There was a time when I was partial to Donner Meat from the takeaway and my local corner shop sold the Yankee frozen Kebab Meat as well as the Yankee frozen Cheeseburgers so used to also get those now and then. I don't bother with any Kebab/Donner meat or frozen cheeseburgers anymore after watching your reviews and discovering what actually goes into them. Also I no longer have Donner from a takeaway either and if I do have a burger, I get the decent ones from Aldi and always grill them rather than fry them.
i have like these silicon inserts for the air fryer, basically pretty much means you never have to clean it and those just go straight in the washer, highly recommended
Oh dear, strips of wet pirelli tyre with chips and some spicy sauce! Usually, if it comes from Farmfoods (or "Harmfoods") as my wee brother calls it, it's best dodged! Great review, you're a braver guy than me for trying that!👍
A good and honest review. I’ve bought frozen kebab meat before for about £1.70 for a bag and it was much the same. To be honest I would have to be drunk to eat it. You made me laugh when you compared the prices - £2.49 for what you reviewed and £8 for a doner from the kebab shop - don’t bother with this stuff just spend the £8 and treat yourself 😂
Good Morning Gareth, i'd have to do the Dog Treats in the oven in a tray of beef stock. The Air Fryer must dry them out until they a Beef Pringles 😁. Chips look good but too few i'd add some more out of my supply. Maybe put the strips in a wrap or some bread with butter and all the sauce in the fridge.
Kebab meat.......a massive two handed kebab with salad, garlic and chilli sauce...the type that when you take a bite you end up with sauce in your ears. 👍
Hi Gareth, Thanks for the thumbs up. As a kid born in 1965 when I got older, a treat was angel delight. Do you fancy doing a review on that 😉. Even though its not the norm 😮 P and J 👍
I got 2 litre of 'Chefs Larder' sriracha sauce recently from e.bay, nice it was on my pork pie and Cornish pastie. lol! I think that when re-heating the kebab strips, cook them in the base of the fryer and cook 'without' turning, to get that crisp one side, and the otther side moist not over cooked texture, like how you get it carved off the chippy elephant leg. One side chared, one side not = floppy, not stiff as a board.
Hi Gareth, I know I have said this before, but Heron's are have been doing the 2 mains and 2 sides for £5 for a while---a good selection of curries and the sides are Bombay potatoes or pilau rice. I know you have had their chicken bhuna before--and you loved it. Maybe you could get the meal deal and see what a feast you can get for a fiver... and I bet you would not be able to eat their Vindaloo!
I'm not surprised the dog chews taste slimy. The mechanically recovered meat goes through so many processes and is then glued back together with one or several other ingredients. Plus, I always thought a kebab had to be lamb.
I’ve had a nice Meat Feast Pizza on Friday from Timmy’s which is a Takeaway place in Stafford that does nice food and we had it delivered. It has Salami , Spicy Beef and Chicken Tikka Meat on it as well as it was nice also i would definitely recommend you to try it. I think that you can eat in too.
Good review- no faults 💯🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Value and quantity is excellent- quality nope, imagination nope I’m disappointed you didn’t crack out into song showing your sauce from farm foods out the fridge- lol
At least the “kebab meat” wasn’t in a frozen ball like what’s available in “bargain” shops. Needless to say I won’t be bothering with this stuff. Cheers Gaz for warning us 😂 👍🏼🇬🇧🇬🇧
been out for ages here in dundee only 1 pound in farmfoods here pretty good i think /cook yer donna meat in some spicey gravy for 2 minutes in a covered bowl in a microwave it wont dry out then yer chips r worth a pound as i say x canna get a take away fot that money x
Yer looking a bit sheepish, mate! 😄 Dog chews indeed. It's the dreaded mechanically separated chicken! Problem is, there's no pita or veg or garlic sauce. Just eat the chips and make the dog happy. Face it, you need a dog.
choked on me cuppa as you showed the kebab meat as I was wondering wtf is that? and then you said dog chews! 😆nice one Gary, you are a braver man than most of us taking a hit for the team with every vid! 👍👍👍👍👍
Heron do a GOOD Doner kebab meat... It's in a brown packet (*I think?). They also do THOSE strip types... The Heron ones are different shapes and sizes, not 'uniformed'.. rubber, slimy style... Try them!! £2.50 I think it was last time I had them... Those 'stick' style meat-ish things I don't like, but the other ones, I absolutely LOVE!! Get yourself to Heron to be 'Spot On'!! 👍
with any of this doner supermarket meat i find the best way to make them is to boil them for a few minutes then lightly fry them for just a couple of minutes.. they come out great
Great review Gareth. That looks terrible but could be ok for a quick snack after a few beers or n your case cups of tea but they could do with a lots more chips
I buy kebab meat from takeaway- Morrisons pitta breads and small pots of Jeff the chef garlic mayo and Jeff the chef chilly sauce I freeze the kebab meat in portions and when I feel like a kebab it does not take long to defrost, and add lettuce red cabbage and onion if you want to. Delicious.
It would be interesting if you could get a donor kebab meat separate and freeze it. And try again to compare. I'm assuming here that it would be okay to do that if it was frozen as soon as its chilled.
Hello Gareth have you ever had a kebab from a 'German Donner' store, it's an experience they make their flatbreads in house an the way their pit together it's a little like eating a pie, very tasty mind
Hello, These are some easy to cook foods, but they are frozen and they do lose some flavor... They are good in a pinch... The curries are better option than frozen meats... Have you tried Papa Johns new Tandoori Spice Pizza... Try them its good... Cheers...
Yummy "Mechanically separated meat" its what left after you take every saleable part of animal away leaving what's stuck to the bones, arse & head. Blast that at high pressure off the bones (they go to make stock) leaving a pink paste that they dye & squirt out of tubes like toothpaste into various forms. In the case of this meal, you could have spiced up a flip flop & got a more rewarding meal but its cheap. As for Crucials hot stuff its a late night kebab shop staple along with their garlic sauce.
Yeah best of luck Gaz honestly especially” kebab kits that you can stick in an air fryer”are as bad as they look the doner which’s meant to be the star of the show is just nasty I hope the next review would help you forget this horrid thing Thanks for the review Cheers Gaz 🎉🎉
I made the mistake of buying a 2LB bag of just the kebab meat from this brand recently for £2.99. Had a few drinks, microwaved some, threw it in a pitta with hot sauce and it vaguely tasted like a kebab. Next morning when it dribbled out of me in a pool of its own oils and hot sauce, It really smelled like kebab 😂 4/10 will have to try again to see if guts have built tolerance.
I said before in one of your doner meat reviews, I wish a supermarket would do very good quality doner kebab meat. I don't expect it to be cheap, I'll pay for it, but just wish it was available.
Do love a kebab, and I'm sure you will love these what i came across on Friday in a little corner shop, the Shahi kitchen, Curries from a company called direct food solutions based in the Midlands, and i brought 3 a chicken Madras a Balti and a chicken Tikka masala, and all are really tasty and about six or seven pieces of chicken in each and they only cost, ready for it just £1:59 each total bargain,so you will have to give them ago 😊👍
We got there frozen kebab meat for home bargains or and cook it in the microwave you have to put it on for just the writing time to get it to test OK or it turns out like beef jerky
Put the kebab meat in the microwave for a few minutes, it’s loads better, it’s already cooked it doesn’t need roasting. Try Iceland food warehouse kebab meat, it’s just the same as the kebab shop…. Microwave it
That looked Rank! wouldn't feed it to my cat but wouldn't matter he wouldn't eat it, there is better frozen meat out there as you said though. pay £8 at a good chippy and get a large mixed kabab
It still looked like doggy chews even after you cooked it. And as for a donner kebab I get a large one with salad and sweet chilli sauce from our chippy just round the corner from our house. They do a great job on them and only charge £5-00.
Hi Darren. I love your reviews mate. Have you tried Icelands Butter chicken yet ? It’s incredibly tasty. Also get yourself a pack of Tilda microwaveable rice. I’m sure you’ll love it.
dog chews about nailed it
Nice one Gaz... I'll say it again.. 'food fit for a Prince.... here Prince'🐕 😂🏴👍
Ruff 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Animal cruelty that mate 😂
Prince would probably turn his nose up at that.
🤣🤣🤣
To my mind, "Mechanically seperated meat" means meat they have scraped off the cogs, machinery and whizzing knives in the meat factory ! PMSL !
dont forget whats on the floor
The truth is worse than that
Taking one for the team again 😂
Just shows how much we have strayed from real food
Yeah definitely look like Schmackos 😂 ….great review as always Gaz 💕
Yes not good lol
haha so true
😂😂😂 that's those dog treats 😂😂😂
Good luck mate lol, hope you’ve plenty of toilet roll in. There’s more chemicals in that than a kids chemistry set 😂
Chemicals aren't bad. Water is made of chemicals. So is an apple. So is everything on earth.
@@MrGreenYeti they aren’t all healthy chemicals 😂 best of luck on your chemical journey 🤞☠️😂
@@BuffaloSoldier-e6v Have fun being scared of words like dihydrogen monoxide 😎
I've not watched the video yet, but it surely can't be as bad as that muck Rate My Takeaway had the other day. 🤢
I agree I purchased a frozen kebab meat meal from a store it was horrible
There was a time when I was partial to Donner Meat from the takeaway and my local corner shop sold the Yankee frozen Kebab Meat as well as the Yankee frozen Cheeseburgers so used to also get those now and then.

