5:37 This is when it's confirmed that it's not a coincidence that Gems of the same type, such as Pearls, share the same voice actor! Crystal Gem Pearl and Yellow Pearl are both voiced by Dee Dee Magno-Hall. In "The Answer," we saw that all the Rubies were voiced by Charlene Yi, including Crystal Gem Ruby who forms half of Garnet. (Edit: There is one exception to this, but revealing which Gem type doesn't fit the VA standard would spoil a few major things, so you're gonna have to wait and see 😉)
Important fact: Yellow Diamond is played by legendary Tony-winner Patti Lupone! Best known for originating the role of Eva Peron in Evita on Broadway, she's kind of perfect for this role, haha
Amethyst transforming into a thomas the tankengine style helicopter still cracks me up no matter how many times i rewatch it! Its literally the most usefull form she takes (and also perhaps deadliest if she ever used her chopper blades like indiana jones does on nazis)
My favorite little detail of this episode is that "periphrasing" is an actual word; it's the opposite of paraphrasing, or using more words than is necessary. Which is what they were doing! A+ pun. There was also a very mean fake-leak which came out around the time of this episode. It was a screenshot of credits from an episode, and it listed a character named "Jade" who had both Garnet and Perdiot's voice actors, implying that though they don't fuse in this episode, they were gonna in an upcoming one. BUT NOPE! >:/
Episodes like this really made me fall in love with Peridot. And I love the casual future vision that Garnet does here, telling steven on the tape while recording alongside Peridot. The log date episode in particular is a favorite of mine. I love Garnet's explanation of "I'm both Percy AND Pierre"!
One of my very favorite things Peridot does is consistently saying "Wow Thanks" every time she gets something nice because Steven told her that's what you say when you get a gift.
Does this mean that Garnett knew Peridot was going to join the Crystal Gems and have a mental breakdown, without knowing that she would insult Yellow Dimond?
Clod has two meanings one of them means a lump of dirt or clay and the other one is a stupid person so peridot called yellow diamond a stupid person but also a lump of clay or dirt which I would guess is an insult in the gem society
@@aliyahpulido953 no peridot was already using that phrase even before that episode she called the crystal gems that multiple times on earth when they were trying to capture her after the ship got destroyed
@@kclovelypinky8561 I know, hehe! I just meant that Peridot thinks so literally that she most likely calls people "clods" if she considers them inferior to her/dumber than her. Later on, it becomes more of an affectionate name, like jokingly calling your best friend "stupid."
@@aliyahpulido953 oh lol I see thank u for explaining more I sometimes don't fully get things right away with out more details I confused it for the thing I said.
@@aliyahpulido953 yeah that makes total sense I call my grandparents silly nicknames too so I see lol that is why I love peridot she is one of my favorite characters
Calling Yellow Diamond a clod is what officially made Peridot my favorite character, even over Garnet who is still a very close second.
I love peridot too she is so hilarious also love that peridot got redemption arc such a good way of bring a fun character in who does deserve it.

"I'm stargazing."
"You can do that alone!"
"Don't want to."
WHO GAVE GARNET PERMISSION TO INVENT ROMANCE
She did not have permission - she invented romance so hard she became an enemy of the state
@@iesika7387 You know what? That's not only fair, it adds to the metaphor.
Lol

Peridot called Yellow Diamond a clod and her angry face meme really cracked me up
😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣
I can’t wait for certain episodes in season 3. Balling my eyes out is all I can say
What breakfast food are you?
“WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH IT!?”
Yaay, that "short" was the trailer for the second season that I wanted you to watch, it's so beautiful
Peridot really had us in the first half, not gonna lie! XD
8:51: more proof that Peridot is literally a cat.
Peridot calling Yellow Diamond a clod is just *chefs kiss*
Oh and the short made me cry and smile and goosebumps and just happy. Just brilliant.
❤ love taking this ride with you.
Log Date is one of my favorite episodes, and I don't have the energy to explain why. It's just good, you know?
Does this mean that Garnett knew Peridot was going to join the Crystal Gems and have a mental breakdown, without knowing that she would insult Yellow Dimond?
i need more steven reactions now!!!! it keeps getting better!
10:06 Peridot was me when I got hooked on SU and fell in love with the show for the rest of my life.
I miss my cat now 16:16
1:50 hehe Peri pops up to correct you

The lump of dirt one may be more likely, given that she also called Steven a pebble in a previous episode, "Catch and Release."
