I love your fake enthusiasm! I mean, it obviously makes me cringe, but it's also pretty neat to watch your poor decision making in taking the job to act in this heinous propaganda. You know what you've done here, and you know exactly why a lot of us are moving on from you forever.
I just don’t get the amount of hate in the comments, I don’t know if is about Kari or the fact that they’re extraction more oil, this is an amazing piece of engineering, that’s what this is about, if ppl are hurting bcz of the climate change, well good luck trying to save the planet with EVs and Windmills and without the masterminds behind projects like this and the actual oil. About Kari is been years since I don’t watch the Mythbuster and hence her, I enjoyed so much and learned with her, back when tv was cool. Keep up the good job both Kari and Shell. And please consider bringing more episode like this one.
videos like this needs to be broadcast to the general public more aggressively so that everybody really understands the complexity of delivery energy., so that the average Joe can come home, put his feet up and turn on the heating. The uninformed shitting on the oil industry by the masses is frankly stupid.
Kari Byron sold out her principals when she shilled for Shell Oil (or maybe she never was a real environmentalist and it was all an act). In any case, she's an oil industry shill for Shell, and she lost my support the minute she began shilling for Shell Oil. Just search and you'll see all the juicy videos where she does their bidding thinking we old Mythbuster fans wouldn't see through her shilling. She's willing to give up her environmental principals for that sweet oil industry money when a trillion dollar company offers her swaths of money to tell her long standing Mythbusters fanbase to trust a company responsible for helping destroy our environment through political manipulation and heavy-handed propaganda. What a sad ending to her once illustrious career.
My homeland burns because of past decisions which ultimately supported oil and gas. This rig isn't "efficient", it's disgusting and arachaic. Go visit some of the pioneering renewables companies and you'll earn back some of my respect. So disappointed in you Kari.
Yeah, let's celebrate oil and gas rather than transitioning to sustainable energy. Also Kari, extremely dissapointed you've put your face to one of the larest greenhouse gas emmiters in human history.
Stop talking nonsense!!! There are literally millions of oil byproducts, Elon musk the EV maker is also burning tons of fossil fuels for with his rockets and private jet... for you to have internet and other services.
The tires of your EV, the cables and their insulations, even the roads on which they drive are made from oil, the grid and power and charging stations also possible because of oil and ICE. Even windfarms offshore are possible with oil field technology.
Very cool to see and impressive engineering, even if the world says it does not have a long term future. But it is still educational to look at, the same way steam locomotives are interesting. Unless we solve global warming another way and want to get more of the valuable carbon back into the biosphere.
People will hate on O&G companies while typing from their keyboards and getting food and packages delivered to their door, driving to and from suburban centers all instead of seriously considering all that they and their offspring are consuming while providing little benefit to society themselves. The fact is that there is an incredibly massive ecosystem of skilled design engineers, geologists, support staff, and technical labor involved to get that barrel of crude out from the middle of nowhere and into a refined product at the pump just so you can take your gas-guzzling pickup truck to the grocery store. That's not to say that we should consider the possibility of directing all this talent and effort into renewable energy sources, or that these energy companies still profit from ecological damage, but of course complaining on the internet is infinitely easier than picking up some math and engineering skills that can be directed towards designing and improving cleaner alternatives.
It it cool tech, no denying. But it is cool tech that is, by its nature, destructive for everyone in the long term. It's chasing shareholder returns and economic growth today, because the costs will be paid in decades to come. It's like watching a video from the seventies on the chemical engineering of tetra-ethyl lead in gasoline. People may have marvelled at the wonders of chemistry, but even then the likes of Shell were warming up a campaign to discredit and silence sideline scientific research showing the health consequences of lead accumulation.
Just Excellent. Congratulations on this accomplishment. I remember hearing of some of these things during my time with the project. The video really brings things home. I look forward to the other Episodes.
either die a hero, or see yourself become a villian (or get bought by one). RIP Grant, you're the hero in this story.
I'm just waiting for the rest of the angry mob to get here...
🔥🔥🔥
Not angry, but not even surprised they are willing to do whatever for money. It's just pathetic.
I'm more disgusted.
8:04 what's with the Amazon package?
i finally get it, "Shell" stands for "She'll do anything for money"
😂😂😂
Shell: Destroying the planet AND your childhood.
"I'm Kari Byron, and I need some cash flow! Join me in smiling as I walk around Shell's brand new -DeathStar- Vito Platform

I thought this was going to be a vid about her soul.

What is your homeland that burns ?
oh no Kari, why did you do this‽ Shell...? smh.
I'm not even mad Kari, just disappointed.

The phone, or computer, the parts and pieces of your internet router, all made possible due to O&G.

I work in solar panels and still hate this.
Becuase there are few other options but to conform to society.
Thanks for sharing. I love the video 😊
Good video,
I left comment boss don't fire me now.

Love the spotlight on the engineering marvels that go into resource extraction. Thanks for taking the time to do the series, Kari! Cool collaboration.

I am aware of how the vito dimension regulates the uppardack, lowardack, and pathon joints in the Hull fitting.
