Steve, I just want to say thanks for all your reviews because they really helped me find a nice tv within my budget. Settled on the sony x90l and couldnt be happier with it
Great video Steve but I’ve been told by a few different retailers that they won’t even bring in any Samsung TVs under the Q80 series and that that’s where you want to start with Samsung and go up from there. I think me personally wouldn’t buy anything under the Q90 series with Samsung and the X90 series from Sony. Looking forward to seeing what the 2024 models will have for sure.
Thanks for the 55" vs 65" compassion lol. I was actually curious how they would look side by side. Feel comfortable that I opted for the q70c 65" variant now.
Thank you, these comparison videos are really helpful. I knew X90L is generally considered the better TV, but I didn't know the difference is that big.
What is the technology called? The salesman kept reminding me of Samsung upscaling technology but I told him I cannot make a decision till I've seen Sony's answer to it.
Awesome review however, i find Samsung’s HDR Movie mode not to be its best day to day viewing mode on the TV if clarity and brightness are what you’re looking for. I also find that viewing in either intelligent or Dynamic mode give the overall brighter and more crisp picture and brings the tv to life.
@@TechSteve thanks, now if these streaming services could catch up. When it pops it pops but some of the content is unwatchable because of compression, etc. even when I 'dumb' the tv down. 😆
Hi @TechSteve, which 75 inches TV should I buy between Sony X85L and Samsung Q70C. Sony price is AUD 2295 while Samsung I'm getting corporate rebate and is costing me AUD 2000. Do you think Sony X85L is better than Samsung Q70C?
Yea i would pick the Q70C if I was a somewhat serious gamer but not for almost the same price. I would rather pick the QM8 for "serious" gaming. However I'm a casual player with one console thus the X90L is good enough.
Its odd because the two TVs are comparably priced up to 65 inches and then the price difference for the 75 inch variants is quite vast ($300-400 more expensive for the Sony).

As an OLED user for 6 years with my LG B7 using it probably 12 hours a day hooked up to a PC for browsing/UA-cam/Netflix, I'd say go for the X90L if you use it the same way and want it to last more than 6-7 years. If not I would definately go for the S90C. Burn-in control on the S90C seems to have gotten better a lot better and wont be an issue unless you use it like me, or watch ONE channel with logo up all the time.
