Those mountains are so beautiful, that pack looks like it fits you well, seems like it will be durable and comfortable,I hope it last you thru many of your adventures, keep the awsome informative videos coming, you always cover great topics and give alot of valuable information.
Liked and subscribed. Best post trail vid yet! Kept the good time feeling of your vlogs and had great info and high-quality scenes of the pack. Definitely catching the next one 👍
Thanks Stella for another great video. That's a beautiful area with amazing views. Thanks for sharing. Just curious, does the back packs come in any bright and pretty colors? 😅 Happy hiking to you! 😉 🙏 Hope to see you soon
Stella was so pleased to see you posting a video and the altar light back pack review educational. Question on selecting a thru hiker BP aside from the main compartment 40 liter how important or useful is the the size on the hip belt side compartments? A 22 liter day pack I recently purchased I am disappointed in that I cell phone will not fit… OK for snacks small dispenser of bug spray but that is about it. Plus I’m new go hiking & working to do Thru hikes all do to your AT flogs & a few others. Im 71 & hiking is the best exercise for me & I find such great peace in the woods on a ridge line or at an overlook of the valley & surrounding mountains. Don’t know know if hiking all the AT is possible but for sure parts of it. I live MD am focusing on the MD & Va AT as a good thru hike starter. Your thoughts & sorry I’m so wordy. I value your thoughts & opinions. 😊
Hi there! I usually don’t use the hip belts much but if you otherwise like the pack you can put a phone holder on the shoulder strap or try a fanny pack like I use for my phone and snacks! :) hope that helps!
@@StellaHikes Fanny pack… I like that approach… thank you. Praying you get offered the hosting job on the Hiking Program. The camera liked you & you have the right personality and you have the experience.
It's interesting that that Hyper Light pack kept the rain out for half the A.T. I think I'd want a different color but I bet the black wouldn't show dirt as much. I like the cinchable pockets. Also, your yellow Patagonia hat still looks great! 🚶🏽♀️👍🏻🙂
I have trouble switching packs. I get used to one, and how it packs, and how it feels, and don't want to give it up. It's like needing to move out of your childhood home, even though it is collapsing and the roof is leaking, but you don't want to do it, anyway.
Thank you for taking me on the trail with you again 🥰 I am always excited to see new posts from you! That area is so beautiful! Love that epic view you showed us!!! As ALWAYS, you are in my prayers 🥰🙏 HUGS💗💗
your videos are always so inspiring, personal, informative and fun to watch! you would be the perfect Epic Trails host!!!!!! you are a unique person with a fabulous personality, and I keep coming back to watch your videos due to your charisma and kindness. !!!
Great hike and a very thorough pack review. I really like the idea of the shock cords on the sides. Wow, views for days up there! Seems like your breathing is better acclimated than the last hike you shared with us. 💪 Your Snickers comparison was funny. 😂 But it's true, your pack is worth more than a Snickers a day. Good incorporation of music in the edit Stella. 👌 Take care ✌️
the rolltop buckle is not a one off thing: it's on all Unbound 40 packs. The rolltop buckles are attached to a web loop with slack so it slides around, because HM did not to sew down to prevent the buckle from doing precisely what you described. Another con is that it has no back breathability or venting. Zpacks is able to integrate trampoline style back venting and be lighter. Quality control has gone down hill. Mine didn't come with side bungees, buckles were routed incorrectly, pocket bungee was incorrectly assembled, and errant crappy sewing. The single stay is a mix bag. Some of the webbing straps aren't back folded tack sewn so they slip easily through a buckle then you lose a buckle, which happened to me even back fed. I like the pack, but there are lots of nits to hate about the pack, especially compared to other packs out there.
Do you know Jim Davidson? He is a hiker in Colorado and put a book out of Mount Everest .. his experience, he is my husband's cousin ..anyways I'm so glad to see you back.. I am approaching th AT in 2024.. I would like to learn how to u tube before I start..not sure if anyone has done a video on how.. I watch tailor also.. you girls really are such an inspiration ..good luck on your offer you really are the perfect choice for that job! I was so impressed the shots you got on Summitt during that wind and rain.. was worried ..so glad Laffy and you were safe..looking forward to more future videos ❤
Great re(views) Ha! Reminds me a bit of here in Scotland (when sunny). Just finished the Great Glen Way today (actually sunny and warm this week). I like how the pack sits. One issue I have is access to water and even hip pouches. I use an Osprey and I can't reach the pouches when the pack is on my back. Which, of course, means taking it off and dealing with the cold uncomfortable, you know. So could be an option!
Keep up the great work, and hiking. On the subject of packs. I like the hiper light but that material will wear out. What warranty is with it. I have used may of pack of the years . I hooked on Osprey. I just purchased my 3 rd one , not because it wore out but it’s small . I’m down to a 65l. Osprey has a life time warranty. Can’t bet that . Good luck again Stella
Hi Stella! Remember your pre AT gear video? I was really hopeful that you could fit everything in your Sub-Nero. I have this same pack and was trying to figure out how to pack more food, lol. Well, I finally done it. I folded my tent (altaplex) instead of rolling it up and like magic, I now have room for a 5 day food bag. If you could fit more food in your Sub Nero, would you prefer it over the Hyperlight? I'm just trying to get my kit together, and as light as possible. I'm a little old lady and 20 lbs is my limit.😂
Folding the tent is a great idea! And I would only go hipbelt-less if my heaviest weight with full food and water was 20lbs and most of the time it was closer to 15lbs. I had some problems with my knees on the AT and I think part of it was not buckling my hip belt when my pack was closer to 25lbs. But going ultralight is so fun and worth trying to figure it out! Hope that helps and have fun out there!
HI Stella! I love your video and I see all of them. But as i will start a tru-hike next year (March 12), I would really like to see your workflow for video editing. When you do it (on zero or each night?), for how long each day, how you manage recorded video (deleted after editing or send on SD/cloud?), how do you upload (only on wifi or each night). You see, i'm really interested in the backstage story of a vloggger life!
Hi Stella 👋 Great vid as always, just finished my first ever thru hike on the West Highland Way in Scotland, loved it!😃 Good luck with the Epic Trails application🤞🇬🇧💙
Hi Stella! Great review of the HMG Unbound40! I ordered one to satisfy my curiosity and what I didn’t like about it was the arched stay. It took up so much room inside AND it made the pack uncomfortable on my very short torso. Wanted to love it. Sent it back. I guess I’ll stick with my Durston Kakwa40 for my ‘24 AT thru. Good seeing you on trail again!! 🙌🏻❤️

