@@mike7419 there are literally policies written about being respectful and professional to all citizens no matter what at all times.
And those who sign those forms to take those job's need to follow them no questions asked. Yes they may not like it, but it's the freedom's they serve.
Everyone has the freedom to be rude, but once you sign the documents to take the job, you have to take all the rudeness with a gain of salt and a smile.

The First Amendment is meant to protect unpopular opinions and speech. By case law, only "fighting words" are not protected under the First Amendment. I saw many words on that blocked list that the First Amendment should allow. This city is restricting free speech rights, period! 😎

Likely no. Depends. If your message is in keeping with the type of speech that the limited public forum was created for and they are deleting based off the viewpoints you expressed then yes that would be a first amendment violation.

To say JMA was treating her like Sh@t is downright laughable. She is speaking to him like a 13 year old girl when her Mommy said she can’t wear a mini skirt while JMA was speaking in a polite tone of voice. She needs to be coached/written up etc for her lack of professional boundaries and hopefully terminated the next time she does it again…and she will. I don’t want my tax dollars to give her unemployment money. Otherwise I would say fire her on the spot. Warn her then fire her so her consequences are more than good back to your desk where you don’t believe you work for the city.

None of those civil servants are going to care about your complaints until they are FORCED to care. In their eyes, you are the enemy. Also, is it really possible that the IT guy did not know comments could be blocked altogether on Facebook? I am highly suspicious, because even I know that.

I’d look up Fl statute chapter 119 and sue her under it in small claims. I’d first write a criminal complaint under official misconduct Fl stat 838.022 which is a felony that pertains to public records if it fits the scenario then lodge it in the case and send it off to the local DA. Failure to acknowledge the record request is a misdemeanor and failure to reasonably good faith effort to locate the records is another violation too. The law says we gotta give her a notice of intent to sue so the clock (I think it’s 8 days to produce the info) on her end to deliver starts ticking. Id make sure the request is addressed to her directly and I’d either record the interaction if in person or send certified mail signature receipt request.
