What totally got me was how little a pilot talks to mother. I always just assumed it was more like busy controlled airspace rather than like checking into your local non control airport with atis, lol.
Nicely done. I would suggest putting the HSI/SA on the LDDI. This allows you to see the courseline better, see aircraft on L16 around you, and have a visual reference for the carrier. In CASE III ops with ACLS in the future the SA/link4 display will be forced onto the LDDI as well.
The left DDI "message block section" blocks the C-line distance on the lower right HSI in the latest build so I use right ddi for that reason in Case1 and as you mentioned link4 autos to the left in Case3 so RDDI HSI is natural.. Anyway to get Cline distance on the hud?
Real nice, looked smoother than my landings. Gaming has really come a long way. I remember the days of landing on the carrier in Top Gun NES lol. Now I fly DCS in VR, dream come true!
Don’t forget to set the throttle to Military thrust when the wheels hit! I believe you are supposed to assume you missed until you’re at a stop on the deck, I’m case the hook skips over the cables or possibly snaps. Then throttles to idle and tail hook up and depart the landing area of course.
Very good vid. It would really nice to see you start back at the 50nm and include all the proper calls. Nice that you included the stack and moving from stack to commencing. Good vid.
My biggest issue every time seems to be chasing the on-speed AoA on the downwind part of the break. I feel like I'm just constantly ballooning all over the place, floating up and down trying to get on speed. I'm hoping to upgrade to the Winwing Orion soon, and hopefully having actual switches for the flaps and gear, along with having an actual HOTAS command for my speedbrake will make it a bit easier to avoid the moments where I'm looking down at my keyboard trying to drop the gear and flaps.
I think alot of people struggle on the downwind leg. It takes a lot of practice to know when to bring the throttle in and stop the descent and maintain on speed while the gear and flaps come out.
I don't remember, but I think ED says they are about to release the ability to auto land on the carrier, that should be interesting, kind of like self driving cars, lol!
I'm getting better. After watching you and a few others I can now Day Trap pretty well. I can get four out of five green's. Night Trapping and Bad Weather Trapping is next
Hello Tricker, Superb video and therefore I wanted to put your TrackIR Profile in my DCS but impossible and I do not understand why, it does not appear when I want to select it? Do you have a solution Please?
@@TrickerDCS Oops ... indeed I made the wrong file, thank you very much, because it is really nice to share this kind of information because it is not easy to adjust this TrackIr. And thanks for all the videos you make.

Amazingly done and well explained tutorials - landing on carriers is difficult and this is a great help, thanks for posting!

Very very nice! That first three wire was *chef's kiss*
Very nice. 9:49 is glorious. Game does look beautiful.

Finally some manly content!
Edit: Not bad for a Viper guy… not bad at all champ!
Let's see you in the pocket rocket!
Great work Tricker!
Thanks buddy, good to hear from you!

be awesome, but what's the fun in that!? =D
@@TrickerDCS Honestly, I was thinking that same thing, lol! But, I think in an emergency, especially with low fuel, it might come in handy.
Nicely done. I have started turning off the EW info on the HUD when trapping. That declutters things a bit.
Yah I definitely need to get that!
You make it look so easy, I either smack the back of the ship or overshoot the wires. I can trap maybe 1 out of 5 tries

Freakin beautiful my man!!
Beautiful

You need to download the profile and install in the following location:
C:\Users\[User.Name]\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles

You're doing great, Tricker! 👍🏻
Thank you for making this video for us.
Can you talk through the changes you are doing to the throttle as you land?
ua-cam.com/video/krsKCgX8YAI/v-deo.html
Nice landings, you did have very long groove times though
Yep; gotta practice
@@TrickerDCS its definitively fine for landing by your own, but as soon as you are in a flight you gotta watch that interval obv
What training mission did you use for this? I REALLY need to practice, I can get down, but it ain't pretty.
It's in the f18 missions case 1 recovery section
When turning into the carrier, the FLOLS pops up, it doesnt do that for me when i play. How can i activate that?
It's in the main special settings at the main menu, under super carrier I believe
Have you tried ATC approach yet?
nope i need too though!
why does this game look so much worse than it did 2 years ago? This videos graphics are so much better.
