Love the review. I bought one of these about 6 months ago and I can tell you that it is the first guitar i pick up in my studio. I own a martin d-28, Taylor 816CE and a couple of hand built guitars by Yairi and Hoffman. This guitar stands up to all of them and actually exceeds with the specs. I mean...adirondack spruce? You don't see that in the $3000 price point. I've recently put on a set of Waverly tuning pegs, upgraded the pins, polished the frets and had a pro set-up. All worth the money. Love this guitar, I truly see it as a lifetime player.
Very good video. I'll sub. I know how hard it is to get new subs at first. Keep up the content. I too have that guitar and still love it. Mines got a couple years in it now and it just keeps getting better each time you play it.
i jusy got one recently very nice guitar.... recording king makes the most affordable solid wood guitars and they are very nice :) just curious how did you lower the action?
First off all ! Thanks for one great review on this guitar. Just ordered one . What strings you recommend for this guitar. You have had it awhile now . any disappointment’s . Maybe I should cancel my order LOL. Again great review and super playing. Thanks ! Jeff Clark from Rockdale Texas
Thanks Jeff! No disappointments at all, still in love with the guitar. I use Elixirs phosphor bronze 012 gauge. Sometimes I also use D'Addario coated ones, those are great as well. I go for the one that's cheaper on the day...😅
Would you say it's a pretty loud guitar? I'm looking for a canon that cuts through in that price range. Other option would be a Blueridge. Have you tried a BR? If so which would be louder? thnx
Hey man! It depends on the point of reference, it is the loudest I've ever owned. I can play in a bluegrass band with no hassle. I tried the Blueridge a long time ago and I remember that the tone is fantastic, but I don't remember how loud it was. With that said, my friend has a Collins that is a punch in the face, that thing is loud! So that's why I mentioned the point of reference. I don't know if it was helpful at all 😂
The best solution ...even better than "the big 3" solution.... The next better purchase is Eastman E20D (1600 euros).... For something real special it's over 5.000...(Boucher, Gallagher, Collings, PrestonThompson)... I hope to have it soon 🙂
Own this guitar and you WILL NOT find more guitar for the money! V-neck took a few days to get used to since I exclusively play Martin's but once I settled in fell in love, especially when I'm wrapping my thumb. Picked it up for 600 w LR Baggs pickup installed, what a steal.
@@CesarBenzoniMy RD-328 showed up last night. I absolutely love that guitar! It sounds awesome! It rings like a bell. And I hit some harmonics messing around and I gotta say that I was super impressed because I can hit a harmonic practically anywhere on the strings. Not sure why. Scale length maybe? I almost don't want to set the action on it. I might lose those sweet harmonics.
I am seeing your video in monochrome. Did you upload it like this? The demo is cool. I have a Recording King tricone resonator and can confirm that they are excellent value for money guitars.
@@paulkline3011 yeah I hear ya... I don't really mind. Maybe you could get something done by a specialist, but then it might not worth the money. They have a new one, a bit more expensive that might have it
@@CesarBenzoniWood doesn't mean necessarily something..If you listen Santa Cruz mahogany dread I doubt that you will care about the genre of the wood..One of the best guitars I ve listened was a - maple - Martin D 42..It was like piano its sound
I played today Yamaha FG3 (same wood and sound as the FG5) Sounded very good but it lacks the low end and mids that come out of a Rosewood guitar. I also played Martin D28 and a Sigma SDR-28 (Martin d28 copy) both Rosewood and i like them more. You can not go wrong with the Yamaha but if you have tried a Martin d28 and like to tone of it then the best option is to buy Recording King RD328 or RD-342. I am going to get the RD-328.

Thanks Joe! Yes, what you get for the price you pay is quite stunning!
Just did my year later review of my RD-328 and I can agree that this is a very good guitar for the money. Nice video...
Great review - especially with the different pick!
Thanks very much!
I believe the RD328 also has scalloped forward bracing which also enhances the sound. Thanks for the review.
It does, yes! Thank you for the reminder!
This guitar is the best value for money ! Woods and the sound are amazing for the price....thank you Cesar for sharing this vidéo! Love it
Thank you, Ugo!
Awesome video, thanks for posting!
Always my pleasure! They are my main working tools
Nicely done. I just bought one and I’m loving it too. Would you be able to share that cool
jazz progression here?
Thanks Craig in Arizona.

Much appreciated! Helped my decision to buy one very positively.
Fantastic, I'm glad!

Hi there! Totally agree. Actually my luthier did it for me...lol
I have the RO 328 and just recently sold my Martin D18. I changed out the plastic bridge pins with ebony pins.
That's nice! How does it work for you now?

You seem to have goten a very good one.. It sounds amazing and very even everywhere on the neck.

Ill put my RD 328 up against a Martin D28 title for title on a blind test, so far its fooled 4 different blind sound test.
Hello again - have you played the 342 as well, and do you think the bass notes might be richer than on the 318 and 328? Thanks!
Hi there! I never got to try any of those, unfortunately. It's hard to find them in stock
Great hot-licks. I especially liked Soldier's Joy. 👍

Hi, I would really like if you could compare this guitar to the RD16-T that you also featured some time ago.
That's great, I'll try to get it done. Thanks for the suggestion

I loved the Soldier's Joy!
Thanks very much!
Was the v shape neck comfortable to play ? Thanks. Rod in London
Hi Rod! To me, very comfortable! I bought a Loar Archtop guitar recently with the same type of V neck. Feels really good for soloing
@@CesarBenzoni thanks Cesar getting closer to macking. A decision on this one, Regard. Rod
Can't wait for mine to show up! Second to none for the price.

Thanks, I think I will too. I am going to play the heck out of it.

Wow sounds like a Martin
Natural gloss means a nitro lacquer finish?
Hi there! I guess it is, but I couldn't find this exact information, sorry about that
Poly finish....Natural means no burst or coloring on the top.

That's weird, looks normal here, even in other computer. But thanks for the feedback though! They are great value indeed!
@@CesarBenzoni Must be a problem my end. Thanks :)
Does it have a finished neck?
Yes, Paul
So it's not a satin neck? That sucks. I can't play finished necks. My hands stick and don't slide easily on a finished neck. Oh well.

Piece sand paper and masturbate the neck until desired level of satin is obtained 👍
