@@VortexBricksyou want to know what’s cap, the fact that I found an official Lego Mr. Gold on Etsy for only $40.00.
I also got myself a replica Mr. Gold and honestly i'd highly recommend getting one. This is one of the few instances where it makes sense to go with a fake one instead of cashing out on the real thing. I also bought a custom display case to go with him and anyone that does see my replica one, i make sure to tell them it isn't the real deal.
To the untrained eye it's hard to spot the differences. The only obvious difference as mentioned is the colour but some may prefer the stronger gold colour on the fake.
Edit: i also swapped out the hands and the crystal for real lego pieces.
Personally i need to get series 10 anyways so i may as well buy an unopened box of it.

In 2021for a birthday gift for my twins and I, I purchased an unopened case of series 10. Number 4,856 of 5000 was finally found!!! It was the Super Bowl win for Lego mini figs. Epic.
i think i prefer the colour of the fake really, i know the real one is super rare but that silver/gold makes it looks cheaper

The 2 rare minifigures I have are the Demogorgon figure from the Stranger Things set & Professor Brainstein with the Mech Suit from the Ultra Agents Ultrasonic Showdown set both of which I got before the sets retired & both are now worth like $75 to $85 by themselves!
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Mr. Gold
I think seeing both in video form doesn't do the authentic figure justice since it just reflects the light and looks worse for it, so I can't really say. However, speaking just as a collector, Mr. Gold is probably one of the less cool chrome figures to me personally speaking only from a design perspective. It's something I wish lego would do again in CMF's, I understand not doing chrome anymore since it's expensive and not eco friendly, but a Mrs. Silver for series 20 would have been really cool. Still, a very cool figure that turns 10 this year wowzers

The real version has more of a platinum gold look than a yellow gold bootleg look. I worked at many of the big nyc marketing / advertising agencies during my career & they actually call the promotional marketing tactic LEGO used the Willy Wonka contest approach. Many brands use it now. It’s always cool to see an official mr gold. Cool video. 👍

I generally don’t like fake LEGOs but I loooooove the Koriut Lord of the Rings minifigs they are GORGEOUS! The metallic silver and capes / helmets of the tree of Gondor guards is absolutely epic!!
If you like LotR like I do please please buy a few they come to about the 1$ each ok AliExpress and they have Gondor, Rohan, Elvish, Orc and Uruk Hai soldiers.
I’d rather buy a mr gold for £1.50 of aliexpress that £5000 of eBay.
I actually kinda prefer the bootleg Mr. Gold, he’s got a nicer color and additional printing. Plus he’s affordable. I just wish it was made of authentic Lego. Not a fan of crappy bootleg plastic

Your reaction to getting Mr Gold was almost exactly how I reacted to getting Daffy Duck, T'Challa/Star Lord & Kermit the Frog.
All three of them were the first minifigures I picked up in their respective waves.
I think you should see what the registration code thing is and see if its something cool or not

I still can’t believe how I recently got my Mr. Gold minifigure. I don’t know if its hat is official, but I do know that the rest of the figure is 💯 Lego.
the rarest singular minifigure i own is the santa vader from one of the old advent calendars, but the rarest set i own is the TLM2 Emmet BrickHeadz, which i got signed by the designer 😎
I wish they brought the Mr. Gold figure back, but not give him that chrome finish and do more the glittery gold finish instead. That way people can still have their chance at getting their own golden man and bring back the nostalgia, but also not make the super rare gold chrome versions of the figure be unaccredited.

I think the fact your figure is missing any back printing requires investigation, is it extra rare?
