I'm so glad you decided to keep the hat for yourself and are knitting a shift for yourself too! Sometimes we create and gift with the joy of giving handmade love to others and forget ourselves. Often I've loved a particular gift project so much, I've thought I will make one for myself after the holiday passes, but never get to it as I pick up WIP's to move along with. It's nice to see your joy as you talk about the fun of spinning again, can't wait to see your progress and first project. Enjoy the process!

You're welcome! It's a great pattern that people should know about. Sorry I don't have more subscribers or views but I'm not that good at this or promoting my channel, it's more just a fun thing I do once a month for myself more than anything, and maybe in hopes of inspiring a few people here and there. Cheers and I look forward to knitting more of your patterns in the future, especially the Canadian hat I've seen on your Ravelry page!

Happy New Year! Loved seeing your knitted gifts. Thanks for the tip re: yarn pom pom vs. faux fur, related to comparative weight. Love your knitted-square blanket and decorated tree (I even see a trailer/camper ornament on there!). I've started my Humulus sweater and it's going well. Love your solution to the yarn dye lot issue on the Silver Stag sweater. Happy Knitting and stay warm. Love the piano piece you use in your intro? What is it called or what is it from?

Hi Anne! Happy New Year to you too!!! Yes, there is a little camper ornament on my tree that was a Christmas gift from my step-daughter last year, as I have a little ancient Boler camper. Congratulations on starting the Humulus. It's a pretty straight forward pattern as I recall, and it's where I learned to do short rows and actually started using UA-cam as a resource for figuring out any new-to-me techniques.
The piano piece at the beginning is just something I kind of made up, a tune I like to improvise on when I first sit down to the piano as a way to warm up my fingers and get reacquainted with the keys. Happy Knitting to you too and sadly, no effort needed to stay warm here in the Okanagan at the moment as we are still up above zero celsius with no snow. While it's lovely to still be able to get that extra hour a day of knitting in while I hike with the dogs, I'd rather be snowshoeing or skiing in winter.
Wishing you all the best in 2024 and good luck with the Humulus!
