I LOVE Coopers Rock! Especially at the overlook while the trees are full of colors! It's only an hour and some change away from me and I spent a good 9 hours there just exploring & hanging out. ❤
Several years ago I was looking at camp grounds in our local area and one in particular I checked out was nice but when the owner said thier was no drinking outside your camper and that he would be watching with binoculars so don’t even think about having a drink around the campfire I couldn’t leave fast enough.😂 Safe travels
Looking off of Coopers Rock is Cheat Lake and the Cheat River. I have cabin on a lake back water at the Pa line. Have had a lot of summer fun there. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
Yeah, we tried that, drinking in a PA state park. We got a little loud late at night and the rangers came and made us dump our beer. Thanks for your video!
Great video. You guys do fantastic camera shots. You guys should try North Bend State Park in West Virginia. They have rails to trails with tunnels on the trails. There is a lot of great state parks in West Virginia.
Glad to see that new sites are being added to campgrounds - they are certainly needed during the summer. Also, it's always amazing to see the work that the C.C.C. did back in the 30's that we're still enjoying today.
the new sites will be great for larger rigs too. Way more open and accessible. We liked our site but if we had neighbors in the sites in front and behind us, it would have been not fun getting in or out, or having as much privacy.
This park is going on my list. The new campsites look pretty impressive. I'm not a long distance hiker since the back injury but it looks like there is enough to do keep us busy. I'll take the short trail for sure. Its not beer, its Barley Pop. lol. PS. The burger looked great.
WV offers some nice scenery. Keep rolling south and enjoy the views at other parks such as Stonewall Jackson resort, Summerville Lake, New River Gorge etc.
I had to look that up to read about it. Interesting! Although it was a last name and not a first name, still interesting! We thought cheat lake was different.
Loved that site some fantastic views and hikes .liked the pull through spots must make it so much easier when you have the massive RVs And got to say the pink hiking leggings were 🔥Mike never loose you in them . 😂
Those high cluffs made me nervous just looking at them! How did they install those high tension wires, crazy. Reminded me of the Rockies, especially on roads that ran aling the edges of huge drops. You might do photography driving on mountain roads and looking down over the edge as you drive, very scarey.
Nice enjoyed the scenery looked very beautiful there .. always wanted to go to WV maybe one day I will get there and I liked the woods camping more in nature that way im guessing you didnt see any deer
You were in my hometown. The rules our state parks have in place are there for a reason. Especially the on the fire wood. A lot of trees are being killed by invasive Beatles, that are brought in from other states. Please think of this before bringing in wood from other locations
All the same bugs you have in WV we have already. Our Wood is CLEAN and kept inside and it all gets burned. Most places put the firewood bans in place for emerald ash borer many years ago and they kept them in place long after it was in every state to make money to sell their own wood. You can disagree and that's fine though. Feel free to buy theirs👍🏻
Looked like a nice park, we have only done WV a couple of times but enjoyed it each time. We have just ventured from a travel trailer to a Class A and are really enjoying it, was curious about the leveling blocks, do you use your jacks to raise the tires off the ground and place them under the tires or drive up on them? Also how do you guys work out getting to go so much, you both work full time don't you? Me and the wife are still working full time and would love to get to go as much as you guys do.
we drive up on the rear blocks mostly but the front we lift with the leveling system and then lower on top. You can see in the back we build a pyramid to drive up on, and the front is just singular blocks stacked right on top of each other. Yes, we both work full time but Lynn has been at her job for over 18 years so accrued vacation is decent, and Mike's job is flexible with time off since he's in management.
Mike was not a scout. we see animals but nothing crazy or threatening. We are always packing heat though. I had water, food, and camera equipment in the bag.
Awesome views exhilarating😊
Thank you! The views were gorgeous😍
I LOVE Coopers Rock! Especially at the overlook while the trees are full of colors! It's only an hour and some change away from me and I spent a good 9 hours there just exploring & hanging out. ❤
It's definitely a beautiful area! Loved the hiking and overlooks. Definitely plan to return😊

It's a mystery😂

Yeah that would be a hard pass for us as well😂 great way to keep business low lol

Babcock and black water falls have been on our list for awhile! So much to explore
Yeah, we tried that, drinking in a PA state park. We got a little loud late at night and the rangers came and made us dump our beer. Thanks for your video!
We weren't worried about it because we just had a drink or 2 and were in bed at 9pm😂
Nice to see you two in our neck of the woods! WV has many incredible state parks. Enjoyed the video!
Thanks, we agree! we really enjoyed Coopers Rock and can't wait to explore more of WV!
Great video. You guys do fantastic camera shots. You guys should try North Bend State Park in West Virginia. They have rails to trails with tunnels on the trails. There is a lot of great state parks in West Virginia.

