Great point! "Give them something to worry about ASAP". I like that because it is simple and proven to be a good strategy. As you know, being as persistent with your response as they are with their attack is the key.
Yes, Floyd has a way of punching people into "caution" lol. It is not easy though, as you have to be "there to be hit" if you are going to hit. Nerves of steel is needed to get people to behave lol
I appreciate your videos, especially your philosophy on fighting(having warrior spirit which leads to respect among combatants) I began learning boxing and Muay Thai for self defense purposes and in my short time doing so I've been lucky to train with a boxer and two pros ( mma/combat and Muay Thai)and all three have expressed similar opinions as you. I've subscribed and hope to hear and see more about the street.
Good advice. Especially with beginner boxers. I see a lot of times, when people become intimidated by a hard hitting pressure fighter, they completely give up on trying to dictate the rhythm of the fight. Instead they just stand there defensively trying to "deal" with each onslaught as it comes. It's a mug's game. Eventually you'll get caught. I always try to give THEM something to worry about ASAP. Of course, a lot of times easier said than done! haha, but that's the challenge!
"I think they should engage every so often" Absolutely, alternating between being hit and having nothing to hit back at means I'm done both physically and mentally. Just speaking about myself, maybe it applies to others?
CORY SPINK is a prime example!!!! very very good boxer but couldn't hit hard enough to keep SOME of the fighters off him... good vid like always brother Sayf
As an aggressive fighter myself I would like to add one other thing that works against me. Good footwork and using that good footwork to stay ILLUSIVE. When I have to chase someone around and I can't catch them, I get FUSTRATED, coming out of stance, lunging, swinging wild, a real counter punchers dream. So stay illusive and DON'T LET ME CUT THE RING OFF. I want a slug fest, I want to grind on you, don't play my game. Oh ya and punch me in the face. LOL

I must absolutely agree. Great commentary.
Well said.

I think da best way to fight an pressure and aggressive fighter is to put some respect with good shots and put their in their back foot.

That's my job buddy :-). If it helps, I am happy.
Do you think Antonio Margarito is an exception? he keeps on pressure even if he is getting hit
“There is no deterrent to pressure that is better than punching someone square in the face”
That is so funny and so true!
