Hello good man, good to hear from you. Yup...I was always concerned when I first saw it but there were too many good reports about it to ignore it any longer. Hope you are keeping well. Cheers, Martin.
Amazon...it's the Atdec VF-AT-NP Focus Notebook - Pole. I have a section on my Amazon store called "New USA Lab kit!"....and it's in there.
Oh my goodness...you are correct! The meter pictured on the packaging that I looked at after shooting the video is different...
Thanks...I'll highlight that and annotate.
thumbs up for very nice point on analog pot adjustment vs digital buttons (or even encoders). They don't try to make digital any easier ...
Hello Enrico, thanks for the post. The give aways I will announce in a T4D and then post a link on how to enter. I hope to announce one in the couple of weeks.
In terms of support...you can use my link to my Amazon store..and make any purchases there...and that certainly helps.
Cheers, Martin.
That ISO-TECH looks dimension for dimension and decal for decal like a GW Instek. Likely the exact same on the inside as well, just rebranded as someone else mentioned. I bought a GW Instek for my dad a couple years ago because he wanted to learn circuit basics. In terms of performance and features the casual hobbyist would probably do better with one of the Rigol scopes. That said, the Instek aren't bad entry level scopes. Very compact and rock-solid construction.
It also looks a lot like the Rigol entry level one if I can remember it correctly. I believe the model is shared by several manu's, Dave has mentioned it in one of his older videos
I noticed that the new clamp meter you took out of the box had the addition of capacitance on it. Your original did not.
Thanks! ;-)
Those cutters look identical to the CHP/Hakko cutters, so they're probably a rebrand by RS. Who knows who makes them, but I recommend them. Inexpensive, high quality and they work well.
At least the basic side cutter is available at DigiKey as STUSA170 branded Swanstrom. Just a few bucks.
6:46/47 Grrrrrr, ah . . . . . if you have an itch you just have to scratch it some time.
The intensity seems to suggest that it had been building up but you never let it show until you finally cracked! I bet you felt a lot better for that. Keep up the good work.
You should get a JBC soldering iron.
Contact them on the JBC website.
They will send to almost anyone a demo unit without a problem.
For soldering tin you should use the Multicore® solder , also the best i have ever used.
Best soldering iron i ever used.
The scope looks like a re-branded GWInstek GDS-1072A-U.
Mjlorton you rock! I love the content in your vids, you respond fast in comments. How can I help? Buy my stuff from your store correct?
Nah...the ISO-TECH is AC only on current...AC and DC on voltage.
Thanks for the video! Looking forward to the next giveaway! :-)
Most of the RS stuff is Instek or TENMA gear
Thanks Martin... T4D? Sorry for my ignorance... You ever come to Canada? Can you see if I purchase stuff off your amazon store? Thanks and btw I LOVE the idea for putting my laptop and my bench keyboard on the stand to free up valuable bench space thanks VERY much for the idea ;)
But they both have the ac and digital symbols on the amps setting.
It's not a Hakko review man, calm down, he's just talking about it because some people asked in previous video comments. He bought it from US, not from RS.
The scope actually looks OK response wise, but it does seem like oriented towards the value segment (low resolution on lcd, no aliasing etc, no push buttons etc)... I'm curious who the OEM for it is, I can't identify it.
Where can I buy that mount for the laptop and keyboard?
Also I am building my lab and could use any lab equipment how do I apply for give always? I need meters bad!!!
You would think with the price and quality of LCD's nowadays, oscilloscopes would have bigger displays. Maybe even a touch screen. Then again I know nothing about oscilloscopes.
Is it my eyes or do both dmm's do ac and dc current?
Tenma is Farnell's house brand, so I doubt that.
Your rant (which I couldn't agree with more) between 16:50 and 17:30 should be cut into a separate video of its own; then any designer who ever chooses a button over analogue control should be forced to watch it, over and over again - clockwork orange style.
Until they get that ergonomics thing...
Feedback on our feedback? If we then give feedback, is that a feedback loop?
nice video by the way.
thumbs up from me.
So can this be dangerous ?