Great video as all ways . Thank you
Appreciate the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
Best part of offseasion is no bugs or nuts😂
No nuts?🤔
No snakes???
I love y'alls videos. There are many more places to explore on the East Coast! Also, Florida is amazing in the winter.
We love exploring pretty much anywhere! We tend to stay North in winter and will go south in summer😁
Glad to see that new sites are being added to campgrounds - they are certainly needed during the summer. Also, it's always amazing to see the work that the C.C.C. did back in the 30's that we're still enjoying today.

Yeah there are a ton of trails that vary in difficulty and length so plenty to see if you don't want to go far.
Barley pop...🍻🤔I love that!!🤣
WOW what a fun trip
thank you! we really had a great time here and can't wait to return to WV
Excellent video Lynn and Mike. Love watching you two camp and trail hike.
We're glad you enjoyed it! We had a great time at this park.
WV offers some nice scenery. Keep rolling south and enjoy the views at other parks such as Stonewall Jackson resort, Summerville Lake, New River Gorge etc.
absolutely agree! there is so many more parks we've been wanting and hope to visit here in WV
Hi! Great video! I just read Cheat Lake used to be called Lake Lynn. Funny I thought.
I had to look that up to read about it. Interesting! Although it was a last name and not a first name, still interesting! We thought cheat lake was different.
I've never been a big fan of Hot Pink until, 11:40 - Quite the beautiful sight & the surrounding area was pretty too! ~ LoL
hot pink is great for visibility in the woods haha safety pants
Loved that site some fantastic views and hikes .liked the pull through spots must make it so much easier when you have the massive RVs

Thanks!
These leggings are great for hiking... We call them the safety leggings🤣

they didn't feel scary to us but we aren't necessarily scared of heights either. We are smart enough to stay away from the edges though, just in case!
Hi both of you. Enjoy and stay safe 🫶👍🇬🇧
Thanks! We really enjoyed our time here
Welcome to West Virginia! You were about 20 minutes from me.
Small world! It's such a beautiful state and we can't wait to explore more WV parks.
Nice enjoyed the scenery looked very beautiful there .. always wanted to go to WV maybe one day I will get there and I liked the woods camping more in nature that way im guessing you didnt see any deer
It is beautiful, we hope you get there one day! We did see deer but not at our campsite but saw many in the park.
Piper is always ready to go she always has tension on her leash 😂😂😂😂
after a bunch of miles she will slow down but she has all the energy haha!
I won’t tell if you won’t tell!!😊
🍻😁
You guys are like 15 minutes away, We live just over the border in PA. We go to Morgantown WV for just about everything.
Nice! We really enjoyed our time in the area😁
Where is the fun in going camping without alcohol 😅 I'm glad yall broke the rules 😉👍
Right? I mean not liked we get rowdy, so they'd never know. especially when we are in bed at 9🤣
@@WanderingWagners exactly! I 💯 agree

Egg Nog FTW!!
best part of the holiday seasons haha!
👍
Appreciate the comment!
The slapping threw me for a second. Thought Lynn had been a bad girl
Haha nope just eggnog season!
Lynn, how did you acquire the Open Roads T Shirt?
They gave us the shirts. Not sure if they have this style available anymore but they used to be in their website
You made my groin ache. Not as creepy as it sounds. I'm afraid of heights.
Groin aches with heights?
@WanderingWagners Yes
“Reunited cause we understood”
Haha understood much later than it should have taken
The sensor on that poor drone couldn't figure out how to render all that pink...😵💫💥
No drone, it's a camera on a stick lol
@WanderingWagners fooled me, but of course I was distracted. 😉
The name of the site is Rhoda dendron.
that was my guess on how to say it but at the time i wasn't going to try since dyslexia gets the best of me most times haha!
There might be an odor to the bowl
Nope, she's just used to drinking out of the cup when we forgot the bowl on previous hikes lol
@@WanderingWagners oh OK. That’s why she looked sad. She felt like a stepchild? 😉
@iamthundermug I didn't want her to drink from my cup so we could drink out of it since we found her normal bowl lol🐾😂
Do you bring first aid. Was Mike a scout? I'm surptised that you don't encounter wild animals. What would you carry in a small back pack?
Mike was not a scout. we see animals but nothing crazy or threatening. We are always packing heat though. I had water, food, and camera equipment in the bag.
Where's Guy?
He's here and was in the video
