Thanks @MrDoekoe 😊
this guy is slowly becoming a top contributor to supra/car content on YT. here for the supra, stayed for the progress
Science, nice. 👌🏼The result is wildly different!
Get an ultrasonic cleaner, I use mine all the time to clean up hardware. Just make sure it's completely full when you use it otherwise you'll ruin it. I usually just fill out with water and put my cleaning solution and hardware in a jar. The vibrations will go through the jar and clean everything.
I'm gonna try that! We have an ultrasonic cleaner on our injector machine.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Nice job. Have delt with Caswell for years and the owner is super helpful.
Thanks man! That’s awesome to hear. What type of plating projects have you worked on?
@@James_Wood_01 - Caswell also have a lot of polishing supplies. I was polishing a F117 propeller blade (5ft) for display
Oh, like off the night hawk!? If so, that is mad!
@@James_Wood_01 - Haha. Shit! Sorry. Nothing that cool. It was a Douglas C117 - like a DC3. Sorry, a couple of bourbons dont help my typing or brain.
Haha, that'll do it!
That is still a really cool piece to have on display. Good conversation starter to.
how is the plating looking under the support wire?
Hey @sebkos, I had problems getting this bit right. Depending on where the wire was placed, I got different results. Straight under the head of the bolt was the best place to put the wire to keep it on the rig, but it yielded the worst result.
Then I tightened the wire further on the next rig and bent the wire down so it wouldn't rest on the underneath face of the bolts head. That was a little better.
I tried on the threads, which left less area uncovered but was more obvious.
Then I tried moving some parts to get better coverage. This was really finicky, but I got some good results.
Overall, most of them came out pretty good and what I was fussing over really wasn't such a big deal.
Good question, thanks for asking 🙂
Is this a reupload or are you already infiltrating my dreams with content about your.... nuts? :P
Hey Golden Sloth, yeah, I had to reupload it.
Haha DeeZ nuts!
I laughed way too loud (at work) when that deez nuts clip came up.
Lol to "(at work)"
@@James_Wood_01 I was multitasking, thanks.
Sounds legit 👌 🤣
That's not how you distill water. It's the same as distilling alcohol but at the higher boiling point of water. To quote wikipedia "Distilled water is water that has been boiled into vapor and condensed back into liquid in a separate container. Impurities in the original water that do not boil below or near the boiling point of water remain in the original container. Thus, distilled water is a type of purified water. "
You're right! I'm glad you mentioned that. I learned something new today, thanks!
came here to say this too
My mistake 🥲
4:28 this is compleetly wrong. yes you can "make" distilled water at home but not like that. The entire point of distilling water is to remove impurities which does not happen just by boiling it. you would need a distillation apparatus to boil the water, capture the vapor, and condense it back to a liquid in order to get the same thing you would buy. That said, tap water would probably work fine for your needs anyway.
sorry, just saw the other comment lol
All good 👍
