When I first started reading and realized I was reading the thoughts of an octopus I wasn’t a big fan. I’m glad I stuck with it though because i really enjoyed seeing the development of each character. I do agree that Cameron’s character could have used some help.
I didn't think of this book as a mystery at all! And I found the first half to drag the most, but really enjoyed the 2nd half. Cameron and his side of the story were only so-so for me, but I really loved Tova, Macellus, and the Scottish guy (can't remember his name). It was those characters that made me love the book! Did you listen to the audiobook?
I did listen to the audiobook, and I actually did not think it was the best narrator. I agree that the Tova and Ethan parts were the best. I thought the idea of Cameron was interesting, but I think he was the poorest written part of the book, and it was hard to like him. At no point did you think of it as a mystery? I guess as soon as they mentioned Tova's missing son it seemed like a mystery to me.
Sounds cute. I’ll put it on my reading list.
I like experimental works.
I hope to see more from this author.
What do you think of this approach to solving a mystery?

I think his dialogue was the weakest. I really appreciated the others though.
