You've got to love how Nic Cage *fully* committed to those scenes. This would have been back when he was a leading man too, not the more eccentric Nic Cage that came later.
Arnold's strange noises( and his speech) have become their own thing, to people. Many love to mimic his voice, and say various lines from his films. Both because of him being a big star, but also due to his Austrian accent.
Many famous comedians remarked about how funny Arnold was. They actually suggested that he do a comedy film, after spending time with him and realizing what a great sense of humor he had. It was those suggestions that led to his comedy films such as Kindergarten Cop and Twins. Arnold proved he could do more than just action films and was great at comedy.
I'm not sure if you are aware but Arnold's English voice sounds strange due to his Austrian accent. It actually gave him a lot of hardship finding roles as an actor until the first Terminator movie which made his role playing a robot from the future more convincing. Even stranger despite speaking German fluently his voice is dubbed in German as well due to his accent as well. From what I understand someone described it like hearing Larry the Cable Guy in a serious role.
I read somewhere his normal accent is pretty much American now but he does voice classes to keep the Austrian as it's his brand. Dunno how true it is but it makes sense!
@@AbiElectric Yeah part of me doubts the truth of that, since just because you live in a country for a long time does not by any means indicate that your native accent will change. My boss is 80 years old from Korea and speaks in a thick korean accent. But she has lived in the USA as a citizen since she was 22!
@@shui_og Changing one's accent, in my opinion, depends on several factors. One of the top is probably when you moved to a new country, the younger you are when you moved the more likely you'll be able to speak the new language with no accent. The other big factor would be how much you use your native tongue vs. that of your new country. If you spend most of your time living and working in an ethnic enclave dealing mostly with people of your old nationality and speaking that language, then, in my opinion, you're much more likely to speak the new language with an accent.
Yeah. She was throwing stones in a glass house when she teased him about his accent. Arnold's accent is actually quite cool and his confidence in speaking with it is no small part of why he was so popular and successful. Austrian sounds cool.

Ahnuld's ahccent was so thick in his eahrliest films, he had to be dubbed ovah. Seriously, I only watch "Hercules in New York" (from way back in 1969!) to hev a hah-ty laugh (it's a bad film, but a wonderful piece of Ahnuld history). Over the years, his accent improved. It still betrays his Austrian origin, but we can all understand him. After being an action king in the 80s, he switched to comedy in the 90s, and it was good. He got a reputation for playing charmingly goofy characters. Among his best loved films on my list of favorites: "True Lies" (Ahnuld is a secret agent), "Twins" (he stars with Danny DeVito as twins separated at birth), and "Jingle All the Way" (Ahnuld is an overstressed dad trying to find a Christmas present for his kid). As a Batman fan, I'm obligated to dislike 1997's "Batman and Robin," but Ahnuld always makes me smile, even in a bad role.
I am kind of impressed at how the Japanese voice cast for The Simpsons is pretty accurate to the original. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because if it was terrible, then the ad would not be as successful, but I appreciate the attention to detail
Well yeh, the Voice acting industry is an important section of the entertainment industry. Like people can go to specialized schools for this and are not stuck to having to join a theater group.
The thumbnail is a bit off with “Arunoldo”, in Japan he is affectionately called シュワちゃん (shuwa-chan), with shuwa being the first two syllables of his name in katakana.