Braver man then me, I wouldn't eat that 😂
Meat looks like bloody cardboard! Me kids love the stuff , every Saturday we have the stuff!
That elephants leg was still moving in the Air Fryer,It must of had Cramp LOL🐘🐘🐘
Oooh no, that kebab meat look like my dogs treats 😂 brave man Gareth
Schmackos probably have more nutrition :D
@@wonkybear4400
😂😂😂 yeah they look like schmackos, exactly what I was meaning lol
THAT is true!!!!
BUT the dog's treats will obviously have more nutritional value and a better flavour!
Talk about taking one for the team! Jeez! BTW Gareth - looking good mate.
The slimey texture will be the glue stuff that binds the meats together
"Me dog chews"! Man, my baldy, you are a star!
Says on the packaging Not for EU that's because nobody else will eat it in the rest of Europe😅. Cheers Gareth 👍
i have like these silicon inserts for the air fryer, basically pretty much means you never have to clean it and those just go straight in the washer, highly recommended
You can also eat the cardboard box , just use some chilli sauce
Oh dear, strips of wet pirelli tyre with chips and some spicy sauce! Usually, if it comes from Farmfoods (or "Harmfoods") as my wee brother calls it, it's best dodged! Great review, you're a braver guy than me for trying that!👍

Go to kebab shop and buy a portion of kebab meat. You get loads from the kebab shop round where I live and just throw a few chips in the air fryer
Thanks Gaz.. will save me a trip to Timpson if I ever get a hole in my shoe:)
One of the best of the shelf sauces you can get Gaz is Encona !....lovely stuff !

Wow Gaz, I see they went to town with the top quality 80% of 33% of meat. Almost absolves the mega amount of chemicals eh. Schmakos taste better😀

Hi Gareth, I tried a kebab like this a while ago and it had so much spice flavour but no meat texture.
Thanks gaz
No worries

There used to be a chippy next to my school he would keep kebab meat for days it looked just like that .. yum 😂
Need a barm cake, to shove it all onto lol 😂
