  • In 1914, Salvatore Ferragamo left Italy, aged just 15 years old, to seek his fortune in the United States and realise his dream of becoming a famous shoemaker. After a few years, through word of mouth the young Italian from a little village called Bonito in the South of Italy was unable to keep up with the demand for his product. In 1927, Ferragamo chose to return to Italy and set up his business in Florence, the capital of Italian elegance at the time and the centre of Italian leather craftsmanship
Today, Salvatore Ferragamo is a public company with revenues in excess of $1.3 billion. However, despite evolving from a single individual to global team of over 4000 employees over its 90-year history, the same spirit of shared passion, teamwork and respect for individuals and communities established by Salvatore Ferragamo’s first partnerships with Florentine craftsmen continues to define the company today.
Now, in partnership with the brand, BoF goes inside one of Florence’s greatest craft-based businesses to discover the secret of its success.

I love Ferragamo. I have two pairs of their lace ups dress shoes, and I treat them as if they were my children. I’d love to build on my Ferragamos, and develop into a beautiful and enviable collection.

They talk a lot of sustainability....... I wonder, does Ferragamo destroy old stock as well, like Vuitton and Burberry?

Milan was the capital of fashion but the crown was taken away from it by France with Marie but in 1950's with the help of Giovanni Battista Giorgini an Italian entrepreneur it retained it's Crown back with jewels he bought American buyers there and put Milan back on track did the shows but there was still an exceptional case Pucci was know at that time but he did not helped put Milan back on track that much as GBG did and I will through BOF that these monolithic Milan design maison should thank him,not there dad's and moms and Grandpa and Ma's.

This brand brings memories for the wrong reasons. I knew a girl that dated a guy and swindled a bunch of these shoes. Even an apartment and BMW M3 E93 convertible.

Good video but wow, what a Ferragamo puff piece. Somebody threw BOF a good chunk of money to have this ad made.
