Great video and really interesting overview. Wasn't sure about this book before but the French, Canadian and ANZAC forces sound really appealing, esp after watching the game with Sean's French, I just need to get my desert scheme Soviets and US painted first! Great to see the expansion of cross force use of certain kit too, while the camo schemes won't always be right, it does allow you to be build a fairly good variety of forces from a pool of kit. The Milan 2 AT 24 I think will start to push for the release of even more advanced tanks with even better armour, otherwise there's a danger that Milan 2 makes the top tier tanks mid-tier at premium prices, as Mark said. Interesting times. I'm looking forward to next year and the release of the new plastic Soviet and US infantry and a starter based round them that was alluded to in the BF interview, the only reason I'm holding off trying to chase any down!
Grizzlies had the .50 and .30 cal and the Cougar has the same chassis with the Scorpion turret and the Mowags did predate the LAV. The Grizzlies and Cougars can always be used with the CAST contingent that was to reinforce Norway as part of 5CMBG
I kinda feel like the game needs a early and late era to keep things more balanced. Its no fun taking a high end army knowing that it has little to no chance at dealing with hordes of out of date tanks or to many to handle IFVs that run around you. Splitting the game like that of course has its own problems, like needing to maybe have to collect both Eras but there has to be someway to do it.
I mean that is normal in the wargame industry and they could punsish people taking a mid army into a late game by giving the newer unit X2 damage to the older unit and half incoming damage to simulate newer armor and systems being better... Also they could have night games where newer units have their normal range and older have holved ranges.
You can argue about the looks of the Dutch YPR765. I like them, but that's a mather of taste. They were still in stock on large numbers and are sent to Ukraine. I don't think they complaint about the looks of these vehicles ;-).
I'm hyped to have dragon 2s for my bradley mech infantry. AT 18 was just not enough for anti tank work, but with 21 they will perfectly overpen t-55s so they are far more effective without any AT being "wasted".
Why are you using dragons for mainline AT work anyways? They're to clear out light armor like BMP/BTR at range. You have much better options for clearing medium armor.
I was upset when they didn’t have the Blackhawk because it’s first flight was in 1974 and it was implemented in the 1979 so it would have been around a lot in 1985.
I don't like the hordes either. The most tanks I've run is 18 Canadian Leopard 1's. I think it's better to avoid competitive games and play more fun lists in general. I'm looking forward to getting the book and seeing what I can do with my French and Canadians. Those missile upgrades are interesting. I usually like taking Swingfires with my Chieftains but now I might try the Warrior Milans. As for things for the future, I'd love to see a new Oil Wars book with a Merkava 3 for the Israelis

That and it would just generally be more thematic which I'd like.

Hopefully, they're saving them for an updated US book. Along with ERA for M60 Pattons.
