Carolyn is an outrageous talent! I've seen her twice up here in New England on her northern tour visits. I'd trade tickets to every single stadium show on the planet to see her again. She is 100% the real deal!
Great steady hang from the drummer!! From listening to Bukka White and Marcus King back to listen to Carolyn again .. blues beyond great from fantastic ’bluesicians’!! Peet the Swede
First time? Dan Electro's in Houston, 1997, been a big fan ever since. Carolyn is so big in Texas blues. Would love to see her play with Tedeschi-Trucks
As great as Carolyn is, and though their singing styles are similar, Janis' voice was different but just as great. It depends on one's personal preference. I'm sure they would have huge respect for each other.
@@WhisperingWempe Yes. Jeff Beck stamp of approval. Jeff dropped plectrums (as the Brits call picks) sometime in the late 60s early 70s I believe and encouraged others to discard picks too. Carolyn gets ful range of tones and emphasis without 'em too. Great technique that is now second nature.
@@georgestevens1502 fun fact. When Carolyn did the windmill on her mother's Martin, her ma told her: " no more picks for you!" I mean, obviously, the Martin had been scratched to death with that The Who windmilling sh*t I am neither British nor American, so plectrum and pick both work for me;) Also, I used to have this stick-on pick-holder, because my plectrums kept flying in the audience so I lost five to ten plectrums per gig easily lol But now I hardly use 'em. I only have two, actually
@williamwise9360 > WHY! Why hasn’t someone > like Robert Plant been sent > this video!! 1) how do you know somebody hasn’t already sent this to Robert Plant? 2) what do you expect him to do if they did…? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤮
Beautifully done!
Superb!! Blues deeper than into the bones!! Peet the Swede
She's a Texas treasure. Been a fan since her early days.

A class apart
Carolyn is a wonderful musician ❤ with a voice that Janis Joplin would bow to.

Exquisite phrasing, on fretboard and voice. Real treat.
And no guitar pick
Respect

Que grande es esta mujer. Un dueto en estos dias con Janis Jolin es imposible pero seria digno de ver y escuchar.
