It’s early doors, let’s give him time - because we have time. 3 years to next WC, that’s enough space to move in.

@@CalTheKiwi1 I agree to a certain extent. As an Aucklander, I have no doubt in his coaching ability at all. My issue is with his selection policy. He has laid out how he selects which is fine, but then applies it to only some players in the squad. The most glaring ones have to be at captain, at number 8, center, and fullback. Picking a player because you know him is not the way you choose an All Black. We have players in the squad who have not played before selection, are out of form but picked anyway, and after saying the captain will be the best in his position just hasn't worked with Scott Barrett. You do not use the All Black jersey to get back a players fitness and form. That's what Super Rugby and NPC are for. As I said, I never doubted him as a coach, but as a selector he is yet to give me any reason for confidence.

Instant gratification is nobody's friend. Razor is experimenting and has the right to do that. The pundits and fans should rather check their expectations, patience - or lack thereof and negative emotions, and let Razor do what he needs to do. 5 million people yelling at him has zero meaning to him, he knows what he is doing. Get behind him.

If the yardstick is firm, the TJ shouldn’t even be in the team. His job is to provide our team with fast ball, which he consistently stalls on. Ever wonder in the last 5 AB games why our whole team looks less threatening when TJ is on…it’s his utter predictably! DM and everyone outside him are subject to his delayed delivery

How do you build depth replacing a guy who is 30 in April and has played 52 Tests with a guy who is 34 in May and has played 130 Tests?
Especially when neither player is comfortable or at their best in that flyhalf position and never has been?
Depth for what exactly? Surely not the next WC cycle?

Barrett ws a good 10 but that was 7 years ago. He is a good 15, but as you say he's currently 33. Plummer should be the 10. The end of year tour should see Plummer, Perofetta and Cameron going as our 10's. Even drop one of those and take Barrett so you have someone with experience, but certainly 2 of them need to go.

MacDonald is gone and the rest are all yes men. Sometimes players need to be held accountable instead of told what they have done well and given more chances. MacKenzie is an example. What about 6/2. With the versatility in the AB backline, I just don’t get the impact benefit of having a midfielder on the bench. This game which is basically a dead rubber would be the perfect opportunity to see if an extra loosie could make a difference in the last 20. Obv coach razor is right in saying that accuracy and discipline is key. You have to have all your players on the field.
The big test for this group is going to be in November. AB match schedule is brutal. What return would be acceptable for the AB fans? I would think that only dropping one of the following games would be ok? France, England, Ireland.

    Smash England
    Beat Ireland, last minute penalty?

Razor called Richie Mo'unga his Tom Brady and he was right. Mo'unga is a player with the requisite skills to carry out the Robertson game plan.
Let's be honest: DMac is a guy who possesses great physical attributes on attack ie. acceleration and preparedness to take risks, but on game management he is clueless. If anyone doubts my word, I urge you to watch his debut against Italy, where he took bad options time after time against an opponent who put him under minimal pressure. Barrett is not a first-five who can set up a backline or be effective in exiting his own half ( Just like DMac). When he debuted for the AB's, the coaches always used to play Israel Dagg at fullback so they could use his exceptionally long punts to exit their own red zone.
However, Razor is an exceptionally good coach ( put away your anti Crusader biases for a minute) who has the inner resourcefulness and creativity to find solutions.
If the NZRFU had a competent management, they would have selected Razor to coach the AB's five years ago, just like the Aussies did with Brumbies coach, Rod MacQueen in 1997, who then took them to a World Cup victory in 1999. We would have won the cup for sure, but we have a tradition of appointing morons to run our institutions and pay the price for this despite all the talent at our disposal.
Give Razor time and support ( just like Cantabrians did) and you will be rewarded with an All Black team who you actually can have faith in.
