QUICK UPDATE: -Apologies for any misgendering. I do not follow the Tekken story closely and I thought it had been established that the correct pronoun was "she." That being said, it seems that Leo's gender is ambiguous by design, so I will simply avoid using he/she in the future (or I will simply use "they") to avoid any kind of confusion. Although I'm sure it's an interesting topic of conversation, this video and channel are not here to discuss Leo's gender. -CORRECTION on ch 4: You can get a full juggle by immediately using df3; however, just like the mini-combo, it is incredibly inconsistent at long-ranges and will not work on small bodies.

Bro I remember being you so hard😂😂 I was like wtf is a df2, what is a hellsweep and crouch dash 😭 I just gotta say tho, stick with it. It will come with time, and continue watching UA-cam because it really is the way to speed up your process of understanding the game. Don’t take too much advice from pros tho, because they don’t understand the level of play we are at, they think everyone is at high level bc that’s all they see/play with. Specifically watch people who address what MOST people who play Tekken deal with, like TMM, That Blasted Salami, and this guy even if you don’t understand all the lingo yet. I’d also strongly recommend Massive Zug, who has some of THE BEST actual beginner guides. He breaks it down in a way anyone can understand.
Also Tekken is the most rewarding and enjoyable fighting game I’ve ever played. I came from Smash and had virtually no real FG experience so I started from scratch, and getting decent has been so fun. I gave up lots of times along the way, but trust me when I say it’s worth it to see yourself grow
Some extra info: d1 can be canceled into crouch, magic 4 can give a full combo if you dash jab first, and ch f3 is a fairly easy launcher if you don’t bok cancel and pick up with while rising 3
Just a few things sorry if they were already mentioned. Df2+3 is a counter hit launcher when you use ws3 after but only at certain ranges. The second hit of df1,2 if on counter hit gives you a free f1+2. B2,1 can be hit confirmed. And f3 is a counter hit is a launcher if you dont go into bok and do a quick crouch dash 3.
hey a quick correction, vs every character except Kuni and Leo themself, their magic 4 gives a full combo using immediate df3 to screw, not just the mini combo
Ty for the info; I didn't realize that. Although, after labbing that, it seems like it's just as inconsistent. Only f2 always hits, beyond that it's a coinflip. Idk why b14 can't just be the normal followup. There's no reason that should whiff.
Do any other beginners find these guides to be a bit too much of a firehose of information? I appreciate the detail on these characters and the work that goes into them, but I find it hard to absorb or remember useful information from these.
I appreciate the sentiment, but I think you're looking for something that isn't there and isn't supposed to be. Remember that part 1 is simply a list. The "firehose of information" is merely me giving you the key features of the move so that you can skip the labwork. If it's too much to remember (which is fine), ignore those details and make note of the moves and just... start using them. I try when I can to show examples of basic setups, but if you're still learning the game, then that means you're still learning fundamentals, which means there's no way to really spell out how to use each move. That requires a better understanding of the game itself, which you'll get just by playing. Eventually, you'll learn enough that all those extra details will make sense. So as a beginner, the goal here isn't to memorize everything, it's to simply use this as a reference/starting point. Every player will have different moves they like to use, and only with play time will you figure out what gets you the most value. Hopefully that makes sense. Good luck!
I don't want to be a jerk, tekken specifically, and fighting games in particular, can be a lot of information at once. Long legacy movelists don't help, and these guides aren't the full breadth of what a character can and can't do either. They're great introductory resources, and top level players will demonstrate even more than what's shown. If it seems like too much info, think about it the same way you'd learn anything, in small steps. Instead of trying to memorize every punisher, move, and move property or combo, try learning just a few each day, and coming back and reviewing what you did learn. Improvement is meant to be gradual.
I’m a bit shocked that I haven’t played Leo at all in T7 . . . I got to Mighty Ruler w/ Anna yesterday and am looking for other people to pick back up 😅

It's been revealed to be a girl in the movie and Tekken 6. Full name being Eleonore Kliesen, has always been tomboyish on her depiction, but Tekken 7 went so far on this as to pick a male voice actor and limit the customization options. Read her lore in the wiki if you wanna know more about possible explanations on why she chooses to dress the way she does, and remember pronouns are different in every language and direct translations are impossible in some cases. Gender neutral, singular being something English lacks may be a reason why you see subtitles in game referring to Leo as a he/she or him/her.
@@Tulkeleth It is *because* I played tekken 7 and read the wiki page I am saying this. Harada took back the confirmation you were talking about and said that "Eleonore" was the original concept of the character, not the one they ended up doing. So "unconfirmed" is the farthest you can say, but the game does more often than not refer to Leo as a guy (even Leo does this himself/herself in Tekken 6, in German).
Probably should have stuck with the singular they/them to avoid discourse about Leo's gender identity. But glad he's getting attention, love your guides.
I think you're right. Gonna be honest that I thought it had been established it was "she," but I definitely do not follow the lore and was wrong on that one.
Leo had female costumes in tt2. Harada also once said that Leo is a girl but then kinda backtracked saying 'Leo is Leo.' She's androgynous in Tekken 7. Who cares about the gender of the character anyway. If you want her to be a guy, call her him. Leo can be whatever you want her to be.
