@@ARagTagHooligan they said in the past they don't see it as weaknesses, they see it as luke and going on his speed rather than constantly comparing him to other kids, the ofc doctors do that tho

I know I’m so far behind but I’m watching old vlogs to fall asleep and I just have to say...Christopher’s relationship with Bailey is so precious and special. I lost my father at 14 and I am envious of their interaction talking about the piano and guitar lessons. Such a fantastic father. Also, how lucky is Luke to be born into the most wonderfully supportive and patient family. Any child would be lucky to grow up with these people but there was no mistakes in giving them a child who needed a little extra love. Great job, Jessica and Christopher, those children are so lucky to have you and the world will be lucky when those kids grow into adults. The world needs more people like that. ❤️

I wear these things called splints they are basically braces for your legs which help you to straighten out your legs, I get to pick out my favourite design on them! They can’t help me walk anymore, but they are very helpful! Also, I do this thing called hydrotherapy! Hydrotherapy is where you go in the pool that is heated, your muscles relax from the warm water and it is strictly forbidden for you to go in cold pools... as it makes your muscles tense up, but don’t worry I’m sure you’ll do great!

Hey Jessica! My 4 year old sister has severe autism and she’s nonverbal as well! She goes to ABA therapy 5 days a week where they work on basically everything, and she has occupational therapy for 1 hour one day a week. To help with her communication, we use a speech board that she pushes a button and it tells us what she wants. Some people are against it because they think it makes the kids less likely to talk, but we’ve had so much success with it and she is able to tell us what she wants and recreate the sounds that the board makes so she knows how to say the word for next time. When she was very young, we used sign language, which didn’t end up working out for our particular case and that’s completely fine. At this point, we have no idea what she will be like when she’s older, but we are so lucky that we can give her the speech device. When Luke gets older if you want to look into it, you can ask your occupational therapist, but if you’re against that kind of learning or not into the board, that is completely fine!! Different things work out for different families, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for you guys!❤️

Luke (and all the kids!) Is just so cute. My son had a profound speech delay at ages 1 and 2 but by age 3 he has advanced speech. Sometimes they don't follow the path you think they will. He needs his chromosome testing still when it is safe, but he has a condition called Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (VEDS) and we were told his might come with brain malformation. It is also a rare disease and unfortunately life threatening. He was diagnosed only with autism prior to this. Getting with groups of other people that share your child's rare disease makes a huge difference.

My son has Autism and is non verbal (still the loudest person I know lol) he is 18 now, don’t worry your Lukes parents, if speak comes that’s amazing but if not then that’s ok too and he will find his own way to communicate with you, my son has always had an amazing relationship with words so will just finger spell the words on my arm or type them out on his iPad, you will understand 99% of the things Luke will communicate with just like you understand a toddler, you know the sounds, you know your son, it’s almost second nature. We started with Portage (play therapy) at 18 months old, it was an amazing resource to have, not sure if it’s still around nowadays but worth a look into.

I trully think you guys are the best family Luke could ever have landed in. Your kindness, your mutual support, your everything.
You're doing an incredible task by showing us his beautiful development, I can't thank you guys enough for letting us learn with you. Not only for people with children who have similar conditions as Luke, but for all of us to get to know how other families look like so we can be a bit more understanding and a bit more of a better person.
I don't think you realise how much you're doing by being so informative and such a beautiful family all together. Thank you, for real 🖤🖤

our son is autistic, adhd, and spd......having a good team is 🔑 especially doctors.....that keep on top of things and connect with each other as a team. once they hit school age its important too that outside therapists and doctors communicate with school. my son is 10...but mentally 2 or 3. We have worked hard to get him to 3 or 4 word sentences so I hear you❤ i didn't hear ma ma or mom until 5 and didn't eat solids until like 3 or 4. tough road for sure when kids have special needs. Luke is adorable....such a happy kiddo.
