I and some friends played the heck out of my copy when we were in high school ( the one with the party around the fire cover) to the point that I destroyed the components. I got lucky one day and found a used copy in really good condition in a thrift store with the original dice and all the parts!! I still play that copy on occasion still to this day.
We still get a great deal of enjoyment out of this game, which provides a wonderful foundation for creative house rules. If you haven't seen the original 1975 rules, you should give them a look; they provide quite a bit more variety and nuance than the rules of later editions. And the colorfully written examples of play are fun to read.
I host an event called “Dungeon Day” at my local game shop here in lake Geneva Wisconsin once a month. Usually have a couple tables of Dungeon! going at once, everyone who participates gets a small prize, and those lucky enough to make it out of the dungeon alive get to pick from a larger prize pool. We always have a great time and it’s an awesome game if you want that dungeon delving experience in 60 minutes or less (depending on the amount of players). It’s one of my favorites.
I used my allowance to get this game and DragonStrike on the discount rack at KB Toystore back in the 90s. Both were my entry point to TTRPGs. Classic Dungeon was way to simple for us, but my brother and I made a bunch of house rules, and homebrew magic items to make the game more interesting. We didn't even really follow any of the rules for the game. We would play it as a co-op game, and we treated it like another scenario for DragonStrike.
Man,I was suppose to buy it when it came out long ago,I didn't have money at that times, then I got a birthday money and plan to buy right away, but I was too late, it's gone,I look elsewhere ,but none have one anymore, that my sad memoryall well, hot child in the city..... dudes
I Need help!!! Hello, I had this game but during a move, the box it was in fell, damaging the board in some parts. I never got in contact with TSR to try to acquire just the board, not playing until this week when a friend gave me the idea of trying to see if someone had one like it to take a picture in good enough quality so that I could print it, paste it and repair it my original board. Could you help me in this mission?
hello friend! how are you? Did you get the manual for this game in pdf? If you're still looking, I found a version in Portuguese (Brazil) and, if I'm not mistaken, an English version.
Nice callback. I remember playing this with my brothers back when we were kids. Fun, but did not produce the kind of excitement we got when we first played through HeroQuest or Talisman (or anything on the Atari for that matter). Even back them we considered it quite basic. There was actually another very similar game that TSR produced around the late eighties called ‘Legend of Heroes’, Daniel - I wonder if you ever came across it? I preferred it over Dungeon, because while the box & game board were simpler, it had cooler art, and so thematically was stronger, at least for me.
The Dungeon Dive Hmm... I see the designer was Graeme Morris, of Fiend Folio/Saltmarsh fame, and some of the old UK AD&D modules. Perhaps it was only released on the UK? www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiflN-Sl7_sAhUQTxUIHWrWA-MQFjAAegQIAxAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fboardgamegeek.com%2Fboardgame%2F1351%2Flegend-heroes&usg=AOvVaw2CDSdiQ9qsuR6oC7NFL88I
I love your channel man. I've never heard of this game before so thanks, and the Intellivision is one of the very few videogame systems I've never owned (and I've owned damn near every oddity out there). You're excited for Dungeon Crusader? I'm torn between thinking it looks a little bit... crazy with weird combat resolution and thinking it looks awesome. Ha! maybe I should try to grab it while I can just in case (I'm thinking of dropping DUN.. I'm torn)
Thanks! I am beyond stoked for Dungeon Crusade. Full disclosure, I’m pretty close with Rodger online, and will probably be working with him on something in the future.
@@TheDungeonDive It does look similar in some ways to this game you show here, but it also looks to me like it might be Mega-DungeonQuest... which would be awesome, I freakin love DungeonQuest. I wonder if i can still get a copy of DC? Maybe I should ask in one of his vids
Lots of beer makes it SUPER fun...still play this alot
I just got the original and had it all framed and hung. So i enjoy it. It has gotten my kids interested in fantasy as well.

Nice! Man, KB Toys had the BEST discount bins / racks.
My copy also has the misprint where the level two cards have the same back as level one.
Back when Dwarf and Elf were occupations rather than races.
Yep!
🤘
