I don’t think people these days realize how effin’ cool Bryan Adams is. Rugged, honest, great music, the whole package. I blasted “Run To You” with my windows down and every vehicle at red lights gave me a nod or thumbs up. I’ve never met Bryan but being a drummer myself, I appreciate the arrangements of most of his songs. He’s the man.
To be honest, many underground artists, including those I may not know, I always have respect for those who wrote music prior to the digital age of recording, considering it wasn't easy, but it gave them flexibility in their creativity with the amount of notes, keys, pitches, tempos, and music theory to go along with it.
I graduated from high school in 1969 and this always brought back memories of those wonderful days. And then I learned that this song wasn't actually a reference to 1969 but about some "other" 69 :)

Adams has announced as much from the stage, and even appears to sing ‘me and my baby in a 69’ during the song’s outro." “The song is a bit autobiographical,” Adams explains, “but it’s really about summer love and, in my, case being a musician. I love the song Night Moves by Bob Seger, which is about getting laid in the summer, and I always wanted to write an answer to that. There is a huge misconception that this song is about 1969, but it’s not. The reason I chose 69 is because of the sexual position.
