Good job my man. I was going to do this for my Civic but I got new tires and a spare wheel off craigslist for $20. Took the best old tire and put it on the wheel. Slapped it in the trunk and put the old cardboard back. The full size spare fills up the well so much that there is no longer any sag. Best of both worlds-no sag and no wimpy doughnut that only "lasts" 50 miles.
Thank you! It was a learning experience but successful on the first try. Getting the standard 4x8 from Home Depot pre-cut gave me an extra board just in case. Luckily the foam pieces from the previous piece were salvageable. Keep up the good work and thanks for the links, some helpful stuff there.
Angel, No transfer of the glued on foam pieces to prevent rattles? I would use some dental floss to remove them and silicone to bond back on. But, no rattles no problem, the factory had them there for a reason.
That looks like my car w/o the hybrid part. I liked how you compared the prices online. You are so neat and organized. Aww, was that a kiss with your wife. That will get you higher brownie points everywhere. Where can I find the cheapest jigsaw?
Nice job! It baffles me too how much they charge for a glorified piece of carboard, I had the same prbolem and came with the same solution as you for both my cars, only difference was the material, i used hardened cardboard. Also you should (if you hadn't already) put the black pieces of foam to the new trunk board as well. At bumbs on low speed the board will absord the vibration and rattle.
Angel, for the 2004 Camry, the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter are attached. Should the studs and bolts that hold these against the engine and against the rest of the exhaust pipe be changed when installing a new manifold catalytic converter or is not necessary
Great job! Do you hate doing wood work like that, as compared to actually spinning a wrench? I find I much prefer working on cars to woodwork, or home improvements.
Do you work on cars here in Vegas ?? I need a new front main seal on a 2005 corolla pretty simple but I have a torn meniscus in my knee so I need to hire this job done THANKS ! I live Sahara and Rainbow area .
If you wanted to go the extra mile, get some little rubber "nipples and go all along the under side and place them in spots that may rattle. Then on top coat it with a sheet of butyl rubber sound insulation and put the carpet back on top. Not only do you get the support, but you will notice less road noise coming from the back.
As everyone is saying, "Better than the original!'. *** full stop *** And I am puzzled as to why you didn't put some tough finish, like spar varnish on both faces of the board and the edges. Trust me; one spill or trunk gasket leak, and you'll be glad you did!
Stronger then the original one at a fraction of the cost. Well done Angel.
I know I am pretty off topic but does anybody know a good place to watch new movies online?

Did the very same instead I used particle board and made it foldable as well. Nice solid piece is almost 4-5 years now still holding strong.
You are a real mechanic, you are so creative. I like your video. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job! Get a little spray adhesive for that label!
Luv ur work man 👊👊👊
Thats what I did when I had my 97 camry!😁
I’ve used Masonite (“hardwood”) boards in the past with great success. Lighter, cheaper, and easier to work with than plywood.
Well done, great job
Thank you for watching

Fantastic Angel! I wish I lived near you so you could make one for me.
That looks like my car w/o the hybrid part. I liked how you compared the prices online. You are so neat and organized. Aww, was that a kiss with your wife. That will get you higher brownie points everywhere. Where can I find the cheapest jigsaw?

I need to make one for my car too, a had a cooler in my trunk that spilled water & messed up the old one
I’m impressed you’re using a drill master of all things. Haha. Not tryna be a snob I’m just stoked you get good use out of Hf’s ‘economy’ brand.
Smoothing the edges, I was waiting for that, because if you got wood splinters in ur finger that's really enoying. Greetz
" Not perfect but that's ok", yes so true, it's about the results.
Nice job man
That was a great idea idol. Thanks for sharing
Wanted to do same thing for my 96 Camry mine crumbled due to getting overly saturated.
Carpenter mechanic this guy do anything he is so good God bless you.
Solid, brotha! 👌🏻🍒
The best....god bless you
If you dont want the edges to chip like that you should use blue painters tape when cutting with the jig saw

Do you work on cars here in Vegas ?? I need a new front main seal on a 2005 corolla pretty simple but I have a torn meniscus in my knee so I need to hire this job done THANKS ! I live Sahara and Rainbow area .
