Steve Miller Band - Swingtown - SX Furrian P90 Tele

- A true classic from 1977! This is from Steve Miller Band's 'Book Of Dreams' album (my favorite album from them) and is written by Steve Miller and C. McCarty.
The $125 SX Furrian P90 Tele handles the song QUITE nicely! I don't know how many times I have to prove budget guitars are every bit as great as expensive guitars when set-up well (and maybe cheaply upgraded). But, I guess some people will just never, ever, get it!

Love your videos and I love that guitar !! I have a thing for these price friendly gems! I’ve only been playing a little over a year and my GAS is so bad I’ve accumulated over 30 guitars already, taught myself soldering & setups , and now I need to dial in on actual playing and learning the fretboard, and videos like yours are what I vibe with and learn from ! Thanks bro 😎
Love

LYRICS:
Ooo oooohhhh
Ooo oooohhhh
Come on and dance, come on and dance
Let's make some romance
You know the night is fallin'
And the music's callin'
And we've got to get down to Swingtown
We've been workin' so hard
We've been workin' so hard
Come on baby
Come on baby let's dance
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Ooo oooohhhh
Ooo oooohhhh
Come on and dance, come on and dance
We may not get another chance
You know the night is fallin'
And the music's callin'
And we've got to get down to Swingtown
I saw the title of this and thought it was a song I had never heard. Then as soon as it started, I recognized it. I never register the lyrics in a song so the fact the title is sung many times didn't help me remember it. Sounded great as expected.
Thank you, man! It's an old song from my youth. I was 9 when the album came out. Great memories with it. 'Book Of Dreams' is my favorite Steve Miller Band album. I was enchanted by the album cover way back when! 😎👍
@@Axess-sv8nq I only remember the cover of "The Joker"
@@ccjmusic I actually had to look and see if I covered The Joker. I never did. Must have been someone else. I do quote the song at times - calling myself 'a picker and a grinner'.
@@Axess-sv8nq Sorry, my comment was confusing. I meant the cover artwork of "The Joker". That is the trouble with the same word meaning different things. 🙂
@@ccjmusic Ohhhh. Gotcha!
You & your SX Telecaster Sound Fantastic Axess2084!! Sounded just like Steve Miller Band tone 2 nice!!
Thank you, brother! I appreciate it! I just had a battle with another Gear Snob over on GuitarMax's channel. He came in telling me that budget guitar brands I mentioned were total junk. Then, he called me a douchebag when I contradicted him with facts several times. He said I was jealous of better guitars. Gimme a break! Hahahah! 😎👍
@@Axess-sv8nq Hahahaha!!!! ???? Wait Hahahahaha!! What a complete moron!!
Ya a guy who has a song list from hell been playing guitar since the 70s! Na you don't know Jack about a good playing guitar Axess you just had one in your hands for decades & own like 46 of them Hahahaha!! What a complete jackazzzz I can't stop laughing from his stupidity 🤣
Hey just starting to listen. Love the song
I was 9 when this song came out! My older brother's friend had it and was playing it out his window as we played baseball in his yard. Great memories of the 1970s! Great times!! 😁👍
Very nice indeed
@@Axess-sv8nq I wish. Those days had to have been awesome.
@@FreeMeLife They were incredible, Brandi! All we did was go fishing, go to the movies, go play football (or baseball), hang out, listen to records (or the radio), and just LIVE! No complications. No paranoia. Just life. I miss it!!
I tried to find this guitar online but it doesn’t look like it’s available anymore sadly….
