    I once had a station where the transmitter was on site, but went off the air, no RF output for several hours. When I arrived for the emergency call that I'd received from the angry PD, I observed a board operator in the studio and his signature on the transmitter log for the last hour where he wrote down ZERO plate voltage, zero plate amps and zero output. When I questioned him why he didn't call me to report the outage, he said nothing was wrong and proceeded to turn up the studio monitor to prove it to me. Yup, he was listening to PGM, not air. He simply couldn't comprehend why I was upset.

      Oh no… unfortunately I’ve had that happen once. Had to write lots of emails and notes to remind everyone that Program is not AIR! 🤦‍♂️
