones who inspire us. Look at the excellent interviewer in her presence when she played Zappa. Amazing.
Such a wonderfull interview of this extremely talented musician and singer. She is so humble innocent and down to earth. I love the fact that she didnt came up with all kind of spiritual ideas though the interwier tried to turn her in that direction several times. Its all natural to her. And so sweet to see her exitment after her performance. She is so happy.
Hi Rachel... Discovered you here on UA-cam whilst searching for some ELP guitar by Greg Lake, FYI I've interviewed Carl Palmer for a radio show I created and syndicated. I feel blessed to have found out about you and even more listening to your playing of music I came of age with in high school and college in the late '60's and '70's. It's so wonderful listening to you play... Rock On young lady, ROCK ON!!!
This is a 7 year old interview with this artist. Did you think you were writing to her? Do you think she is going to get your... letter to her, written in the comment section of a video of an old interview of her, like she would be reading this? Really, I have to wonder what you're thinking leaving a comment like this... here! Seriously...
This was great. Nice seeing the "person" side of RF. It doesn't hurt that I have all of ELP's albums and about 40 zappa albums, so I TOTALLY get why she digs both those bands over others. RIP my favorite male vocalist of all timer Greg Lake(picked up on him with King Crimson) and one of my 4 guitar heroes(RIP FZ)(jimi, santana and Robert fripp are my other 3 guitar heroes), so ya, go Rachel!
This amazing woman is a natural conduit for musical excellence... first time I've heard her speak more than a few words. I grew up with ELP music and so to rediscover it through Miss Flowers so many years later is a gift.
I have loved Rachel Flowers since the first time I listen to her playing. My admiration don't stop growing. I hope she live a joyful life. And get all the good things she deserve.
When she started Greg's Favorite I just closed my eyes, it was the best thing to do in that moment... and what a feeling... how can she... how... how...
ELP, Zappa, Sting, ... all mighty fine popular tunes. But, The Who "Drowned" from Quadrophenia? Not that well known. But one of my faves. I love all the popular covers, classical, jazz, and especially progressive rock covers from Rachel. On my next payday, I will purchase all three of Rachel's albums that I never knew existed. (I'm a new fan and follower, but loyal forever!)
Rachel’s music is so touching ...even for me - and I am an older guy. Also the interviewer is such a cool guy with all the right questions and credible responses...
Amazing talented Piano Player and how she gets around on the Piano with ease and has a multitude of songs in her memory. Thanks for this great video interview. take care.
Great interview. I thought your question & conversation style were totally sensitive & helpful. You let Rachel's personal side show comfortably much more than one might see from just virtuoso videos or even 'Hearing is Believing'. Thank you so much.
The Song that got me fired. Welcome Back my Friends..... ELP will always be one of my all time favourite bands. I am actually proud to have lost my job because of "Seven Virgins and a Mule, keep it Cool, keep it Cool." In Canada, I will probably never teach again because of this song. Rachel you are fabulous. Keep the flames going.
I suggested to NPR, that they'd do a piece on Rachel a long time ago. Rachel's talent is such a gift to us all. Great to hear her share her music with the masses. Terry Gross... are you listening? ;-)
... What this bright star that landed on our poor teeny-tiny planet cannot play magically?!?... This interview made my eyes wet... But ... with an uplifting feeling.😇
Ooh I made it 777 likes - "spiritual.." I just Love the way she makes this giggle and dance once she nails a piece - its wonderful... Hey I met Lemmy twice in dream dimension...
My youtube algorithm seems to be out of sync with your output, so I see your work in a nonlinear sequence, am seeing this tonight at 23:30 U.K. tIme June 2021. And still, you never cease to amaze me and for the second time I realise you have a wonderful voice. It about time a label should pick up upon your exemplary talents and allow you to record your own material, but please keep doing the ELP tribute work.
Frank Zappa was born Dec 21, 1940, died Dec 4, 1993. Rachel was born Dec 21, on Frank's birthday, 1993, 17 days after Frank passed. I would love to hear Rachel play Inca Roads. On piano or guitar. However she can do it. Would love to see her play the flute also and hear her thoughts on Ian Anderson. Frank Zappa and Keith Emerson are my all time favorites. Now Rachel has filled a small void and eased my grief.
If I met the talented Rachel, I know exaktly which record I would give to her: Jan Johansson 'Jazz på Svenska' (Jazz in Swedish). Lovely Swedish folk tunes in unique Jazzy interpretations. Rachels style reminds me very much of that historic record.
Rachel has an unusual mind that is not an everyday mind. Her laugh is like stars twinkling. When she celebrates at the end of a particularly rockin' piece, her joy is so palpable and physical I want to jump up and shout. We are lucky if we meet even one such person in our lifetimes; when we do, it's up to us to make the effort to speak and understand _their_ language, which, in Rachel's case, her universe long having been lit by the bright sun of Music in a way that those of us with more everyday minds and talents may struggle to imagine, can be overly limited by words.
This person retorts that after she is questioned about her age states that she is 22. I assume that means that she admits to being 22 years old. NO WAY IS THIS PERSON'S AGE 22 YEARS OLD...AND...OUT GOES THE SO CALLED ARTIST RACHEL FLOWERS. THIS PERSON IS AT MOST 11 YEARS OLD. THAT IS MY COURTS OPINION AS ME (James Chakeres Honors Graduate) PRESIDING.
Rachel is what she is. A phenomenally brilliant musician. Oh, and…. Beautiful human being.
My favorite thing about Rachel, and the camera isn't in the right place to see it, is her smile as she plays. She is overcome with joy as she plays, and that is so delightful. A Great Wonder....purest musician wonderful‼️❤️👍👴🍕🍷
Beautiful. It would be great if Rachel recorded it full on ELP with Hammonds, Moogs, Lake & Palmer style
Dude just shaking his head.......shes amazing
Amazing
Love U, Rachel 😍❗
Her own composition, Greg' s Favourite, played here at around 40mins, is wonderful. I'm off to find that album...
Please, do you send me a link where is possible to find the score of composition that start to 43:20?
Thank you so much
Aiyeeeee! She was here? I wish I knew about this back then!
delightful
In the future musicians will want to play her originals.
I want to listen to her playing drums!!! Pleeeease!!!
Drowned by The Who was unexpected but magical. She is as extremely adept on guitar and bass
Big heart

Totally agree 🇺🇸😎
I agree too. Thank you.

NPR hates you too.
Zappa and The Who - my two favourites.
Love “Greg’s Favorite” because I love Debussy…and to me, it feels like that.
her original music reminds me of Lyle Mays!!...

You'd have to be blind not to see her talent.
Rachel performs magic starting at 20:27
Rachel is a wonder, but interesting how she never mentions her years of piano lessons with Grant Horrocks of SCCM.
I would love to see her play with pat mathemy
Rachel is the girl Robert Plant wrote about in "Going to California".
Does Rachel have originals? 👀
The album they're talking about is all original. She plays all the instruments.
Ok!!!
It's strange how child prodigies are fairly common now and much more talented across the board. Population increase? I don't know but it's fantastic.
Probably population wise, but there are also more resources that are accessible to the public.
Invite her to Kennedy Center!
Why don't you?
I'd love to hear Rachel hook up with some other great artists of her generation. Maybe Tal Wilkenfeld and Anika Nilles?
Looking forward to hearing some phish and dead tracks
How she remembers whole pieces of music--???
Ian Anderson other wise known as Jethro Tull a great flautest
The band is Jethro Tull.
