Hell yeah! When Priest got Scott I was very familiar with him gave them a shot in the arm. I played for 16 years and dude is a beast fast and makes it effortless. By far my favorite drummer long live Priest.
I am just learning. What do you think of Neal Peart and Bonzo's bass drum triplets? Keith Moon and Ginger Baker? I am interested in your opinion as a drummer-who was the most innovative? Cheers, from Toronto ☮ P.S- I don't like "Lists" but is Buddy Rich on yours?
Awesome how that cameraman can't seem to sit still for 2 seconds and the zoom into Scott's leg at 1:44 was especially artistic. Also very cool how he lowers the camera to Scott's feet after every double bass roll while they aren't doing anything.
His being so tall and lanky is part of what makes him the drummer that he is.....( Definitely talented). Just look at how tone the back of his arms are.. from years of playing... I love todays preist ! With Scott and Faulkner the falcon!! This band is ledgend.
@chillichomper Scott is one of the world's great heavy metal drummers, but it's silly to compare him to a maniac like Simon Phillips. Agree with you that Sin after Sin is a groundbreaking, amazing album, criminally overlooked as a metal classic.
If I was Scott I'd been pissed, The camera guy should have known the song and knew when to film Scott using the double kicks.. It Rocked anyways..when doesn't Scott rock !
Thanks for filming these vidz; He makes every Pre-Painkiller J.P. song he touches sound better than the original with Dave Holland. Older Judas Priest songs from before '89 just sound better with Scott's touch on it;
They gave him samples from time to time to try out....this was one of those times. He would use them for a week or two....but he's never switched from Paiste.
He changed from Tama to Pearl for the tour in 2007/2008. Pearl didn't hold up to tour abuse, and in late 2008 he switched to DW. If you watch the Racer X NAMM show in January 2009, he played his first DW kit (orange sparkle).
I think he just experimented with Zildjian to see what they had to offer. I believe he opted to stay with Paiste though as he is still on the Paiste website and not on Zildjian's. I saw him and Priest in the fall of '14 and I'm almost positive he had Paistes on his set. Both Paiste and Zildjian are pretty consistent with updating their artist roster and make clear who's new to their companies. Like I said, I have not seen Scott anywhere mentioned on the Zildjian website, so I guess he tried Zildjian and decided to stay with Paiste. That's just my best guess.
Vater. It's a standard stick that anyone can buy. He now has custom Judas Priest sticks, but it's still the same type of stick from Vater. This is why previously, Scott never gave new drum sticks to fans, since anyone could buy them and say it was his. So he would only give worn sticks, and if you know his play...his wear is unique.
Omg, I especially like the close-up @ 1:44 on the studs on the pants. (eye roll) Does it seriously take a drummer to film a drummer so he knows WTF to properly shoot???? FUUUUCK!
great video man, but whoever recorded this just couldn't figure out how double bass pattern is repeating and every time he finally gets down to legs - pattern finishes, and there's nothing interesting down there anymore hahaha and that repeated throughout the whole vid, got me pissed off a bit xDD
Shut up about cymbals etc. You know nothing about his situation with manufacturers" just enjoy his talent! Oh yea I loned him my Tamberine you see in the video on the stand, he is saving up for one then I will get mine back.
He’s so precise and yet he has a strong sense of groove as well!
I know Scott. Excellent drummer and a great person.
most musicianns probly cannt wait to get away from nnon misicianns ;)

An absolute pleasure to sit & watch Scott doing his thing.. Sensational.
Awesome how that cameraman can't seem to sit still for 2 seconds and the zoom into Scott's leg at 1:44 was especially artistic. Also very cool how he lowers the camera to Scott's feet after every double bass roll while they aren't doing anything.
Awesome song,awesome drumkit,awesome drummer!
no substitute for the straight forward rocking of this version.
His being so tall and lanky is part of what makes him the drummer that he is.....( Definitely talented). Just look at how tone the back of his arms are.. from years of playing... I love todays preist ! With Scott and Faulkner the falcon!! This band is ledgend.
BTW..I have a lot more videos on his YT channel Scott Travis.

Drummers amaze me. I can't tap my head and rub my stomach at the same time!

Eres la energía eres el mejor por eso se destacan
Teria que fazer esse tipo de filmagem, mostrando os detalhes, como foi feito nesse video, quando ele toca Painkiller. Seria fantastico.

THATS so fucking cool. 👏
Sometimes you need something to remind yourself how great Paiste cymbals are.
dunnettclassicdrums those are zildjians in this vid
If I was Scott I'd been pissed, The camera guy should have known the song and knew when to film Scott using the double kicks.. It Rocked anyways..when doesn't Scott rock !

i Love this fucking song
how do you got behind the drum kit
Scott killing it, ❤️it🤘
He didn't. They gave him samples from time to time to play and try out.
@outlaw6066 he also uses tama pedals and i believe hardware as well
Thanks..I definitely have lots of "Feet" in other videos. We gotta give the hands some love. :) There are quite a few on this channel and Scott's.
You can't win...I film his feet, and people get mad about that. Go to the Scott Travis Channel and see the other videos I've filmed.
@MrLeon4646
Friend of mine. I flim so you fans get to see it from an angle that you rarely get to see.
Thanks for filming these vidz; He makes every Pre-Painkiller J.P. song he touches sound better than the original with Dave Holland. Older Judas Priest songs from before '89 just sound better with Scott's touch on it;
When did he switched to zildjians?
Does DW know he's using a Tama Throne?
They gave him samples from time to time to try out....this was one of those times. He would use them for a week or two....but he's never switched from Paiste.
Ken's Channel pfffffffft!!!!! Shut up
When'd he change gear? I've always known him to use tama and Paiste, Not Dw and zildjian
He changed from Tama to Pearl for the tour in 2007/2008. Pearl didn't hold up to tour abuse, and in late 2008 he switched to DW. If you watch the Racer X NAMM show in January 2009, he played his first DW kit (orange sparkle).

Let us see some great drumming from the Firepower album.
Would this drummer ever play in Dokken or Motley Crue in case if they ever needed him as a Substitute Drummer? May 1, 2021 [Saturday].
Why? Dokken is dead as a band and Tommy Lee is alive.
@planetbard1
Yeah..he was. LOL. He wanted me to move over and stand up.
He have Zildjian crashes and ride (very cool), and Paiste two hats,..........I thought that he had a sponsorship from Paiste only.
The crash in front of him takes quite a beating
@khower man now you are godd
what is this drum stick?
Ken's Channel
ty for replying.
vater rock? hammer?
his stick looks not have tips.
They are Vater Rock sticks. However...they have tips. He holds them backwards.
Ken's Channel oh, backward?!?!
I was surprised...
thanx bro!!!
I don't know, but every other video i'v seen of him he uses paiste cymbals this is the only time i'v ever seen him use zildjian.
SuperZombiekiller5 who gives a fuck!! He can play pots & frying pans if need be"
sorry dude , it is a kool ass vid , checked out some of your other vids ...nice !
tama SC even his artstar from 01 sounds better than his DW's, love scott, he has played my SC in 2011.
+Lyle Wallace His Tama set was nice, but you also have to remember he used Triggers on the Tama...he does not on the DW.
fair enough :) but only on the art stars :)
I hate to say it but it’s true.....Tama fit Scott better than DW
🤔hmmmm? Interesting.
I like his version best after simon phillips
Make another Racer x album PLEASE! I you don´t have time, you´re welcome to skip playing in "Thin Lizzy"...
I wish he would close those fuckin hats during the verse..other than that,Excellent.