Stella, are you still vloging? Did hear back about the outdoor adventure host position yet? 😊
Hi, Stella! So happy to see you back on the trail. We've missed you.
Hi Stella, what a really nice hike! Great views! It was nice to see you in a new video! 😀

Great review! Examine the features, benchmark against other products, reach conclusions. I use my Windrider 40 for hiking… and mountain biking😃
I absolutely am in love with Summit county . Home away from home :) can’t wait to see more videos
Beautiful trail and views, thanks for the pack review!

Thanks it was fun! and at this point I think it only come in black or white.. you could add some colorful bungee cord!
so very good to see you stella be well and blessed

I love the snickers to pack worth purchase comparison, Such a good perspective on purchases!
I remember you getting this pack! Very helpful review.
Maybe add a slide with the specs/pros/cons at the end so folks can screenshot?
Haven't seen the Unbound in person but I love my 3400 Southwest!!!
Hi its so good to hear from you.❤❤❤❤ loved you talking about the backpack.
Thank you, Stella, awesome video. Definitely catching the next one. So great to have you back.
Much love from damascus,va. aka Trail Town USA.
Fantastic video! Makes me just want to get out there :). Thanks!
Wow!! Those were some amazing views! I can see why you like living in Colorado.
I saw you using this pack on the AT and absolutely decided I want to purchase it as well.

Awesome congrats 🎉 I bet it was incredible! Did you do any vlogging, I’d definitely check it out if so! And thank you 💞
I see you are using the chest strap in this video. It seemed to be unattached in the AT videos. Oops, spoke too soon.
Hahaha yeah I go back and forth with the chest strap!
When will you find out Stella? Hope they notice your great editing skills.
Thanks Robin! Hopefully in the next couple weeks!
The yellow hat is back!
I stitched a flower on the side of it too! 🌼
Is this filmed with just your phone?
Yes!
